I'm convinced that people who dismiss this series do so solely because they have a grudge against electric vehicles. Electric isn't the future? Doesn't matter. Cars make no noise? They actually do, but in the future it's things (ie quieter) like this that will allow us to take motorsport to places we can't now. Cars are slow? Does that mean you can't sit through club racing? Fan Boost is stupid? No worse than any P2P system or DRS.

The base product is the racing. The racing is here, the cars work, they produce a fantastic show. I actually don't want these cars to get much faster. If we can gradually change everything that makes the series "a joke" to the skeptics, we won't get a different product in the racing. The one day concept is flawless, the cars are flawless, the racing is flawless. One thing that does let it down is poor track design, but that's something that can be fixed very easily.
 
If you stuck a set of slicks on them, they'd be F4 pace easily.

It was highlighted though in Monaco, when I saw the first onboard along the start straight, I thought the driver was coasting, but it was their best quali lap. But that's only because I'm used to seeing F1 cars there. :lol:

And that doesn't matter, because they're in some of the world's best cities.

That's what sold it for me before. There's just something so awesome about racing in exotic, famed locations such as Beijing, Buenos Aires, Miami, LA, Monaco, Berlin and London. And there's more to come next season, that's for sure.

I want to go to both London races. Battersea Park looks like one of the better tracks as well so both races should be epic, especially if there's a big championship battle in the middle of it all.

Top speed is 120 mph from every source I've read/seen. Things changed since the first races?

Some of the mid-race onboards from a couple of races ago showed 225kph-ish.
 
Assetto Corsa Version of Berlin track in progress.


I think the track looks good, they do need to add a bit more scenery in order to have the corners look unique though. If this track is a permanent fixture it would be great!
 
Pretty interesting course. Not to give some folks bad memories, but in terms of scenery, the Sochi F1 course from last season looks more vibrant than this course around Berlin. Which would you rather race- Sochi or this Berlin course? I'm pretty sure way more than 75% of people would rather take on this Berlin course than the *cue Homer Simpson* "bor-ing" Sochi F1 course.

I'd sure like to see how this race ends up on arguably the greatest weekend all year in all of motorsport. This Berlin race will be on the same weekend as the F1 GP of Monaco, Indy 500, and Coca-Cola 600.
 
Pau is a classic course. I do wonder how Formula E would fare around this course. That is... unless it's too long or something for Formula E. It should be a real treat for people to see these cars on those streets.

Pau is a bit long for Formula E at the moment, not to mention the steep climbs would be an issue as well. If the technology advances as fast as those in the series expect it to, I could see Pau making it onto the calendar in the future.
 
I was shocked to see Trulli get on pole but then it all went to crap. Atleast now I know who I'm rooting for to win the championship!
 
I didn't know until a couple of minutes ago that d'Ambrosio had won. I guess it's somehow related to di Grassi stopping after the finish, maybe exceeding the max energy usage?

Sucks for Jerome, especially because I kinda want him to win more than Nelson.
 
I saw a highlight package on the Berlin race. There were some pretty good passes I saw in the highlight video I saw. Quite interesting airport track. All congratulations to the Berlin e-Prix winner.


Up next... Round 9 in Moscow on June 6, 2015. Yep, the Russian Federation (or just Russia?) about to get some Formula E loving.
 
I've been following the series so far, it needs a chance to iron out issues. For me, the main one is the fan vote system because it just isn't necessary or relevant. A tweak I would like to see is to give the cars a bit more battery capacity, so that strategy becomes a bigger part of the racing. We currently see everyone lapping at the same time +- 1 lap (and sometimes that is only when the driver has been very good or very poor at power management) but it would be great seeing someone push in stint 1 and then have to eek out the distance in the second car, or vice versa. I'm sure though that with all the other changes going on over the coming seasons, there is no reason to rush into something potentially only applicable in season 1.

I'm going to the Saturday race in London, can't wait! I think that seeing the cars in person will be much better than they can appear on TV, and I'm interested in what they truly sound like as well. The old V8 F1 engines sounded exactly the same on TV, but at my first F1 race in 2013 you could hear not only a difference between the Renault / Mercedes / Ferrari units, but also between teams as well (still had all the exhaust blowing tools and tricks). I just wonder whether it will be noticeable if drivers are using the power differently, especially after Piquet's management in Berlin.
