I have to agree on not wanting a HW and/or LEGO Expansions, they were fun back on its day, but Horizon 6 claims for something new, fresh, and...something that connects with the location, people have been expecting Japan for the longest time, so if the expansions happen to be a cheap tie-in with any brand that would work on literally any location in the planet, it's definitely a big miss.

The LEGO collab worries me since a 3rd Hot Wheels expansion would be a joke at this point, but...a 2nd LEGO expansion is definitely something I can see happening, to make it even with HW. We'll see...
Yeah, I'd much prefer to see content that relates to the location. Neither LEGO nor HW interest me tbh.

Just in general I’d really like to know how the community feels about drifting in FH, because the only time I read about it is when people complain about it.

Hate it personally. Mostly because it’s not about pulling off cool drifts around corners, but waggling around on straights like a moron.

So my impression is the focus they put on drifting is maybe not really justified.
I agree that the straight parts of drift zones are a pain and the dirt/gravel drift zones are a pain too. I like drifting IRL and I drift for fun in free roam. I do actually enjoy the drift Stunt Parties since there’s an incentive to not only get a high score but also to get them done quickly instead of dragging them out to squeeze in as many tiny drifts as you possibly can. I feel like they could increase the point bonuses for drifting at higher speeds, although I do find myself getting 3 stars and/or setting personal records for drift zones during Stunt Parties on occasion, so maybe I’m just doing the drift zones the wrong way when I drag them out and do lots of small drifts.

On tarmac I actually quite enjoy it, it helps a ton if you get a nice drift-formula car from wheelspins to do the drift zones (I got the Ferrari from one early doors and it was a 9/10 straight out of the box). It doesn't take forensic-level tuning to cook one up from scratch either, so much so I'm making a selection for online drift championships although that's due in part to grievances I have with standard play sessions (that'll be for another post).

The dirt road drift zones on the other hand can absolutely do one, it was such a chore getting those done.

Well, that's strange. I... don't think that's the right car. In fact, it isn't even in the game AFAIK

Yup, there's a mod out there that swaps the M2 with a M140i. Models are client-side so if you buy it you'll simply get a white M2, but images are generated by the game uploading the UGC so it captures how it looks for that player.

I love moddability in games but I think having it leak into the online side like this is pretty bad. Things like this should be kept very strictly offline IMO - too much cheat or crash potential with mismatched assets.

Uninstalled it. I really, REALLY wanted to like it but I can't get into a game where you're thrown million dollar hypercars before getting your first wristband ;( I miss Horizon 1 Progression
But you can't use the million dollar hypercars to get your first wristband...
Indeed, IMO nothing feels earned though; ie. starter car(s) aren't stock, and you receive three of them modified. DLC cars are (still) just added to the garage rather than having to purchase them, barn finds off the bat are rare cars, rather than just some random 'niche' cars etc. Not my jam and mayo unfortunately

I mentioned what I was expecting - FH1-style progression; Devs seemed to insinuate you were a 'nobody' entering into Horizon Festival, much like the legacy times. Great, I thought. Seems clear as mud to me; All I said was I missed Horizon 1's sense of progression and I don't dig games that hand you everything on a silver platter from the get-go, so I uninstalled it, unsure how that's 'rage quitting' but you do you boo :D. If you enjoy it, great ! keep playin'
DLC cars don’t feel earned? You freaking paid actual money for them! Why did you buy them if you didn’t want them?! Why not just delete them from your garage? Anyhow, this is not the appropriate thread for your continued moaning considering nothing you said involved actually playing the game that day.
The irony seems lost on you - with that logic, every car should already be in your garage from day one because you paid for the game, right? Why even have credits? or XP bonuses?! FOMO events!? Auction house?!?! ;) S o r r y for preferring a sense of progression/achievement in games a different way to somebody else ha ha
Crossposted on General Discussion since this has little if anything to do with "what did you do in FH6 today".

Apparently this poster thinks that Treasure Cars being rare finds and DLC cars being free hurts the progression of the game even though you can't use them in wristband races.

He doesn’t understand that people buy games to play and people buy DLC to download and be able to use in the game without having to jump through hoops to use what they paid extra for. An expansion would include exclusive rewards that need to be earned but having to use in game credits to use paid car packs would cause a negative reaction from basically every player except him. Then asserting that optional paid DLC ruined the game for him tells me that he has no one but himself to blame for the game’s progression being ruined.

Apparently he was expecting to find Gran Turismo’s “the real driving simulator” quirks in a Forza Horizon game, like cars you might actually find in a barn IRL instead of usual FH barn finds that are cars more likely to be found in museums. Either that or he’s some sort of gaming masochist.

I like the barn finds the way they are and my only complaint is that I can’t buy more of the barn find cars because they’re typically cars I like enough to want to buy multiple of.

I wonder if he’ll actually reply now that it’s in a more appropriate thread but I doubt he was actually interested in having a discussion.

