Forza Horizon 6 - General Discussion

Has anyone broken down the graphics to say what engine it's likely to be, an updated FH5 one by Playground, or the new Motorsport engine by Turn 10, but made to look nicer? Although they were never able to deliver what they promised in their trailer on console, did anywhere mention what this was running on, I thought that was a modern Microsoft policy?

Some commentators mentioned it looks like a shinier FH5, in Japan. From watching the show I thought I saw elements of the fictional track Turn 10 gave us before they lost half their employees, but maybe not.

I'm hoping it has Motorsport's wheel handling, but with more of an 'attached to the road' feel. Maybe they could do the FH5 graphics, with Motorsport's physics underneath?

In terms of FOMO, I'll try it for a month via a trial of GamePass, provided I can take out such a trial on another user account which isn't the main account on my Series X, if anyone knows? I don't want to use my own as it'll interupt a 3 year plan I took out for EA Play for £20 per year, I think worked out at £1.67 a month, rather than the £23 a month they ask for GamePass until their next price hike, no thanks.

I mainly had GamePass before after seeing the Motorsport trailer and expecting that's what 'nextgen' would look like, but also because MSFS would run on it, when it struggled to run on high end gfx cards - Tokyo is nice to fly around, I can't see us getting much.

Comparing FH4's Edinburgh to the real version (despite how small Edinburgh is compared to other cities) is comical especially if arriving from the Lake District a couple of minutes before, but still cute, and a better game than FH5. Was Tokyo meant to be 5x the size of that, or just 5x the size of the village in Mexico? Edinburgh by helicopter was fun in MSFS, I do miss that without GamePass but could probably take a real helicopter tour if I create a GamePass NOMO fund for the length of my EA Play experience.

At first I never took to Motorfest, but my son loved it so bought it on sale, with year 2 for the police he loves, I'll try and earn the RC car, however I do that from year 3 when they appear. I preferred the Crew 2 and look forward to them doing that for Europe. The other two studios that left Playground are on my watchlist, but so far, this is only looking at that one month GamePass trial to impress, then I can live without Microsoft. Terrible timing just before the World Cup to keep anyone interested. Then just before or just after GTA VI on PS which I would buy if looking at a console now if I hadn't bought the Series X.

Debating a PC next time, depending what the Xbox PC and it's cost turns out to be...
Tokyo is 5x the size of Guanajuato (per the FAQs on Forza site I think - I know I've seen it somewhere  ). Guanajuato must be bigger than Edinburgh, even though Edinburgh "feels" bigger it can't be.

I’m still a bit surprised that after five straight games, they’re finally including the largest city in the place we’re visiting. No Denver, Paris/Rome, Sydney or Melbourne, London, or Mexico City in the previous games. But this time around, we get Tokyo. They could have easily gone with Osaka or Kyoto, or, like with Guanajuato, an even smaller but very picturesque town. I don’t think anyone would have complained. Well, complained too loudly. We all know some people will complain about anything. I’m genuinely looking forward to it.

I’m just hoping we can get a City Pop radio station so I can listen to Plastic Love by Mariya Takeuchi while chilling in my Kenmeri Skyline under the night lights of Roppongi.

Osaka or Kyoto
osaka and kyoto are big cities, they may not be big as tokyo, but i think that they could be as small FH4 edinburg was
osaka is the 2nd largest city, both kyoto and osaka has traditional rivalities with tokyo (east vs west japan, kansai vs kanto, Yomiuri Giants vs Hanshin Tigers so on and on)

My knowledge of Japanese music is absolutely non existent. I'm really looking forward to hearing some homegrown music and hopefully finding some gems that I like.

My music taste is primarily guitar based; UK indie or heavy metal. However, I'll listen to almost anything. The only genre I really don't like is happy hardcore dance music. So with that info out there can any of you fine educated petrol heads recommend any good Japanese music I might like?

Thanks in advance.👍🎵🎵🎵

I have been screaming this from every rooftop imaginable since FH2, the next reasonable evolution of the series is including real-world track locations on the map.

With Motorsport on ice for the foreseeable future, there's absolutely no better time to capitalize on that than now. Can you imagine driving to Suzuka or Fuji Speedway? Seamless switching between track-based and open-world racing.

Hear, hear. Imagine if they have this one as a surprise:

And they could do a faux version of Tsukuba... ah @PJTierney volunteers!

I'm afraid I don't know enough either, only ones I know of border on hardcore with hard trance so probably not for you, Yoji Biomehanika and Nish.

Saw Yoji here maybe a decade ago he started off with some upfront EDM though so maybe he toned things down a bit, maybe he'll feature. Think Nish's excellent album Euphoride was the last I heard from him.

Recall sharing JDM's request for music and wondering what Eurobeat was, but it's fast hypercheese like happy hardcore but more pop orientated. They share their Spotify playlist so maybe some other genres made it on?

From reddit. Looks like we'll be seeing the usual suspects returning in terms of Radio Stations

Horizon Bass Arena
Horizon Pulse
Horizon XS
Horizon Block Party
I assume the last one is Timeless records on here.
that could be a new radio station full of euro beats, timeless was a radio focused to bring british classic music to the game, that could be the same thing but with eurobeat mostly because theres so many references to initial d in trailers

Maximum the Hormone might be worth checking out then. I'm fond of their album Bu-Ikikaesu, where the following song can be found.

A wonderful mix of Japanese, metal, bizarre English titles and quality musicianship.

PGR maps were not bustling cities & the locations they picked were not exactly large.

Los Angeles International Airport, famously next door to the Port of Los Angeles.

I've never played Watch Dogs, but you tell people this is Chicago, & they'd look at you with concern for your mental health.
huh.webp

Horizon 6 getting knocked for accuracy b/c of some xenophobic remark & then you reference games that had the same approach? Please, don't continue your habit of saying stupid things in this thread.
All that complaining again, yet you'll still put 30+ hours into it like FM23... got it.
I mean he got tourist in his name so...

Excuse Me What GIF

While not immediately within...whatever it is you're talking about, there's this track locale in PGR 3 and 4 by the name of Nurburgring Nordschleife and it is hilariously wrong.

And not to mention that Forza Horizon has never done 1:1 recreations of any of its locations since 2012.

Also gonna need some kind of substantiated source on the "indian outsourcers" remark, or is that just xenophobic nonsense?
Doesn't even feel like japan, more like american's vision of japan, sterile and sanitized, soulless and corporate.

What made you completely change the original intention of this reply, I wonder? Because you originally said this:

Look at any forza credits, 80% of the game is made by indian and thai outsourcing studios, PG and T10 then cobble together their work.

Only to then edit it in its entirety to something that's even more daft?

Here’s a playlist I made for you.

Much later down the line, when the car list gradually gets revealed leading up to release, I'm going to count on Suzuki making their return to Forza (the Cappuccino, Jimny Sierra and Swift Sport are among their most important vehicles) and the introduction of Daihatsu.

I hope so. I currently own a Suzuki Swift Sport ZC33S, and it’s really fun to drive. Really fuel efficient as well.

I have also seen a Suzuki Cappuccino on display at a local Suzuki dealership. So cool!
