So glad they put the 2.8 VR6 swap back for the Mk2 Golf, it was missing in FM5.

@CAMAROBOY69 I think I encountered that controller glitch, but it's not when changing the batteries as I haven't had o yet, but if I'm idle and my controller disconnects itself it freezes when I turn the controller back on. I can't just turn the Xbox off and on because it doesn't fix it, I have to force restart the Xbox

A friend of mine worked on this game and his gamertag appeared as an offline drivatar earlier 👍 I thought that was pretty cool. Overall I'm really enjoying it however I did have the game crash on me earlier just after I beat an A class rival in a C class car. I lost the big reward :(

Even though it looks like you took a snap using your phone cam, I can see how detailed, crisp and polished Horizon 2's look is. Noticeably better than FM5. But then, why wouldn't it? Runs at 30 fps with all the additional goodies. Same is the case with FM4 vs Horizon 1.

Edit:

Still can't find any X360 FH2 reviews. What gives?

To access real-time telemetry, all you have to do is hold down on the d-pad. Just tapping it doesn't work.

I like the graphical treatment they made to telemetry. It's much easier to read at a glance than it is in FM5.

@gt4viper -- There's no tuning in FH2-360, but a fair amount of open space and a few areas with steep slopes, yes. Tire grip has been cranked up, but compared to FH1, more finesse may be required when you actually push those high limits of traction. I haven't really driven any large vehicles yet, but suspension modelling is as good as if not better than FH1's, which I thought was pretty decent.

I don't know about the Golf yet, but in FH2-360 they've removed the VR6 swap from the Beetle, and the Typ 2 only gets forced induction...too bad. :(

I'm going to try to get to Level 65 without any wheelspinning. I'm currently level 54 and I've already got 8 wheelspins saved up. :trouble:

I ended up getting a H1 (VIP bonus of 122,000 as well) and 86,000 (x2) after getting the perk. Of course I got 3000 rolls too. But pretty good so far.

So judging by the complete silence over on the official boards, there's absolutely no Rewards tie-in with the 360 version. I suppose that's not too surprising, but it's still disappointing that a company so focused on community aspects would cold-shoulder an entire portion of their demographic. I'm guessing having the 360 version be worth any serious amount in Rewards would've probably met with some criticism from those who've already moved on to the One, though.

Still, disappointing.

Yeah, I can handle not getting any of the special goodies that the Xbox One version of Horizon 2 has, but not having any tie in with the Forza Rewards system is something I find to be completely unfair. I get that Turn 10 is moving on with the Xbox One, but I was hoping for getting a bit of something with the Xbox 360 version that had to do with the rewards. *sigh* Instead though, it seems I won't even get that until I eventually gather up money for a Xbox One.

Who said that drifting wasn't possible with sim steering? I'm looking at you @GranTurismo guy :D

I could do this all day, so much fun.

SIM steering is 100% possible and fun on a controller, provided you understand how the controller mechanics work. YOu just need to be really intricate and precise, that's all. And turning off motion effects really help. It throws you off.

Really? There's now MORE tire grip in Horizon 2? I thought it was fine in H1, although brakes were too sharp. I am eagerly waiting to get my hands on H2. Should be able to do that in a week or so. Suspension modelling was really good in H1, slightly better than FM4 now that I've played both at length.

BTW, Wolfe how would you rate the game overall compared to H1? I checked out some user reviews on Metacritic, and some had not so great things to say about the X360 version... saying how SD couldn't life up to PG's standards of visuals and physics? What's your take? Are the sounds as good or better?

Really enjoying the daylights out of Horizon and looking forward to part 2. I wish the FM games would borrow some graphical elements from the Horizon games....

With the Wheelspin perk I got the 110k jackpot twice. While I still sometimes get little money, it happens much less than before I got the perk. It only got better ever since I bought the VIP membership.

What was the highest priced car that you got? Mine was the AMG Black Series, it was around 210k.
Also I never got any duplicates.

I had one spin today where there no cars in the wheel at all. The highest priced car I've won so far was the 'Cuda. Can't remember exactly how much. I think about $160K?

Online road trip with randoms is a bit cringeworthy to say the least. Maybe I made a mistake to stay up this late and got stuck playing with Eastern Europeans or something, but I was rammed about 10 times on the way to the first race, another 10 or so times during the race, and another dozen times on the way to the 2nd race. Finally at the very first corner of that 2nd race I was hit so hard that my car flew over a barrier and I ended up trapped outside of the circuit, needless to say I went back to single player after that.

