The Regalia D is hilariously bad to drive, but what's with the Space Shuttle-esque thrusters underneath it?
I noticed that too (since the car is so easy to roll over.) Two giant Saturn V rocket cones on the underside of the car.

I didn't get a screenshot but I just won a Hoonigan Napalm Nova in a wheelspin. Is this car new? I don't remember seeing it before.

Anyone else notice that the Forzavista/Photo Mode model of the Z has a rear seat but the in-game model doesn't? The latter is actually correct, since the exterior model is the short wheelbase 2-seat version, easily identifiable by the fuel flap being in front of the left rear wheel (It was behind on the 2+2.).

I do hope that with the next gen Xbox consoles we can get some larger maps in Horizon. After watching last nights episode of The Grand Tour the tiny speck of Scottish Highlands we get in game feels rather disappointing.

Yeah, I would very much like it if they could at least double the map size...

Although honestly I would prefer it if you can completely customize your car Test Drive style (T10 always chooses the safest/most boring interior options...) that and the ability to bring the tops up/down on convertibles.

The 650 Spyder pisses me off lol, what's the difference between the regular one if you can't bring the top down while driving around?

Of course I would prefer the map stays the same if it ends up like The Crew

I take it you haven't updated your game in awhile? :odd:

Oh? The top is only up in the Forzavista?

I didn't check because from previous games half the time the top even if down in Forzavista was down it would be up in gameplay and if it was already up in Forzavista not a chance lol.

Nice to know I got another potential cruise car.

Was the XJ220 really developed with Group B rallying in mind, as described in Forzathon? Ferrari also developed the 288 GTO for Group B regulations, but I'm quite sure it was supposed to participate in sports car racing. It just never happened because Group B was phased out soon thereafter.

It was initially developed with Group B circuit racing in mind but this changed after Group B died. PG is just being lazy with their fact checking.

I like these little-known facts on cars like this :). The XJ220 had the same engine as the MG Metro, that surprised me more.

Hope they do it again with next week's Forzathon.

The V12, AWD XJ220 Concept debuted on October 18, 1988. Even if we assume it took two full years to develop and construct the concept car, that would still put it within the timeframe of the FIA ban on Group B for rallying being public knowledge. I have to believe the XJ220 was conceived mainly for the somewhat-stillborn circuit racing side of the Group B coin, a la the Ferrari 288 GTO/Evoluzione and Porsche 959/961.

Even with a console with a thousand TFLOPS of horsepower, you're unfortunately still going to be restricted by what a team of people can create in a 2-3 year dev cycle. It's why The Crew has a gigantic map, as you say, that's mostly empty.

That applies to the cars too, I'm sure. Forza has generally gone for quantity, over the ability to extensively customize ALL of them.

I'll bet the inevitable Forza Horizon 5 has a bigger map than any previous game, but I doubt it'll be The Crew-sized, because they clearly pride themselves on the detail of their environments, whereas The Crew's map goes for quantity over quality. Plus if they keep up the seasons thing, they have to create four variations on the same basic terrain.

I'm excited to see what Forza Horizon 5 looks like on a new console (with no Xbox One S anchor around their legs), and I kinda hope that Microsoft give them a ton of time to really revolutionize their formula - maybe even another extra year, for a four year dev cycle, instead of the usual two. But I'm guessing it'll depend on how Turn 10 improve on the Forza engine for next-gen.

Hopefully we'll get extra development time for FH5... If the new consoles come out next fall it's likely FM8 will be a launch title since they've basically confirmed earlier that we won't get a FM8 this year, so 2020 release is expected... This would put FH5 at a 2021 release date at it's earliest if they don't want them to compete... Which I suppose is only an extra year...

Well, we'll see I suppose. Rather than the mess that was FM5 it seems like they are planning out FM8 a lot better for a launch title. I guess all we can do is wait and hope lol.

Have we reached the end of the current car pass? I've not got any new cars showing for this week with the last being the TVR and Cadillac.

Yes. The car pass covered 42 cars released over 21 weeks, and the TVR and Caddy were the last two. There are still new cars to grab, though. Well, new to this game, anyway. Nissan Fairlady Z Twin Turbo, TVR Tuscan, Quartz Regalia and Regalia Type-D. The Hot Wheels Boneshaker is up for grabs if you don't have it already. I think we will continue to see more cars added to the game, but they'll likely be ports of cars that have shown up in previous versions of Horizon and Motorsports. At least they've been free so far.

They've been way too slow to add cars new to FM7. :(

When I see the new content in FH4 I can't help but feel the FM7 fanbase is being used as guinea pigs at this point. Then people get a bone every now and then (M8 GTE for example). New customization upgrades don't come to FM7. No new tracks. Features left as WIP (drag mode). It's useless to add cars to FM7 after FH4 when you can't transfer designs from newer to older.

Fun fact, we know all these cars could have made it to FM7 because the leaks and even official content showed a few of the FH4-exclusive cars being tested in FM7. Not asking for the Senna, but what about the Esprit S1? Escort RS Turbo? TVR Tuscan? 356A Super? Hillman Imp? All of them suit Forza Motorsport.

The Skill Songs and Photo Mode Challenge come with Player Houses, don't they?

No idea about Photo Mode Challenges (I assumed they just got rid of them to be dicks lol) but yes on the skill songs... Don't know the specific one though. Give me a minute to Google.

The Huntsman Lounge in the middle of the woods, the only one I needed a guide to find lol.

No mention of Photo Mode Challenges, think they did remove them... And there isn't any houses to buy on Fortune Island right?

OK thank you, I will check it out. 👍

Its a shame if they did get rid of the Photo Mode Challenge, I enjoyed that in previous games.

Finished Isha's Taxis and working on British Racing Green. Kinda looking forward to Skill Streak :)

I haven't bothered with the 2 stories they've added lately. I already have the taxi and enough money, so why bother. I need another Hoonigan car even less. Fortunately, winter is starting soon. Winter is the only really unique season, and it's by far the best. Or at least, I enjoy it the most.

... I think my Fortune Island progress is broken.

"Win The Leviathan and The Kraken to become the Island Conqueror!"

I've already beaten both and have the achievements for all three...

Both my car rental and taxi is a level 1 because I suck.

I tried the Skill Streak story today. It's insanely difficult, so much more difficult than any previous story. I have no idea what they were thinking.

Other than one or two offroad missions with the extremely sluggish Trailcat that were just frustrating to play, all it really asks you to do is slide around and hit breakable things while vaguely going in the direction of the end point.

I can't say it felt any more difficult, but it did feel just as badly implemented as all the other ones. Namely the unskippable dialogue, the 1/2/3-star score counter being utterly useless in this context, and the boring car choices (at least let us tune them ourselves...).

It's easy to drift if you go off-road on those stages the car doesn't have enough power to do much on tarmac.
