Can't say I endorse this video wholeheartedly, but I was interested in what Alex had to say. I loved the bit when he crashed into another car while saying the roads were too wide. Needless to say, I wouldn't like even more drifting in this game but having different scoring mechanics for the story dorifto club missions and Touge races (which, as he points out, the GRiD series arguably did better) could definitely shake the game up a little.

On the whole his criticisms seem to be from a slightly more hardcore perspective though. Do a majority of players really want the whole game to be like this week's Nachi Run round in Street Fighter or progression events to be locked behind cars that are unavailable in the Autoshow?

If your answer to the above question is "I don't care what the majority think" then I'm not sure you understand what the game is about or what made it so successful.

Anyone having trouble completing daily challenges?

Winner Winner - Win 2 road Circuit Races
I have won 2 circuit road races, in fact, in actual circuits. I choose the horizon festival option. The daily challenge did not trigger.
I tried the custom race option. I chose two other circuit road races (not sprints), won both, and it still did not trigger the challenge.
It just triggered for me. I wonder if “road circuit” does not actually include road racing circuits? I did my two races on street circuits.

I thought I'd done two road circuits but I guess I hadn't as, when I did another road circuit a couple of days ago, the playlist point popped for me.

Here's the other Failrace video. This is about tyres, so I'm hoping any overall comments about the game will be relegated to the comments.

The wide roads criticism is the one I see the most and while I understand why some people are a bit disappointed, the reason why the roads are wide is quite obvious.

The lack of new gameplay cristicism is one I do find myself agreeing with. Touge is the only real new race mode, but it's effectively just a 1v1 race. Rush is basically just a showcase with tighter turns. Stories are a tad disappointing as well, I haven't done all of them yet, but the ones I've done are effectively exactly the same gameplay as 4 and 5 with a new voiceover. The delivery missions especially I think could have been more interesting. As good as the game is, I would say it's reasonable to have expected a bit more novelty on the gameplay side.

That said when you look at previous games, almost all the gameplay innovations came from the DLCs so I'm looking forward to what they come up with this time.

So, this is one of the numerous reasons I dislike online play. But I decide to try the Hide and Seek festival challenge to get the free car and after about 1 minute I got disconnected, not sure how as my internet connection is otherwise stable. No problem, I'll just try again me thinks, but for some reason I'm getting this:

Anyone fathom a clue as to why I might be getting this? Surely the developers aren't stupid enough to lock someone out for something as daft as losing connection.

All the single player stuff has been great so far though.

This feature was introduced back in FH5. Basically it supposed to prevent someone from quiting mid game on purpose to maintain their winning streak/no lose. But unfortunately the same consequences also happened when you are losing connection or your pc/console turned off during game.

Really enjoying FH6. Has such a fantastic feel to it and I leave the radio station on Gatcha for even further immersion and authenticity 😊 Nice to see the playlist rewards are a little easier to obtain than previously (15 and 30 points respectively)

Being able to place your grid and customise the grid itself it’s a game changer for me in Event Lab, it’s fantastic.

What’s the huge shame is the prop selection. I don’t understand how it’s missing so many obvious essentials from the game? No up to date FH6 start line gantries, no colour variance in any of the festival props (Grandstand, signage etc), and what they’ve kept from FH5 and what they’ve taken out is a little bewildering.

They’ve done a pretty great job decorating the world and it’s Time Attack circuits with in universe branding, how come none of it was included in Event Lab? The TA tracks are covered in realistic billboards and signs that’d be perfect to detail created circuits.

I guess it could be held for an Event Lab seasonal event later on.

I made quite a lot of logo's and liveries in FH5 and I used the function to import them into FH6. It said that I would get a note in the Message Centre when the process was complete. I was waiting with no luck so I just decided to check and there they were. Looking forward to redoing some of my FH5 designs and working on some new creations. I've got a new way of overlaying a window over the game so I can make logo's faster and more accurately.

A sneak peak of my WIP NY Jets Viper. It's a bit spartan and simple at the moment but its a good starting point.

What is the share code in FH5 for Jets logo. I have looking some NY sport team logos and the ones I have found have not been good

Ah, I skipped 5, probably why I'm enjoying 6 as much as I am. Shame developers do things like this, does anyone really care if someone quits and keeps their streak? I don't. I do care that I have to wait 10 minutes if my connection drops. I did manage to complete a match, not sure I'll do any online stuff outside of the festival playlists if I want the car. The single player game has been great though.

Has anyone been able to beat the Colossus, on Highly Skilled or above, fair and square? If you have something that does 350KPH, the drivatars show up doing 360KPH. If you show up with something that does 450KPH, they show up with something that does 460KPH. The only method that worked was Koenigsegg Jesko and Hail Melon as much as possible.

