Well did I feel under dressed going to work yesterday. I was travelling down the A34 just north of Oxford in our lovely Renault Grand Scenic. Somehow or other I ended up in a three car convoy and boy did I feel out of place.

In front of me was a Ginetta in ice white and immediately behind me was a Lamborghini in spice green (I think that's what they call Lamborghini vibrant green).

Our Renault people carrier really didn't fit the theme of that convoy. Luckily once we came out of the 50 mph zone both cars instantly disappeared over the horizon lol.

I hope you've spraypainted "Bring back Don Thompson" on the side of your car like in your liveries. Represent!

Obviously you would have been the big boss and trumped both of them if:

1. You stick a Nurburgring sticker on the left rear of the Renault
2. You stick a "My other car is a Koeningsegg One:1" on the right rear of the Renault
3. You stick a D100 FWD sticker on the rear window

Mrs Edax would kill me if I tarted the car up, but these replies did make me giggle.

I REALLY want the Morgan.
I’ve been a fan of Morgan since the ‘70s when I first started reading about them in Road & Track magazine. When I joined the Air Force, my first assignment was R.A.F. Upper Heyford. It was 1982 and I road my motorcycle out to Malvern Link just to visit the factory. It’s a highlight of my life.

Oh, I have one more thing to add to my recent newbie review of FH5: One of my pet peeves in Gran Turismo 7 is the roulette system. I think it is poorly implemented, misleading and ultimately frustrating. In contrast, the wheelspins in FH5 are much better. Forza gives you the impression that there are many more different prizes to win than just 5, and it appears to be more random rather than pre-determined based on how many stars your ticket has.

That is one strong argument for going multiplatform in this gaming era. Seriously, the only "exclusive" title there is The Last of Us 2 and even that is relative because it was recently released on PC. The next FH game may be a timed exclusive but with a short release window before it's released on PS5, like Indiana Jones (6 months, I believe).

Enjoyed both the seasonal Eventlabs, especially Miami Vice. Hopefully the next game has a proper large urban environment, it's one of the few advantages of TCM over this game.

I did the Miami Vice eventlab today and found a truck car trailer on the, well I just call it back straight, which you can use to jump through a construction site of a building. If you time it right, you jump between 2 levels and power on straight to the next gate.
Managed to do it on both laps. Was quite a fun surprise since I didn´t remember this the first time this eventlab was out 😏

The other EventLab Parabolic has a few rough edges. Plenty of stone outcrops for AI cars to snag on and cause a pileup. No idea why they chose to specify hypercars for this week's event.

[EDIT] Also attempted the trial with a slightly tweaked version of the stock car required. It didn't help as I came last in both races. Guess spec events aren't for me.

@Seb75 thank you bud for the top tip on the Miami Vice Eventlab concerning the trailer ramp. I'd already played it but went back to check the ramp. It really boosts you ahead of the pack doesn't it.

@UKMikey I'm with you bud. The other Eventlab has some nasty snag points on it's corners. Aesthetics wise it looks stunning, but it's a pain to race.

Finally I'm bloody loving all the neon barriers back on the race tracks in game. If we are going to Japan in FH6 then I would love neon barriers on all the tracks there. I think it would fit in beautifully.

You are welcome bud 😁. I replayed that eventlab again with the AI drivers set to "unbeatable" and it was one of the parts in the track where I managed to get ahead of the last drivers to take the win 😅

@sirjim73 Nice, a Stargate convention. I envy you, hope you had a good time👍

Odd name given that only one of those people ascended.

And he did it twice.
Nitpick! :P
Maybe it's a reference to the hotel lifts...

Plus they couldn't go with the obvious choice "Chevron" as that was used for several events 20 years ago.

EDIT: The last talk of the weekend was RDA and Michael Shanks. Well, when I say talk, I mean 60 minutes of Michael corpsing constantly and RDA saying "what was the question?" a lot... RDA doesn't have much recall of specific things during SG1 and wanders off topic constantly and hilariously. I've NEVER encountered a more surreal and hysterical hour.

Anyway, back on topic. What was the question? ;) I'm still finding my FP has increased by >1000 every Thursday when I log on and used 2 passes this week to buy both the Morgan and Ford Woody which I'd missed previously.

I'm really struggling with understanding the controller situation in FH5 on PS5.

I usually start up and operate my Playstation with the DualSense controller. The Fanatec only comes into play before I actually start driving, and I prefer to use the controller for menu navigation as it is much less cumbersome than the wheel. In GT7, this all works fine.

In FH5, sometimes this works fine. Most times however, the DualSense gets ignored by the game as soon as I've registered the wheel to the PS5 as a controller. I've tried to figure out the system behind this, e.g. if it matters which controller I enter the game with. So far I didn't find a pattern.

Yesterday the DualSense did continue to work in the game after introducing the wheel, but the controller had an input lag of roughly one second for any input, menu or playing. Everything worked with the controller, just with a one second delay.

Is there a system I'm not seeing, or is this simply poorly implemented?

Just started the Rally Adventure DLC and have to agree with opinions online, the map and roads are much better than the main one. Very much enjoying doing some proper rallying, even on tarmac which isn't usually my thing.

Cheers bud. Just popped on to see if anyone knew what the update was for, and there you were waiting for me lol.😂😂

Yeah, well, a series of catastrophic actions has led me to reinstall the whole 148.9 GB on PC... :banghead:
Mate that's awful. This is why PC gaming scares the hell out me. I still refer back to my kids for help on the phone sometimes, if I owned a PC I'd move them back in with us lol.

I hope it all loads back alright for you.

Thanks all, the reinstall was successful and no game data was lost (it shouldn't be). PC gaming is not that complicated, but once in a while things happen that otherwise wouldn't in a console.
