And don't go over 500,000 total skill points. The game only pays out 10 mastery points at a time and each mastery point takes 50,000 skill points to earn. Anything above that is wasted. How many skill points you want to stop at is based on your car's modifier:
5X = 100,000
6X = 83,334
7X = 71,429
10X = 50,000 (only during skill songs)
Hit those numbers, stop, bank the points, then start again. I use the BMW M6 FE since it has a 7X multiplier and gains points faster during drifting. I drift up and down the Bamburgh Beach drag strip, knocking over the yellow barriers that line the drag strip as I do so. Only takes me about 90 seconds (approximately one and a half trips up and down the drag strip) to bank 71,429 points.

I'm pretty sure the M6 FE is the best car for this kind of thing, sideswipes get you almost 2,000 points each, but the airstrip is arguably a better playground for it because you can sideswipe the tape barriers, orange barriers (which also gets you Road Open bonuses), the strip is muddy tarmac so you probably go faster than on sand but still slide well...

I quite like the MC12 FE for skill point grinding, just driving between the southern and middle roundabouts on the motorway will get you four skill points when fully upgraded. At 270mph that doesn't take long at all! You can also usually find people who want to race you so it's a slightly more interesting grind.

Then you can combine the two - assuming they didn't patch it out (they mentioned a tweak ages ago that sounded like it'd fix this, haven't tried it since), driving the M6 FE on a motorway grind race where the AI gets sent on long detours to let you win can get you 10 skill points from one end to the other if you can drift enough without slowing down too much, so in a 5-lap race you might be able to get 100 points plus cash and influence. I'm not sure if I ever managed that many myself, though, as the AI would catch up eventually - you'd have to drive at about 120mph max to let the combo timer expire without accidentally getting speed bonuses.

I've tried the airstrip with the M6 FE but prefer the beach drag strip. Partly because the longer length suits my style of driving, but also because the beach strip is so long, once you get to one end, the other end of the strip has been completely rebuilt and you've got fresh tape barriers to drift through. At the airport, it's so short it never gets rebuilt.

I'm now very glad that I have almost 200 skill points saved up :D
I should note that the perk to obtain it is tucked away in the top left corner of the skill tree, meaning you'll need approximately 125 points in total.

Regalia starts at B675, in the Super Saloons (it might be GT Cars, I can't remember) category, and is an Epic tier car (although it's one of those cars that has a full skill tree despite not being a Legendary tier car). Engine swaps are 6.5L V12 and RACING V12.

Regalia Type D is C597, in the Extreme Offroad category, and is a Legendary tier car. Engine swaps are 6.5L V12 and the RACING 7.2L V8.

I should note that when viewed in the festival or at a house, both Regalias have their roofs up, but in the game world, their roofs are down. Sadly there is no option to have them permanently up.

That's true, but if you go as far as the road past the speed trap to get those orange barriers there the barriers back at the start of the strip respawn. Even without doing that though I find if you're careful and don't knock all the barriers down without scoring points off them you can get 50+ skill points before they're all gone, that's about the limit of my patience anyway so that was always enough for me!

Even better is Timeless FM. Songs on there last over ten minutes.
That was true on FH3, but FH4 Timeless FM also have very short songs.

I'm pretty sure the M6 FE is the best car for this kind of thing, sideswipes get you almost 2,000 points each,
I second that, the BMW M6 FE has been my most productive car for skill points. Set in AWD and dirt tires, it's an excellent all-around car, by far the one i used the most in FH4 (Skill points, Horizon Live, boards search and destroy, creepy sheep photos...)

The Regalia Type D Is unrealistically light, I know it's not a real car but 2.7 tonnes is not believable, it would be over 5.

I wonder when we'll finally get the Ranger Raptor.

Second expansion maybe?

We've still got these cars half-confirmed by instagram comments
  • 2019 Apollo IE
  • 20xx Debert Designs Ford Raptor? I think? One of the Deberti Design's cars anyway. Was posted here a while back
  • 1994 Venturi Atlantique 300
And these were leaked in game files at launch;
  • 2018 Aston Martin Valkyrie
  • 1987 DAF 95 Twin Turbo X1
  • 2004 Formula Drift #101 BMW M3
  • 1971 Jensen Interceptor
  • 2019 Mercedes-AMG Project One
  • 1928 Napier-Railton Railton
  • 1988 Peugeot 405 T16
It'll be interesting to see if any of these actually show up or not. The Griffith has, as well as the Hoonitruck/Escort but apart from that none of those ones leaked by pre-release files have made it in to the game.

AR12Gaming (Nick) also confirmed that the 2019 Ford Ranger FX4 XBOX Game Lab Custom Concept is coming to Forza Horizon 4.

Well this is frustrating. I can't enter the Autumn Community Championship because it's locked.

When I try to enter the race, I get this:

Except that I am connected to Horizon Life. I'm online with other players. All the other events are open to me. Just not this one.

This happened to me two weeks ago, restarting the game solved the problem.

Welp, another week of saving my Forzathon points, I have most of that, don't care about the chicken suit.
Yup, Forzathon Shop was good at the begining with "exclusive" cars or cars coming back from older games but is now a major disappointment, it is like the speciality dealer in fm7 was. And when they say they increase the price of cars in the shop because people keeps forzathon points, well it's because it doesn't attract anymore I think.

That did it. Thanks. I'm guessing the problem was that I was online when the seasons changed? It's the only thing I can think of.

I don't save them. If there's nothing in the Forzathon Shop I need, then I spend the FP on wheelspins. I make a lot of money doing that. Then I just build up the FP again for next week's shop.
