The mistakes of the past shouldn't influence the present. Even if you don't like his character, he put in the work and did what he had to to get the title. I found Di Grassi's deliberate shove yesterday and his media arrogance in Moscow quite poor form to say the least.

A guy who did what he done on Singapore could be called a lot of things. A champion isn't one of those things.
He was a young driver in a team which clearly only cared for one driver, the only way to keep his F1 dream alive was to do as Flavio told him which he did but was stabbed in the back a year on, shows the character Briatore was in the team (along with what he did to Trulli when he was beating Alonso), Piquet was the victim in that whole affair.

Quite chuffed Bird won, and hope he does well next season too. This one's been a bit of a stinker for him.

Most people still think of Piquet as a giant douche, me included. He's not extraordinarily talented either. He did win this championship on merit though. I was pulling for Buemi but it's way better to see a closely fought championship going down to the wire.

I just hope next year is just as good as this year has been. Seeing straight up racing on track has been really refreshing compared to F1 trying to manufacture entertainment.

Brilliant end to the season, only started watching the series during the Miami event, due my series that was meant to be racing cancelled due to PD's servers. The racing has been at times brilliant especially at the end of today's race. I was wondering why Sarrizan got a penalty for running out of battery yet Duval was at 0% at the end didn't?

I went to both races. Was fortunate to stand right by the front straight for the closer which was brilliant.

I'd say it's been a great success, it's made exactly the first impression it needs. Let's see what next season holds...

The circuit does need a lot of resurfacing (startline, turn 8, turn 17 being the main ones), but it was nowhere near the worst circuit on the calendar (Beijing, Miami and Monaco spring to mind). I loved the event, and it worked for the fans with the podium in the eVillage.

2 great races are what the season needed to finish on.

Not to mention Briatore was his manager.

He deserved the championship and the events of 2008 have literally no bearing on that, not a bad result for someone who hasn't driven in an open wheel championship since 2009.

I actually don't think the miami circuit was that bad, it was just simple.

It was boring, just a typical American 90 degree corner circuit that drivers struggled to pass on, despite it being wide. Along with Beijing, it had no "proper" corners, they were all just slow.

People aren't upset with Piquet about that. Given Briatore's reputation, his weakness in that moment can, at the very least, be understood. No, what people hate Piquet for is what he did next - when he continued to under-perform, he tried to blackmail Briatore into keeping his seat. He threatened to go to the FIA unless Briatore kept him on-board. And Briatore agreed, at least to begin with. But when Piquet was inevitably dropped and replaced by Grosjean, Piquet made good on the threat and went to the FIA. He wasn't blowing the whistle to expose corruption or malpractice in the sport - he would have kept his mouth shut if Briatore had bowed to the pressure he tried to apply.

I went to Saturday's race, but haven't yet seen yesterday's race on TV. A fantastic event put on given it is in it's first season, and a few minor changes would really have helped. For instance, none of the Grandstands had any indication on them as to which ones they were. A lot of people having to ask staff where they were, and those staff didn't really seem to know anyway. Plus we spent most of the morning trying to find a way of buying an official programme without cash. Everything else inside the event had card readers (which you would expect for an event heavily sponsored by Visa) except the programme stalls. Curiously though, there was 1 that WAS taking card and it was located at the very far corner of the park...

The biggest improvements needed though are to the event schedule itself. Saturday had just the Formula Student support, which we very nearly missed all of. You get given headphones to have live commentary (a great touch) but they never even mentioned Formula Student. With cars making zero noise, you rely on a bit more information... Especially though when there was so long between the qualifying and race. The break was a little over 3 hours long, and I think that is why most of the spectators arrived in this break. The group qualifying needs to go as well, practice is more exciting with plenty of room for 20 cars at once. 5 cars on track at anyone time was very dull and complicated to follow.

i tried, but the circuits are so dull and lifeless.the cars are very slow.i really dislike fan boost aswell as the driver swapping cars. i think perhaps in a few years things may improve but in the meantime, its f1 and wec for me

I've rather enjoyed the Formula E series. It's got entertaining attacking driving, the social media pages put up regular and concise highlight packages as well as the full races and it's good to see a greener alternative in motorsports.

Venturi are my team. Not been the best season for them but it was great to see Sarrazin first on the road in London, although disappointingly not in the race.

Sarrazin was spectacular where I was. I was at the 6/7 chicane, which was flat out, and the drivers were really smashing the second kerb. Throughout every session, Sarrazin was always the driver who made the loudest crunching noise.

I was stood there for the race! I knew you were marshalling as well, but I thought "I'm going to look stupid if I ask these marshals if they know of a 'Jimlaad43'"...

perhaps my judgement of formula e was harsh and iam too used to watching top end machines in wec and f1. for me the sound isnt a problem, also i do like the idea of turning a city centre into a race track, but they are dull tracks. il say this for formula e, at least its nice and simple with none of politics and cost of f1 and iam sure the circuits, cras and format will improve with time, for a 1st season it has been quite popular and successful

Ooh yeah! We were in the grandstand opposite for practice 2, just waiting for the orange bollard to "go missing". Pretty sure it was Sarrazin who gave it a tap towards the end of the session! It had gone by the race we noticed...

Vergne took it out and Sarrazin flicked it to the side. The first bollard was off line anyway, Piquet was the only driver who would have hit it after they removed it when he slid through the corner on Sunday's qualifying.

I haven't fully decided who I'm in support of this season! Started off as Mahindra because Carlin are who operate them and Senna drives for them, but I have swayed more to supporting Sam Bird over the season. I'd like to see the former Red Bull drivers (there are a few!) do well here and ditto Heidfeld.
