Noticed something earlier while comparing cars across games, the numberplate is larger than the version we had on most cars in Mexico.

I did some napkin math with the livery editor on a car that appears in both games and I think it’s about 37.5cm wide, which is a little bit larger than most real-life Japanese plates, which are 33cm for most cars.

Big Board is mostly for trucks and such, Middle Board is the most common: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_Japan

Anyway, with all cars in the game using a unified plate design (with colour swaps for Forza Edition cars), the plate can be used as a reference point for any livery design elements that have specific size requirements in real life (like numberboards for various racing series).

Forza’s mapping means that the livery editor isn’t uniformly scaled across cars, so a 1.00x1.00 square could be different sizes depending on what car it’s applied to.
Now that I can check against in-game instead of a video I can confirm the Horizon plates match real life Japanese medium sizes, 33x16.5cm

Don’t know if Kei cars have smaller plates in this game or just different colour, but at least I have a consistent reference for some measurements.

Ultimately, there's only one thing I am waiting to find out, and this will have a critical impact on how long I play FH6 for.
Which is, is there going to be an alternative to the weekly FOMO other than waiting for Backstage Passes to appear in about 4 years time.
We now know that weekly FOMO is back, due to the season 1 details. Albeit I think we still don't know how points are won towards the 20 and 40 totals?
I CANNOT go through another 3.5 years of having to play every, single, week, without fail.
I had to take 2 breaks in FH5 as I was completely burnt out on the game due to the endless FOMO, but was at least able to catch up on the cars I missed this year.

Don't be afraid of missing out some cars and you'll be much happier. I will have a month long summer family trip and I won't give a damn about any FOMO contents.

I've gone through the "official" (joke) car list and the actual game Autoshow/Car Pass/Barn Find & Treasure Car/DLC Add-Ons lists and update the Master Car List with details and acquisition locations. There's a bunch I've no idea about, which will probably be Wheelspins/Playlist rewards. Haven't looked at the playlist announcement yet...

PS5 user here with a question.

Has anyone checked the R246 yet?

Pics please?
Anyone? Please.
I'm not sure quite what you're asking. If it's whether the road, or the Gran Turismo circuit which features the road as its main straight, is in the game then no. The map is interpretative, not exact.

However, there is a location which looks like it draws inspiration from the road layout:

But, bearing in mind that the map isn't quite as aligned to the compass in the game as it is in the real world, you need to rotate it a bit...

Edit: Only really the approach to the loop resembles the GT circuit in driving.

I wish you could teleport to Stunt Parties. By the time I drove up to the top of the map everyone had packed up and gone home already. 😭

I'm going back to Tokyo to do "the knowledge" by discovering all the roads and mascots but some of the roads are so narrow that I've ended up destroying more of the city than Godzilla did in the first movie. I've put my racing career on hold temporarily while I try and do it region by region.

Fortunately the map zoom is a bit zoomier which helps. I think I'm leaving the bonus boards for when I'm a bit more familiar with the map as some of them have traditionally been harder to get.

Can anyone confirm if the Nissan Stagea now has Autech parts in customization? Seems like they added new parts to other vehicles since the pre release build.

IGN Deutschland on the other hand... 😬
The almost complete absence of animals also surprised me. No cats on the roofs, no Shiba Inus in the audience, no wild animals darting by. At least I occasionally hear cicadas or a few birds gliding overhead.
What a strange critique to have about the game.
For those who want to unwind after work in a breathtaking miniature version of Japan, collect cars, and experience spectacular set pieces along the way, there are currently few better options.
Huh? Such as what exactly?

I think this is the more standard IGN review people have come to meme about where the reviewer is expecting more than they're familiar with on a franchise.

Okay, everyone on the Trolli P50 list has been sent new receipts, except @willbsn13. Sorry, my friend. I miscounted and came up one short. I’ll get you one tomorrow.

On the other hand, I’ve got a nice selection of energy drinks and more gummies than I will ever need.

its so strange see meiji gaidai without the sports stadiums around it, specially the meiji stadium that even shows up on gran turismo 4

also one the first things i will try find on the game is find a baseball field, its strange if they dont have any considering how big baseball is in Japan cof cof showei ohtani and dodgers truck

Looks like IGN really liked it. Gave it a 10.
it will be the best game of year not named GTA6

Is the Toyota Celica GT-Four one of the cars that was updated? I swear it looks different than in the previous games. More on model with a real one.

I've dug thru the credits and found these interesting licenses:

1778825041200.webp

1778825066647.webp

1778825114421.webp

TLDR: Some interesting new brands spotted as licensing partners:
I guess we are playing the waiting game then.
Sometimes, just because a car manufacturer is mentioned as a licensing partner doesn't mean that it's a guarantee to be in the car list eventually. For example, Felino was mentioned in FH5/FM23's credits as a license partner, yet the CB7 never appeared.

For me that was a cracking track from GT3,many happy hours on it.Ah,the whiff of nostalgia.👍

It’s been three hours of continuous “You have been disconnected” alerts, but it doesn’t appear to affect the gameplay. I’ve made some food deliveries, got my first wristband, found my first barnfind, have a couple leads on treasure card, and I’m heading up north to check out Mei’s abandoned family home. I’ve even done a very mild paint job on my GR86. Love the window stickers and the metallic flake paint. It’s been fun so far.

I think this is lost in translation. That figure of speech would be interpreted the other way round in German - less "there are a few better options", more "hard to imagine better options".

I think this is the more standard IGN review people have come to meme about where the reviewer is expecting more than they're familiar with on a franchise.
I disagree, I think it's very valid to criticise aspects of a game even if you have come to expect them from the previous entries in the series.

This is not written for Forza Horizon enthusiasts (who are gonna buy anyway) but a broader audience.

Just brushing all things that could be improved aside with "but that's just Horizon/CoD/2k for you" is poor journalism. There's some very valid points in there regarding progression that have irked me in every Horizon since at least 3.