Not sure if it's been posted, but you can actually complete the upcoming daily Forzathon challenges before they're even active.

And the "Played-list" trophy/achievement refers to obtaining all points within a single season, not the entire Festival Playlist series, thus making it a significantly less annoying trophy than FH5's "Min, Meet Max".

The only trophy/achievement that's truly annoying is the one where you have to get 100 levels in Horizon Play, as it can be one hell of a grind-fest.

One suggestion I've read is to have delivery missions outside the city. Unfortunately driving up to the ski resort or halfway up Mount Haruna would intensify the grindy aspect if all you got was a "yay food thx" and a couple of dozen thousand Cr for each one.

Maybe they could've upped the drama with missions like a rival delivery driver going rogue* and you have to ram him off the road Chase H.Q. style but I don't think that's the vibe they were going for.

What'd be nice is if we were allowed to keep our points multiplier between shifts. That'd help flatten out the progression curve and reduce the grind IMO while still giving you an incentive to get ✪✪✪ reviews.

They could also let higher ranked drivers hoon around in Ferraris and Koenigseggs or trick out their Actys for faster deliveries. That way I might be able to hit the 55 drift skill requirement or be able to ace the wreckage rounds with a giant truck.

*(Bonus points if his gamertag is FinalVance or bowie knife99)

Only about a zillion times, lol. But thank you for sharing.

If like say more kei trucks (e.g. Daihatsu Hijet, Subaru Sambar or Suzuki Carry) get added to FH6, this should see a deeper dive into the Raku Raku Express delivery stories, rather than just being a stale grind-fest of a side quest.

Other vehicles that could make this Horizon job/story more exciting would be the Toyota HiAce, Nissan NV350 Caravan, or Mercedes V 250 d.

Other than these, I mostly agree with your ideas.

Yeah not sure ramming cars respects the Festival spirit

I think the easiest improvement would have been to make you buy the Acty and pay for upgrades with delivery money. And maybe later other vans. A mini campaign of sorts.

Other things I think would have been cool, though probably harder to implement:
  • A special "delivery" mode city, with more traffic
  • Rival delivery companies to beat
  • Paying for damages to the city infrastructure
  • Upgrades for cold/hot food based on seasons

Does anyone else put the XS channel on while ferrying food around the city for that kerrr-azeee taxi vibe?

AND their 460kph car will have an amount of grip that is wayyyyy beyond what your 450kph car has, as you've been forced to ditch aero and grippy tyres to hit that speed. I've won against Unbeatable, but only by using rewind, which sometimes causes the AIs to bug out and crash, letting you win. I do want to see what I can do with the P1 some time if I try different builds. With the Venom F5 I can look competitive against the AI until I get to the first significant corner and it becomes clear they have like triple my grip while matching my speed.

Just searched on YouTube and didn't find anyone beating it, but did find yet more evidence of how the AIs simply go around the track 5 secs or so faster than your pace. I put 2 screenshots up in the past showing the AI driving 6:05 and 6:22 with the Centenario, depending my own car and pace, and now I see it's a 7:00 car if you drive slow enough!

Have to admit this is a bold move considering how pissed off people are with the AI at present. The replies on Twitter must be like World War III.
Probably not indicative of anything other than 'we know this is a problem' but I do wonder if this means they're going to say 'not going to fix, by design, git gud'. That might taint word of mouth in this critical early stage of the game.

That being said, they're probably aware the AI is too strong. I wouldn't be surprised if they see dips in engagement with endgame content over this issue and decide to fix it.

Does anyone else feel like the current season looks worse than the previous one graphically? On Series X in 60 fps the tree LoD pop-in is quite close and distracting, I don't think I saw this issue last week

We have Blizzard Mountain in the north. The beaches along the coast remind me so much of FH3. The woods are straight out of FH4. The progression system is back to the good old days as well. There are so many bends, junctions and layouts that remind me of previous maps. These are just a few off the top of my head while I write this in my lunch break, I'm sure you guys will have some comparisons also.
I may be reaching here but Sotoyama is beginning to dredge up ancient memories of Forza Motorsport 3 and 4.

So it turns out it's not just the Daily Challenges that can unlock early. The Seasonal Job just popped for me despite that challenge being three days away. What the heck is goin' on here?

EDIT: Turns out, doing it that way doesn't award you with the Be-1. Maybe once next week's stuff pops I'll get it, but I didn't get it from the early pop.

I have the same problem.

So today I got the badge for 81 story stars, even though I have not finished the stories. I think it was counting stars from the delivery job? I did not get the achievement for 81 story stars, so that is probably not intended.
