Is Redbull's KERS working?, I have not heard anything on it?

Word. In the last 3 Spanish Grands Prix there have only been 7 on-track overtaking maneuvers.

Maybe because if you make a mistake on overtake; concrete walls and barriers are not forgiving :dopey:

What concrete walls and barriers? Barcelona = Spanish Grand Prix ≠ Valencia
 
The track is boring. Hope tyres and DRS, KERS can make it little intresting. Good track for aero package so RBR will be strong.

RBR is always strong, but as of P2 the McLarens were right there mixed in with them. Webber was fastest but with Hamilton just 0.039 behind him, Vettel third at +0.356, and then Button at +0.718; Hamilton nearly identical to Webber and a third of a second faster than Vettel. That's still just the second of three rounds of practice and practice doesn't mean a whole lot anyway since that's their testing period, but....
 
But this is what everyone has done every practice session so far this season. :rolleyes:

Red Bull always have something inhand for qualifying, its the race where McLaren can hope to try and beat them on strategy as they did at China. Red Bull have historically never really gone flat out in practice. Webber's fastest time today was 3 seconds off the fastest time this time last year! We don't know anything yet, as usual.
 
Drivers are complaining on the super-hard compound tyres being too slow, too slidey and didn't even last long enough. Among them are Hamilton, Alonso and Kobayashi. While it gives some hard times for the drivers, we could see a longer and more exciting race tomorrow... But we'll see what they can do.

Vettel sits in the pit the entire practice with engine problems, comes out an does one lap and is quickest. The Red Bull is ridiculously good.
 
Or it simply shows us that if you stick the lowest fuel load on, you can be fastest in every session easily, no one runs ultimate qualifying pace till qualifying. (plus the track is the most rubbered in at the end of the session).
 
It also separates the normal F1 fans from the delusional ones who absolutely refuse to believe Vettel has any sort of talent.
 
does any body think webbers getting sucked in to him feeling he has all the others covered up until quali,or vettel specifically...then when time comes to perform he's still lagging a bit..pig loves webber,remembers him travelling australia racing formula ford...thats pigs thoughts

Kovaleinen will make it through! Brilliant for Lotus.

Catalunya is a bad track for Barrichello isn't it? Two years in a row he was out in Q1.
 
Frist Q2 for one of the new teams, huh? The Lotus Q2's because the Lotus didn't set a time though, I must say.
 
And Heidfeld never even gets on track. Though I'm sure he has a good enough case for the FIA to let him at least start in the back.

I kinda did that intentionally, but thanks anyway. I think Rubens was on primes, as Maldonado was about 3 seconds faster, in 4th. Makes sense.

Not neccesarily. Kovaleinen would have been 18th but Rubens didn't get a chance on the softs. Lucky, but last year I don't think Lotus could have qualified under the same circumstances which shows how the car development has come along.👍

Right, I didn't know if it was intentional or before Jarno set a time. Would have been really interesting for Button if Nick had made it out and/or Rubens went out with the options.
 
Vettel didn't use KERS on his Q2 lap.
 
Kovy ahead of both FI's. Both FI's were on hards in Q2, that may give them a big advantage in the race.
 
Webber ahead of Vettel in Q3, by 2 tenths.
 
Thank God, a pole that isn't Vettel. That hasn't happened since Singapore last year.
 
The whole time Vettel turned away from Webber, and did little more than a tap on the back. I bet he'll complain in the interview that his KERS wasn't working or some other excuse.
