Kinda funny how an Xbox title has reached wider cultural significance after many years of just existing. The uptick in Xbox's clout has grown considerably since the new CEO came in.
I’d go as far as to say Horizon is the only Xbox franchise (besides Call of Duty, but I wouldn’t even count that since that was never something they created) to even have any cultural relevance. Halo and Gears are undoubtedly big, but they all peaked around 15 years ago and nobody really brings up any of the titles past the 360 unless they’re a dedicated fan.
I think it's hilarious that the '98 Pennzoil GT-R is a barn find. A championship winning car would never be dumped in a barn! Nissan has the bloody thing in the Heritage Collection so it should've just been a prize car.
I mean, these things do happen:

I’m willing to bet the devs took inspiration from this exact example, though I do agree that a championship winner from a factory works team wouldn’t have fallen into the same fate.

I don't think there's much intent on the part of the devs at all. It's the same game as previous games, with some tweaks. I think they made it harder to get wheelspins because some people, representing an unknown percentage of all players, complained FH4 and FH5 gave them things too easily. Even though they've made it harder in FH6, people are still complaining the game gives them too much. There's clearly also a huge number of people who just want to have access to all the cars, based on the popularity of event lab creations that help in farming them. The devs have historically not been super keen on these event lab creations, manually hiding them from the lists sorted by popularity, even if they're the most popular, but haven't been so against them as to remove them, so they remained accessible to people who knew how to find them, e.g. via YouTube videos by the creators.
I honestly think this is the right balance. I agree that FH5 gave players way too much through Wheelspins, but honestly, I've only ever had the 'free hypercar that breaks progression' Wheelspins happen, like, twice in 6. A couple days ago I got the Venom F5, and yesterday, right before the season switch, I got an FXX K, but those never happened in my first week of play.

I'd argue instead that FH6 made up for that by providing oodles of ways to get free currency--Horizon Arcade gives you 100,000 credits a pop, Horizon Jobs exist, and simply exploring the map, popping regional mascots, and getting rid of 'fog of war' on the minimap gives you plenty as well. You're never really 'wanting' for credits, and that's a good thing since the game wants you to spend as much of it as possible.

It's not a new model, they've only slightly reworked it. The engine bay/engine itself is still too big and the headlights are still a bit weird. Still, having the proper Mugen bodykit is a life changer. I haven't bothered driving the CR-X in ages, but now that it's available with the accurate Pro-2 kit, I've put about 300 miles on it already.
Thats unfortunate. Hopefully when the Ferrari 575M Maranello and Golf 3 GTI and Golf 4 R32 return that they are remodelled and that that would be the reason as to why they were removed. I can see that they finally have the time to remodel outdated car models thanks to longer development times.

I did all that and only ended up with six million credits (plus an additional ten mil or so which were spent on engine parts and houses) so I'm not about to splurge on a massive spending spree right now and will concentrate on trying to get the cars I need to complete specific events.

If I can't progress because of missing cars, as with Unlimited Offroad before I found the BRZ at Sotoyama, I think that only then will I really feel like I'm missing out. That category really needs more than one car which can keep up with bowie et al.

I still having hope of a Toyota Supra GT500 coming in Horizon; R33 needs some friends :-P

I have them all completed. Maybe the console version has more bugs than the PC version.
I'm on on PC too, can't comment on the console version. Fortunately it popped once I reached level 16. It was so weird. It did not pop in levels 14, or 15. but when I leveled up to 16 it also gave me the reward from level 12.

I'm that sort of player that likes to see everything checked out, even if it is irrelevant gaming wise. So it was a bit frustrating when I I encountered that bug. Surely they can check if the sum of the Horizon Festival Points of that category in the journal match the Horizon Play level, because players unlock the journal boxes sequentially (one box per level) and they give a fixed amount of Horizon Festival points. That sort of check seems to have happened but a few levels later. I wonder if the bug happened in the last level if it was fixable with the current build. I hope it doesn't happen.

I guess its bugged for some while for others it works. I have the Horizon Play one fully working and have done all 25 tasks. I too am a completionist.

I’m thinking T10/PG being buddy buddy enough with Toyota to get the GR on the cover was enough for them to also possibly get access to some of their heritage fleet, including some of their GT500 stuff as well as a few others (GT-One road car? A man can dream…)

Well, I made a request in the new feedback portal. I asked for a traffic density switch (normal/low/off) at least for offline play if not possible in online mode. This is because many times my cruising or speed traps/zones/danger signs runs have been ruined by dense patches of slow and clumsy AI cars, or by cars that appear from nowhere while making a turn, as the number of crossings and tight, blind corners here is considerable.

What do you think, and would you consider voting on the subject? Thank you.

I would definitely consider voting that. It is very annoying

Probably because they gave us the 400R kit for the R33 GT-R they just remodeled.
Its missing the 400R grille and a few other things though. I feel like we could see the actual thing in a future update. Its a very rare and special car. They seem to have a good relationship with Nissan at the moment.

Two instant downloads for me. I love the Beat (insert Gloria Estefan record here), but not so much the itasha livery I was forced to download since at the time it was the only one I could find which had a racing number board on it. A high quality Raku liv was also sorely missing from the lineup last time I looked. Thanks.
