I am guessing this is the BMW race.
Yup traffic being behind you defeats the purpose of the challenge to get past the traffic. Thats a huge glitch, cheat but I am sure T10 will take care of it in the full game. Probably not in the demo since the game comes out in 1 week. I would love to see T10 bann the people doing this in the demo from the full game. :)

It was an incredibly stupid idea to put A.I obstacles in time attack in the first place... Fun? Yea if you're not chasing times.

Getting into the 1.22s in the 458 was nothing but frustrating.

I dont think its a stupid idea at all. In fact I like the challenge of batteling through wave after wave of AI. Otherwise all you are doing is time attack racing. Reminds me of the car passing challenges in PGR4 which were a lot of fun to me. It also reminds me of the real life road track events I attend where we have to pass slower cars while battleing the time. Thats why there are some events with and some without the traffic in the F4 demo to please everyone. 👍
Its not very often in real life where you get an entire track to yourself. Traffic on is much more realistic.
People want a realistic simulation racer, yet complain when traffic is on the track? :dunce:

A couple of sightings of the "J.C." car courtesy Standaman @ fm.net. Sorry if repost.

According to the poster this shows up as a Gallardo in the rear view mirror.

I thought weaving around in the traffic was pretty fun, I thought it was a nice way to enjoy the BMW M5, then again, I wasn't really trying.

Weaving through the traffic while just driving fast is fun.

When you're chasing a top 100 time the A.I just screws you over every chance it gets.

Yeah, but in a town like this people would drive in both directions and surely would do something to avoid you, no?
I find the traffic extremely unrealistic, constantly reminding me Im playing a game.

It just adds some randomness. You don't like it ? Don't play it.

Just looks like someones photoshopping to get attention.

Would need video proof.

It's not a photoshop. I've seen this twice already. It's a white car that does it. Mine was an Aston Martin or what looked like could have been a Bently. It's really a simple fix on their part and no big deal. Just make sure a white car isn't on that track. To get the surrounding snow to glare (bloom) that's the target color in the palette more than likely. Just make sure no car is ever that color on that track.

Every time your car loses grip it kicks in. Unless you're a perfect driver, you don't need to be "losing your mind" to see it working.

Since the assist is mainly speed sensitive, every single time you turn in the game is assisting you.
Which one is it fellas? Every time I select a car color steering assists kicks in? LMAO. People can't even agree on what it's supposedly doing.

After a lot of laps, I finally managed a quick lap in the F458 Italia Challenge. 1:25:xx. The top 100 times don't seem like a long stretch, just have to get lucky! I managed a 1:23:xx but because of my last lap it was penalized. Come on Chris! I want you to beat me!

Got you bro! .5 ahead as of this morning. :p

I give up on you guys. I think I've reached about the limit of my ability. I might try some more though, well I have to , game too addicting not to. lol

I hear you on that one. 👍

Dude I was feeling good about my times the other night and then Medi came in a kicked me in the nuts on the Zonda leaderboard.

Must....try.....harder....

I've had a couple white cars during the races and can't say I've seen it but it sounds like a plausible explanation.

Perhaps it does both?

With a controller the counter steer does appear to be 1:1 but with a wheel it isn't. Very strange...

I just realized I'm in the top 2% of the BMW M5 rivals mode challenge... I mean, what? I usually suck, how come most people are that much worse than me? :odd:

Turns out you weren't as bad as you thought. 👍

Late to the party but decided to try the demo today. It doesn´t appear that the wheels are supported in the demo? If so can we expect a proper demo before Forza 4 is released or is there something with my Fanatec Turbo S wheel acting up? The console detect it as normal though.

Stuck with the gamepads it was very hard to be immersed. Get no road feel at all feels like I am on a hockey rink or something just with massive amount of grip of course :)

Make sure you turn on the console first. My Turbo S is working fine.

I should have elaborated in the first place but just to clarify I mean in competitive settings such as lap time leader boards.
Not like you can't have normal hotlapping sessions.

I actually like it. It adds a new twist to the old hat that is hotlapping. I mean, we've all done that for ages in racing games. Put a car on an empty track and just have at it... Having traffic on the track at least rewards you for knowing some basic race craft, such as overtaking and actually deviating from the 'best' line through a corner...

I am have to say I dont care for the "traffic" either. Feels like an older NFS game. I understand the "challenge", as rolling obstacles, but it disconnects me from the game. Add the fact I find the Alps track very, very, fantasy driven, and it kind of kills the demo for me.

I am looking forward to Hockenhiem, with a proper race. I am just hoping Rivals will be more setup like Autolog. But since its a mode in the demo, I am guessing it wont be much like Autolog :indiff:.

Once I can paint, and tune my cars, and race through more of the real world tracks, I will be happy again.

I am talking about ROAD TRACK RACING traffic. Not street traffic.
On a road track there are other racers. Some of them are slower and will need to be passed. I have been road track racing for many years and its realistic to have other cars to pass. Plus like I said, you can do the other racing modes without traffic. But I can assure you that in real life, it is next to impossible to run a track all by yourself unless you have some serious money. The real life tracks I run on have at least 15-20 cars on the track at once for each racing group.

Or serious firepower. Seriously, you can clear a track with FN Scar Mk 16.

Well, I find the BMW great fun to drive. Then again, the BMW drives exactly how I was expecting it to, I find it quite similar to the cougar (plus a lot of suspension control and grip obviously) in that it is a big, heavy rear drive vehicle which is only too happy to wag the tale. My driving style is naturally loose anyway, but compared to the Zonda and Ferrari challenges in which I struggle I believe I am in the top 1% for the BMW on the leaderboards. I guess that I'm glad the cars do all drive very, very differently however I'm sad my ability isn't particularly strong enough to adapt to that. Haha.
