I hope they do sort out the issues because it looks like there's the basis of a very good game here. Those old style tracks look fantastic.

Yeah, on a whim I bought this yesterday. Only put a couple of hours into. I like the aesthetics and having tracks that change look and layout, through out the different eras is really cool attention to detail. But as others have said, the actual racing is okay at best. Don't have much of a problem with the AI. Its just the steering with the controller feels, vague. Maybe I just need to get used to it though.
 
Well it's already been said - if they fix it, it can be a pretty decent game. But now it's a bit of a mess that I'd not recommend.
AI difficulty is a mess - in one race you can't catch it in easy mode, in the other you clear it a minute behind.
In general a game with cartoonish premise should not be impossible to take the very first turn in easy mode (first era, first race is spa), because AI is too eager to ram, and even touching means total understeer for both.

Rant over, not bad, it's not expensive, but I was too quick to throw the money, this game is not done yet. In retrospect I'd wait for it to be included in PS plus.

That's my biggest annoyance so far especially at Monaco. Any contact with the AI is basically race over, it makes the track undriveable.

I am having some fun with it, once you get used to the way the cars handle there is a decent game in there. Definitely needs some patching though.
 
The steering lags. It takes a while to get used to it. It's like the car is connected to a string and then can only use the trajectory of that string. This also makes the steering inputs choppy with nothing but overcorrections to try and stay straight at times.
Coming from mostly sims and having a 1:1 connection with the car, this is hard to get used to. I hope they can fix this.
(maybe I can't use a controller anymore 😬 )

I really want to see this game have 4-player split screen in the future. If they can do that I'll pick it up immediately. Been watching this thread since announcement and no news of anything beyond single player is very disappointing, this would be a great party game among my friends.
 
I’m not a fan. Doesn’t really fix the issue, instead basically pressing the ‘Mario kart’ button so it plays exactly like any other indie arcade racer, complete now with daft AI swarming round running into each other. It wasn’t great before but I at least appreciated that it was trying to inject some sim leanings into things, they just got it wrong. Now it’s just like any other game. Even using the original handling model I don’t like this new AI.
 
I like the new steering a bit better but it's really not that different. I haven't even won a race yet and that's on easy. 😄
I've only done 3 races though. As with anything, it just takes time and practice to get used to what they want you to do.
 
I'm really interested in buying this game :dopey: Is it worth to buy it now or later ? I've heard that the handling has improved when the first DLC dropped :)

On Steam they updated the demo with improved handling, refined physics, new cameras and some other changes if you want to try it.
 
Finally bought the game, I'm really enjoying it :D and bought it now because is on discount until December 2nd, 15 euros instead of 20 :dopey:

Also the 1st DLC in on discount, 3.19 euros instead of 3.99 ;)

Haven't touched this game for a few weeks (been meaning to go back to it but keep getting distracted with other games). Wasn't even aware there was DLC yet.

And bought. Had a few bucks on my account left over, so why not.
 
I might get this over the weekend now. This roadmap has me hooked. The problem is that I have too many racing games that I haven't finished yet :lol:
