Yeah wasn't able to watch it yesterday afternoon, so glad that foxtel replayed it. I really enjoyed it, the racing was good and a fair amount of action too.(Senna's collision on the last lap.!). Definitely going to be keeping an eye on this series. 👍

Definitely close racing from 2nd back. It is good to see former F1 ddrivershaving fun in different series races.

So your counter argument doesn't actually contain any points to do with the sport at all!

Seriously, Lauda has been spouting crap all year, insulting Formula E and saying the Silverstone Red Flag shouldn't have happened.

Did you even watch the race? There was a lot more action than any F3 race has been able to produce. When the oil has run out and you're sat at home waiting for it to suddenly come back, while watching the rest of the world driving electric cars that have had years of development, with the help of one of the best ways to develop automotive technologies - motorsport - will you still stand by your comments?

I have to wonder if the rest of the people that support, participate in and watch this series display your level of ignorance about basic geology (actual size of carbon based fuel deposits) and math (volume of the oil and carbon based material deposits vs. the infinitesimal burn and process rate that humans can muster) and bias you do.

The only reason electric cars exist is because of false pressures applied to everything else. There is nothing clean about any electric car. The huge cost in energy and environmentally toxic materials and processes needed to created the ultra lightweight and rare metal containing components far outweighs any supposed fuel savings achieved by running the electric car.

As far as the series goes, Vettel put it best. It is cheese.

Okay, so here you go again chucking insults. None of this impacts on any of the "points" you've tried to express (through more insults, may I add).

Remember people, this is the person who not long ago claimed he merely put up with the rest of us, because of his clearly far superior intelligence...

Formation lap is moving up 3 slots?
Now it is. They figured there was no real need, you can't exactly warm the tyres up much because of their design, so all you're doing is wasting a bit of battery.

The display image for that youtube video...

Am I looking at a barrier that has no protection and is open like that? I realize it's the inside of a hairpin, but that doesn't seem very safe at all.

Remember the Special Stage Route 7 glitch? That's what it's for.

I think that was for free practice only.

Just watched the second race. I'm not surprised that Sam Bird won. He had a substantial lead and pushed his first car quite far. But Senna's crash. Looks like he was going for an overtake, but oversteered into the wall. I'm sure he could have kept fourth if he didn't do that.

Bird seems to suit the battery charge problems really well.

I guess I'll wait to see how it pans out for him, but I do think its likely he might win the WDC.

Also, Prost being overtaken by Senna. That sentence made me fall in love with the series a bit more...

hsv

jim made an ignorant uneducated statement:
When the oil has run out

I do barely tolerate ignorance of that level.

I stated this series is tripe. Many folks in serious motorsport agree.

Your silly misdirection does not change these facts:
*it is a stupid series
*serious motorsports commentators agree with me
*the statement about oil running out was ignorant
*electric cars are not clean
*I like the rest of you, am entitled to my own opinion
*you folks however are not entitled to your own special facts

Nothing I have stated is untrue.

Now quickly rush back to your regular programming, wouldn't want you to miss out on the next batch of dreamy fairy dust powered electric car commercials yeah?

Very biased opinion. I for one enjoy the series a lot.
Electric cars are cleaner than petrol cars, Even though it does take fossil fuels to create the electricity, the cars do not use fossil fuels while driving, unlike petrol cars.

In your opinion, not fact.

*serious motorsports commentators agree with me

I'm not so sure that's a good thing considering "serious motorsports commentators" are also the ones that hop on the bandwagon of whoever is leading whatever series they were assigned to.

*the statement about oil running out was ignorant

Not really.

Sure, we may not run out anytime soon, but it would be nice to be weaned off of it by the time we do run out.

*I like the rest of you, am entitled to my own opinion

I won't argue anything else, however I will say you have all the grace of a rodeo bull in an antique store when it comes to expressing it, which isn't a good thing if you want people to take you for more than a troll.

*you folks however are not entitled to your own special facts

Neither are you, which makes this part seem odd...

If you can decide something subjective is a fact, than so can anyone else.

Should we just ignore this troll and move on with the thread?

I mean this is happening, Jean Todt isn't losing sleep over his opinion, we can continue to enjoy the series and watch the development of electric cars whilst he watches the slowly failing F1 series.

I haven't added any users to my Ignore List in a while. I'm sure Jeebus will magically replenish the oil, right?

Whatever the opinion on electric vehicles, this is not the thread for it.

Should we just ignore this troll and move on with the thread?
Yes, that.

Wow I came here to say how much I enjoyed the last race (and Dario's hilarious commentary, e.g. main guy: "he seems to have a braking issue", Dario: "it looks like he didn't press it"). Instead I augmented my ignore list first.

Just strikes me as amazing how beautiful the cars are and how fun it is to watch them race. Nice circuit as well. And great noises, again with a good mix so the cars were loud but we could hear the commentators if we listen for that.

My only complaint is I wanted to see more onboard - they seemed to switch away from it after a few seconds every time. Also, if they have a camera facing backward at nearly street level, it would be nice to see one in the nose that low too. So as we see the following car trying to get closer, we can switch back and forth to show the leading car trying to get away...

I'd say another complaint is the lack of replays on certain events, I missed some things in the race because of it.

Thanks for the tip, didn't know that. I enjoy the sounds, especially the onboards, you can really hear all the systems working. I didn't catch this race until Sunday morning on youtube, couldn't find it on the tele. Liked this track much better than the first race, looking forward to the next one 👍

At least in my area, FOX aired it after the early NFL game.
