So not only have their been power outages, but Martin Brundle has just uploaded a picture of his commentary 'cell'.

F1 has, sadly, been using V8 engines since 2006.

I know, really wish the engine regulations would allow any number of cylinders :(

What I meant by my post was that with the different look of the cars starting from 2009 onwards, I've only heard V8's on them, until now that is :dopey:

First picture from the circuit:

And nothing says "Formula 1" like a lightning-powred Bollywood superhero:

Thank you for that, Sahara Force India.

Thankfully F1 in the states is growing well Texas is gonna easly sell out same for the NJ thing aswell if it happens, plus just look at how well Brazil and Canada do.

It would be cool to see next years engines be 2.6 liters with variable valve timing and direct injection that would be somting they'd make an easy 100 more hp

The track is really dusty many people are saying it. Also it seems none of media, press guys are happy with the facilities.

These are definitely some of the best pics

Practice one is done with Hamilton, Vettel and Webber on top... The lap time difference is huge though. The slowest car which is Karthikeyan is about 8 seconds slower than Hamilton.

So, it seems like turn 4-7 is the most challenging with a lot of drivers running wide and off the circuit.

The only casualty in the session was Alguersuari who crashed at the exit of Turn 9, Alonso has got a technical problem and Maldonado has an engine failure.

Let's see how they will go with session 2 later today.

Hah! Thanks for the Inside GP videos kimi123, thought I'm going to miss this weekend's because I'm a little bit too busy.

Why does Hamilton have a Bob Marley helmet?

Is it cos he is black?? ;)

Just incase anyone thinks I'm being racist its a reference to hamilton's comment earlier this year.

Whoah, did anybody catch Alonso's car bumping vigurously on the straight before turn 4? About 51 minutes left of the session...

Massa's front wing was doing it in FP1. Or something similar (I don't have a feed the way I did for FP1); it was vibrating and sparking off the tarmac on the back straight. The FIA's technical delegate was apparently very interested in what Ferrari were doing with their front wing when he saw it.

It was apparently a 2012 prototype front wing. They may be trying to perfect the front wing flexibility, like Red Bull have, but seemed to have made it a tad too flexible.

Something is not right. Petrov spun his car around at turn 5 with Button following him beind but there were no yellow flags to warn the other drivers. That's not good...

Now the track gets really dusty.

How close was Button at the time? It could have been that Button was too close to Petrov for the marshals to react.

From what I saw at the run-off area Petrov's car was already stopped, pointing on the other way around when Button was about to take turn 5. If I remember correctly there was another car just coming out of turn 4 as Button entered turn 5.

Not a bad track really. Too much run off tarmac for my taste but it's getting like that everywhere now.

I don't like that flapping wing on the Ferrari. I think the weight test for wings needs some looking at.

Narain karthikeyan has a very funky helmet:

Jarno Trulli is also running a special helmet design, a tribute to Marco Simoncelli. Unfortuantely, I don't have a shot of it right now.

And I love this shot of Nico Roberg:

The air might be dusty, but it makes for a stunning shot.

Everyone thought Lewis was paying tribute to Marco, yet quite inexplicably he's got Bob Marley on his helmet for this particular weekend :odd:

Looks like Hamilton is doing what he does best this season, racking up stewards inquiries and penalties. I hope Lewis can get a victory still though even after the penalty. That was a bit reckless of him for not backing off and hopefully he learns from this season of things not to do. Nothing like first hand experience to change your approach a bit.

Edit:

Lewis is leading Sergio in the F1 penalty championship battle:

Perez has matched him today, we will see how this championship turns out but I think at the moment it looks like Hamilton will be the winner in this contest. He should have his face and 2011 by it on some kind of F1 wall of shame ;).

I really liked the track to drive on in F1 2011, the real thing seems to be a bit wider and slightly different in undulation to the game but not far off. The game version was a fantastic track.

More interesting news than the latest Hamilton obsession--John Wickham, team manager at Renault, didn't even make the trip to India this weekend. Interesting that he didn't even finish out the season...

I bet they had more fun in those auto rickshaws than in F! cars.👍:)

Are they taking notes of the circuit?