Hopefully we can arrange regular Club road trips for a better experience for everyone.

That may have been lag rather than just bad sportsmanship. If that was the case, than a road trip with us is gonna be just as bad. We have people from all corners of the globe here.

That's rough about the 360 rewards, I feel for you guys.

Wheelspin keeps giving me duplicate cars. I got two Cobras and three Subarus. Oh well.

Still digging the soundtrack. That one band where the singer sounds like David Byrne, I can't get their song out of my head.

At last I got my Forza Rewards in the game. something like a million credits (500k + 600k for leveling up), and three cars. I'm now at Tier 5, I should get my Rally Fighter soon enough, although I've seen that the Bowler trumps the other Extreme Offroad cars under all respects.

In regards of the soundtrack, I love it. I constantly zap through the 7 radio stations available, the music is just so good. Here are my favorites from each station (except for Levante FM, played it way too little to give an opinion for it, although I do like me some classical from time to time; same thing goes for Innovative Leisure Radio):

Horizon Pulse:
  1. CHVRCHES - The Mother We Share [Duh!]
  2. Bo Saris - Can't Beat The Old Skool [This song is just so freaking catchy!]
  3. Both songs by Jungle [First album, and they already are among my favorite new acts.]
  4. Both songs by Chromeo [Gotta love their Zapp-meets-Daft Punk sound.]
  5. Cut Copy - Free Your Mind [This songs is just so relaxing, and I don't know why.]
Horizon Bass Arena:
  1. Duke Dumont - I Got U [I already liked this song, but the music video made me fall in love with it.]
  2. Nero - Satisfy [Nero's at it again: amazing song, but it just doesn't beat "Me and You" from Horizon 1.]
  3. London Grammar - Hey Now (Arty Remix) [Trance is always so gorgeous, and this song is no exception.]
  4. Mat Zo - Only For You [DEM SYNTHS.]
  5. Duck Sauce - NRG [When Armand Van Helden and A-Trak team up as Duck Sauce, the result is always priceless.]
Horizon XS:
  1. The Clash - Train In Vain [DUH!]
  2. Jane's Addiction - Just Because [Fell in love with this song at my first listen.]
  3. Royal Blood - Out of the Black [Probably the closest we got to heavy metal in the soundtrack.]
  4. Thee Oh Sees - I Come From the Mountain [This song was meant for Cross-Country races.]
  5. The Bohicas - XXX [I can't help but sing along to this.]
Hospital Records Radio:
  1. High Contrast - The Road Goes On Forever [Not the most fitting song for the game, but like I care! IT'S AN AMAZING TUNE!]
  2. Danny Byrd - Like a Byrd [Danny Byrd's music always gives me a sly grin, no matter what.]
  3. Camo & Krooked - Move Around [Their new sound is so gorgeous...]
  4. Rawtekk - Photone Recruits (Phace Remix) [This song makes me want to go FAST.]
  5. Netsky - Love Life [It's Netsky, what did you expect?!]
Ninja Tune Radio:
  1. Coldcut - True Skool [OH GOD I LOVE THIS SONG.]
  2. Mr. Scruff - Champion Nibble [Mr. Scruff always makes such happy-go-lucky music, and his art style is so adorable.]
  3. The Qemists - Renegade [So much win.]
  4. The Heavy - How You Like Me Now? [Just the few intro notes are enough to say how great this song is.]
  5. Spank Rock - Rick Rubin [Creative, to say the least.]

Playing around with it today

Overall fun game.

Whilst the whole free roaming and what not is nice, I still prefer the regular Forza Games

Still this should keep me going till now and Forza 6

Still switching between this and F5

Thanks for the responses guys,

Definitely bummed about no tuning , but I had so much fun with the first one there's almost now way I won't enjoy this one! Besides I really want to support the genere, I would love to see something with the realistic cars and physics of horizon, with the huge varied maps of GTA5, without all the murder, strippers and general criminal content, which I refuse to support.

Is anybody else on the Next-Gen fence? I was completely sold on PS4, but since the mandatory kinect B.S. has been resolved, it's come down to a matter of exclusives.
Driveclub? Meh.
Forza 5? Seriously disappointed.

Where's the Jet Fighter games?
Where's the Off-Road Sims?
Where's the soft body physics?
Where's the next Splinter Cell?
Where's Just Cause 3?

And then there's that annoying fact that they both charge for online play.
But you also get a lot of free games, so...

Only time will tell I suppose.
