It's a shame because FH5 has the best D class of all FH games. I hope we get more sub class racing, where for example, D100-D300 get championships, while D300-D499 get their own. With the car list being so big now, I feel they can afford being more granular while making races and championships.
I think reintroducing the E or even F classes would be the simpler solution, but yeah I agree.

I do think the PI system needs a bit of a rework though. It feels like there’s a gulf of performance difference between the D100 cars. Start with the Peels at 100, perhaps the Valkyrie AMR at 999, and go from there. But with nearly a thousand cars and countless upgrades to scale for the system, it’s probably too much a task to program from scratch like that.

While we're complaining about classes, I always felt there was too vast of a gap between top and bottom of S1 and especially S2. At the bottom of S2 you have things like...a fancy Mustang or something. At the top of S2, you have full blown hypercars that can go 300 mph. It's ridiculous that they're in the same class.

I completely agree with splitting the lower classes too.

Also, since I'm complaining about things like an old man shaking his fist at clouds, can we get some better sortability in the menus? Not just better car sorting (and multiple methods of marking, please), but things like vinyls and liveries. There is no sorting at all, there, just a list from first to most recent. When you have almost a thousand liveries like I do, if you want to find a specific one you have to scroll...and scroll...and scroll...and hope you don't accidentally go past it without noticing. You can't even sort by car or date or whether the livery has been shared or anything. Come on, that's essentially a basic feature Windows has had forever! It shouldn't be that difficult!

Why can't they just go Z to A, there's enough cars now to fill out 20+ classes...?

Introducing lower classes would make a whole lot of sense if they add a bunch of old kei cars from the 360cc era, and probably even the 550cc era.

Personally, I think that the critical thing would be to have a map where racing smaller and slower cars is actually fun. Tight roads with slow corners where even a Beetle will need to brake, rather than the previous style of making every road 6+ cars wide with even the hairpins allowing a fast and sweeping line. The FH5 rally expansion took a tiny step in that direction with the mountain pass on the west side, but it's still got very broad roads in general.

In terms of map design, twisty roads are basically directly opposed to making it drive like a NFS2 track, with casual players able to do 200mph in their hypercar everywhere. I think it's going to be a difficult balance for Playground to strike, if they do want to introduce a range of kei cars. They work in Gran Turismo because tracks like Autumn Ring Mini or Tsukuba are fun even at Wagon R speeds, but I don't know how much of a Horizon map can be dedicated to roads like that without annoying the players who just want to blast about in a Bugatti.

It's not unheard of to produce a map with tight roads either, TDU SC has a small area of Ibiza in 1:1 scale where doing 70mph through the oldest parts in an Abarth 500 starts to feel fast, and JDM has roads that are almost frustratingly narrow at times. Both are much more niche titles than the Game Pass leading Horizon series though, and the latter has a much, much lower average performance level for its car list.

With GTA 6 delayed to November 2026, do you think this has any influence on the FH6 release?

My opinion:
I think if GTA was not delayed until Nov. FH6 would have taken that timeframe and now that GTA has been delayed we might even see it in May. And if we start seeing footage/gameplay of FH6 in January (probably dev direct), its still 4-5 months of time for forza monthly/lets go streams and everything.
FH5 also had about 5 or 6 months of that and FH4 had 4 also, so not unrealistic.

Nah, all non-GTA games now pushed back to 2027

Sounds like...
Coming day one to game pass ultimate
...good news.
Might even...
Coming day one to game pass ultimate
...get a release date...
Coming day one to game pass ultimate
...if we're lucky.

I suspect we will only...
Coming day one to game pass ultimate
...get an "in-game engine" trailer...
Coming day one to game pass ultimate
...at this stage.

If it is first half of 2026 release, I think there will be a release date announcement.
If not, I think its probably second half of 2026 (early September to be well before that other game releases ;) )
