I'd love to see DRS zone at the exit of turn 2 at korea.
 
Can't really see them putting it anywhere else.
 
Well, I hope RB doesn't kick much butt in the qualy.

The DRS should be put in secondary overtaking spots instead of primary ones. So here, after turn 9 instead of the straight. 830 meters is freaking ridiculous.

Dear God it's going to be appalling.
 
I hate this track. Always have and probably always will. What the hell are they thinking for the penultimate corners? The laptime was perfectly adequate, it just vaporises any flow the track had in that area. I'm interested to see what changes can be made.

Barcelona doesn't have a primary overtaking spot...
 
Word. In the last 3 Spanish Grands Prix there have only been 7 on-track overtaking maneuvers.

Precisely. It was in an interview with Mercedes GP I got that information. It only counted on-track, minus the pits, overtakes and also excluded passes by Ferrari on HRT for example. They cited the last corner's speed as a culprit as well as the track being used for testing.

On rfactor I thought the same until I ran an 8 hour enduro at the track. The new section does have quite a flow to it once you get the line down and was actually my favorite part of the track. Although when I started in practice since I knew the track without that section it was miserable.

Boring track and I think DRS will be nothing like as effective here as we've seen at previous tracks.

Though I was glad to see the new owners of the track being open to track changes if it's needed to improve the racing.

Not much they can really change though, they should really revert it to the old track though as the current chicaned-last corner makes it even more difficult to overtake. At least before without the last corner chicance, it was a little bit easier as you could follow the car in front close and slipstream all the way to the first corner.
Currently, the concertina effect hampers the car behind from keeping close.

Its main problem is the track itself is quite narrow and its a lot of high-speed downforce reliant corners, its (like almost all tracks in Spain it seems) more of a motorbike track.

By primary, I mean, where most overtaking is likely to take pace. By secondary, I mean where passing is second most likely to occur.

Glad I'm not the only one encountering problems with the Speed FP1 feed.

So... was hoping the Mclaren upgrades would help. Apparently the front end is still too stiff... Lewis with a big lock-up... :lol:

Not going unnoticed that D'Ambrosio is outperforming Glock yet again. And Webber a massive second in front of anyone else after P1.

I realise I'm getting somewhat predictable, but I'll be happy with points for Alonso. Can't count him out for a win though.
 
I like how they've put the little strip at turns 7/8 to stop the drivers cutting, as is done in the pole lap video from last year.

Otherwise, with Webber on top in both sessions, looks like he has /some/ idea of what the hell he's doing with the car now.

Meanwhile, looks like the 107% rule will be the backmarkers enemies this weekend.
 
Remember the top teams will use hard compound in Q1, that normally saves the likes of HRT and Virgin.
 
Come on... Webber then Hamilton would be perfect. Vettel to finish in 16th or something. Getting sick of him being on top now. :lol:
