That was completely Prost's fault,

One could say he was defending the inside line, but that was way too late for swerving like that. He should've seen if Heidfeild would lock up going into the corner. I bet that's what would have happened.

Quite a first race, rivalries already?? :mischievous:

Makes the coming season all the more interesting!

Wasn't quite expecting that at the end but I suppose going down in history as the first winner might have played a part in. :banghead:

Prost clearly takes after his dad...

Actually I'd say he takes after Senna more than his dad.

Minus points for the TV director spending too much time showing pictures of people in the pits instead of cars that are 10th's apart. 👎

Plus points to ITV4 for showing all the race without add breaks. 👍

Prost was just interviewed on ITV4 and he said he did not expected a move from Heidfeld in the last corner of the race. He also said he was just turning left to take the corner properly, but cameras do not show that.

I mean, come on Nico Prost!!
Fan Boost for Heidfeld next race.

That might be the dumbest move I've ever seen.

It was bad for sure, but there's been worse than that.

I missed the race today, had to take care of my girlfriend. Will watch it later on the catch up player, was the race any good?

I think Prost was driving the way he would in sportscars. Heidfeld, on the other hand, was driving the way he would in an open-wheeler (which is weird, because he never did that in Formula 1). Hence, Prost never anticipated the move, simply because you don't leave it that late in sportscars. You don't mirror, signal manoeuvre, but at the same time, the races are long, so a racy move runs the risk of contact. It's absolutely his fault, but more a product of his approach and his mindset than his aggression or his ineptitude.

I was shocked to see Prost to walk away from the crash without looking for Heidfeld first.

Prost drove an amazing race and I was rooting for hin, but that move and his behavior afterwards...

Initially I thought Prost had just turned into Heidfeld but after seeing it a few times and it looks like Prost was caught by surprise, Heidfeld was about 6 tenths down at the start of the lap and going onto the straight he looked about the same distance back. Prost glanced into his right wing mirror and probably thought it was safe to take the defensive line but was caught out by Heidfeld's speed.