The AE86 and Mazda Cosmo weren't handed to me on a silver platter. I feel that so long as there's something worthwhile for me to do in the game to keep me occupied between playlists then that's more than enough progression for me. FH1 was over for me in less than two weeks.

For me, FH is the only racing game with real cars where I like to drift, it feels good and controllable to me assuming you have the right car/setup, the formula drift cars feel like the easy mode option to me to get drifting stuff out of the way, power sliding awd also works well but doesn't feel as nice to me. That said drifting is not my focus unless the goal of the activity I'm doing is drifting, and there are many activities I'd rather do in the game than drifting.

I’ve always hated drifting in Horizon games. I was always so awful at it. That is until @breeminator and @UKMikey started raving about a drift tune for the ‘68 Abarth 595 by Kenpai TDG👑. The share code is 148 802 766. I swear I feel like Boss Dorifuto in it.

I just realized where the name Futo came from for the AE86 clone in GTA5.

Those liveries come from the Lego sets that have already been on sale for a while.

The strange thing is that they are now giving them to all players, without the need to buy the Lego sets.

What I find odd is that they didn't make actual Lego cars like in FH4, instead it's just a simple livery.

As much as I like Lego, I hope they don't repeat a Lego themed expansion like they did with Hot Wheels.

These sets look like absolute arse.

In the spirit of a friendly discussion: I share his opinion that too many cars are thrown upon the player. I buy the DLC to have access to the cars. But, I'd rather buy them with in-game money or get them as a gameplay award instead of getting them all at once. I personally prefer building a curated collection over having an immense catalog of cars without any real connection to them and I think it is a shame that the game is not more adaptable to that sort of gameplay. I still enjoy the game a lot, I'd just wish for some different game design choices.

Some of the cars in my collection were bloody hard to obtain.

However, the cars I feel the most connection to are the ones which I use the most, not the ones I had to grind money and wheelspins to obtain. No game is perfect and there's always features and choices to make the gameplay experience better but I'm not sure gating cars we've already paid for behind high credit requirements or difficult or repetitive chores in order to create some artificial value to them would go down that well with most people in a game in which it's already much harder to come by those credits than the previous one.

On the contrary, a wider selection of cars makes it easier to find the ones I find more useful or enjoyable to drive and curate my collection on that basis using the existing favourites mechanism. There are already workhorses like the Lancia 037 which we couldn't drive until it appeared as a playlist reward.

In any case, it's certainly not something that'd cause me to uninstall my game and restrict my Forza activity to griping about it to other people who are also enjoying the game. That seems like a baffling choice to me.

It wasn't easy to get all the exclusive cars from Wheelspin. 🎰 I didn't use AH. 🚘

Some of those cars didn't show up in hundreds of spins so I had no choice but to grind money until I could bid on them. Since the maximum bid limit was increased, though, it'll take a long time to get the money required for buyouts and we can no longer farm wheelspins easily either.

Populating the aftermarket with rare cars is a great idea but not everyone is able to join a convoy to get them. Some rebalancing may be needed here as were it up to me at least one of the dealerships would be exclusively dedicated to wheelspin, notebook and playlist exclusives instead of discounted Autoshow cars.

Any idea how many spins this took to complete? I have nearly 500 hours in game and I think I’ve had about 10 of the exclusives through wheel spins. I’ve acquired nearly all of them from the AH (I’m two short currently - the One and the Rimac). To have obtained all of them through wheel spins would be easily over 2000 hours based on experience to date.

Completely depends on how much of your time you are devoting to skillpoint/wheelspin farming. I've played 600 hours total so far and a good chunk of that was wheelspin farming. As a result I own each wheelspin car (and even a second copy of each one, except for the Apollo, the Rimac, and the Formula Drift #13), without using the auction house.

Yeah, don't get me wrong. I'm not looking for more grind, just more autonomy. Half my garage I have no clue where the cars come from. Also, I'd like more consistency in the economy. How come I can readily buy an SVJ but the regular Aventador is unobtainium? Why is a regular 370Z way more expensive than the Nismo-model? Etc...

Stil enjoying the game though. If I wouldn't, I'd uninstall too.

I'm a mere piker at 425 hours played and am missing the Dodge Dart Hemi '68, MacLaren 620R and that #13 Formula Drift Ford Mustang. Had I known they were going to eradicate farming maybe I'd've done a bit more of it but I'm fine with having something to aim towards. It took me four years to get all the cars in FH5 and percentage wise this is a big improvement on my progress in that game this early in its life cycle.

I think the LEGO collab is mostly going to be limited to the Technic sets; I don't imagine they'd have released the cars now if they were planning on making a Lego expansion. It'd make more sense to make actual LEGO Edition models for them and save them for the expansion in that case, no?

I still believe we'll be starting with a Fast and Furious expansion, purely based on 2026 being an anniversary year for both the franchise and Tokyo Drift. I just wonder what that'll involve since the first expansion traditionally has more arcadey and unrealistic level design to contrast with the second expansion.

That varies though. Both FH3 and FH4 had the more realistic expansion first.
