This, I think, should be the best take, at least for launch cars that haven't received new models. Like, we know the Toyota Soarer we got in Back to the '90s is going to supplant the SC300, no doubt about that. But unless it's something like the open-air Sion (the SC20?) and the open-air Aventador, cars with multiple variants in FH5 should indeed be restricted to their base model and at least two higher performance models.
This also practically confirms the Toyota Land Cruiser 250 for FH6.

Probably holiday season if I had to guess, but I mostly think the reason it's not day-and-date is because this is a major first-party IP release that's a new game and not a remaster--no one said timed exclusivity was off the table, even though Phil Spencer no longer believes in full exclusives.

Can't see it being no later than fall, especially if GTA 6 gets another delay
It’s not a rumour, Microsoft confirmed it themselves when they announced the game.
I can see one of those two, but I also can see the Corvette ZR1/ZR1X or the Mustang GTD as the cover cars. Plus if they do get the GR GT, it'll likely be the prototype version and not the final version, but I don't think the prototype version would stop them from making it the cover car, but who knows.
