Not to keep dwelling on the seasons too much, but recently, the Sims just released a season expansion and the way it works seems like it would be an interesting idea to model after.

TMK, instead of Horizon 4 waiting a week to change seasons based on your clock. In TS4, seasons change every 7 in-game days giving you just enough time to experience them for a few hours before they change. IMO, I wouldn’t mind Horizon 4 working that way to allow people enough time to work towards season-based unlocks (like the lake barn find) without having to wait literal days.

Re: IGN comparison photos. I also think they got the map in FH3 pretty well done.

I really like that florescent tunnel near the end.

Great vid! Genuinely think this could end up being the best game I've ever played. The wait will be long.

This game is looking more and more like a game for ANYONE to enjoy, which is what I like. GOTY right here.

I also like the fact that it doesn't only focus on just race-to-become-the-best *Cough The Crew 2 Cough* because that just gets tiring after awhile, if not boring IMO. I'm going to enjoy the hell of of this game, no doubt about it.

The fesitval looks soo much better with the neon lighting and more atmospheric details like more light flags and different road types like things. Great place to take photo's. Also gaddamn i know i said it 1000 times but that lighting is just soo good.

I know it's a 30 fps game but the lighting in FH is always miles better than in FM.

At 30fps they can enable more effects and graphical features wich turn 10 can't at 60fps. But they improved alot with the dubai track and some more fantasy tracks. Hopefully they can add dynamic TOD in FM8 so we can get these nice lighting conditions in a motosport game. If not, i hope they can add better effects and lighting on X and pc.

Barn find Mini confirmed.

Isn't that more of a shed find, tho? And I wonder if getting to the UK will net us a pair of original Minilite, now that T10 has learned they can actually use the license for non-OEM racing wheels to add them in the rim selection screen, and seeing as the Escort RS1600 sports a set...

I also hope there is a gasser bodykit conversion for the Morris Minor so I can build something like this:

You and me both, but I think we all know how likely that is.

Now I have to make it my mission to find one of these buildings prior to unlocking the find and using the drone to see if I can see the car inside.

Those look more like the crappy Compomotive wheels that have been in since FM3.
If that's what I've got to use, then that's what I'm going to use. I would prefer some black 8-spoke aluminum Watanabes, but you take what you can get in this game.

Info from today's Forza Monthly Livestream...
Quoted from ManteoMax's post on the official forums as the stream is the same time my internet connection likes to crap itself every day, so I didn't get to watch it myself.

News:
- twice as many tire compounds as in FH3
- rebalanced PI especially at the low end, but the same Classes
- VIPs get to own "a really nice house for free" at the start
- everything you could do at a Festival Site in FH3 you can do at a property
- revamped suspension system (due to hills and bumps), a lot more progressive damping model, with much more difference between an offroad vehicle and a road vehicle
- drift suspension upgrade part next to the other options, 20% more (50+ degrees) steering angle, increased rate from full lock to lock, lower ride height and stance, the physics behind the scenes is what you see on screen
- we're continuing to add more body kits etc
- lots of cars and parts have been added (responding to the question about hot rod kits)
- Demo? stay tuned ("we do demos)
- PG has added a drag tire compound to FH for the first time. Tinkering with the drag suspension, "certainly something that could be applied to muscle cars" something the team is looking at and working on.
- PG observed how people played FH3 and designed the world to respond to popularity of drifting and drag online
- Fat trees won't break, skinny trees will, and you will be able to spot the difference
- "Major change to Horizon's FFB system" (some jargon I couldn't catch)
- Justin Pollock's Mustang, Josh's Maloo Ute revealed to be in the Formula Drift Car Pack

Great, a more drift happy game. I'm now really annoyed.

I'm not even mad at the fact that it is a more drift happy game, because at the very least, it gives PG the impetus to improve on the quality of the roads. It's just...I know what's going to happen: 75% or more of the lobby are going to be huddled around the few drift passes or roads that are there, and it's just going to look pathetic. Or people bombing down the longest straight with Dart Super Stocks.

If it wasn't for the fact that you don't have to worry about running into them, and you ghost everyone else that is not on your friends list, you'd have to contend with that too.

There does seem to be a lot of focus on drifting and drag, but all is quiet on the actual racing...

I mean, there is the focus on Blueprints now with the Route Creator.

Suits me! Should leave the good offroad trails and scenic drive routes nice and empty.

(Besides, there's always offline play... And maybe private sessions, too?)

Watching the stream, I had no idea that Porsche had a permanent games liaison now. I assume this has been the case since FM6 time. I guess this is why they're no longer like Toyota in their interactions with the racing game sphere.

I did cringe a bit at that because I don't really care for either of those.
This isn't a zero sum game. Making the game better for drifters and drag racers doesn't mean they have to make it worse for other players. For all the car collectors, photographers, street racers, road racers, achievement seekers, off-roaders, casual drivers and everyone else, it will remain at least as much fun as it always has been, if not more so.

That's pretty much why I'm annoyed, because I know this will lead to most of the game's online portion being drift and drag focused as that's what most players will want to do.

I have no doubt it will. However, I have that feeling with how often I saw players doing drag racing and drifting in FH3 that it will be more prominant in FH4. Oh well, I didn't play online much anyway in the previous Horizons. I'll just stick to single player unless a forzathon comes along requiring me to go online to unlock a new car or something.

Exactly. This complaint reminds me of those annoyed at Battle Royale being added to games like Battlefield and Call Of Duty. If you don't like drag racing or drifting, you don't have to play it - it just means those who do can enjoy it to a greater extent. There is nothing wrong with expanding the appeal of a franchise as long as what you like is still provided.

Some more good news;

Track width option upgrades for cars with poor fitment. For some this might not even matter, but for me it's a feature I've wanted for so long. Jonk even name dropping the 73' Escort, one of the worst offenders, is awesome.
