GT will always be better than Forza. The reason? The all new WRC and NASCAR. Forza probably won't get licensing from it.

Forza is supposed to have "stock cars". They havn't been shown yet, but have been stated by T10 to be in the game. I'll try to find a link.

Stock cars? .. maybe they mean it as a stock car that you drive right out of a dealer, an unmodified car. That is the definition of a stock car right?

I believe that it was confirmed that a Dodge Charger stock car, and I mean a stock car used in (presumably) one of the NASCAR tiers and not a stock road car, would appear in Forza 3.

The NASCAR license is not exclusive, so it is possible that some ctock cars might be in Forza 3.
Here is the content of the CE of Forza 3:
http://www.demonews.de/kurznachrichten/index.php?shortnews=21324

It reads:
Mit dem exklusiven "Car Pack" kommen noch mehr Modelle hinzu, die individuell gestaltet wurden:

- Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro (Forza Motorsport 3 Cover Car)
- Acura NSX (Forza Motorsport Cover Car)
- Nissan Fairlady (Forza Motorsport 2 Cover Car)
- Aston Martin DB9 (Forza Motorsport 2 European Cover Car)
- 2008 Dodge Charger Stock Car (Xbox 360)

ok its german, so here is the english translation:
http://www.forzacentral.com/forum/s...mp;amp;highlight=2008+Dodge+Charger+Stock+Car

And if you crave cars, you won’t want to miss another perk of the “Forza Motorsport 3” LCE – an Exclusive Collector’s Car Pack, personally hand-picked, tuned and painted by the team at Turn 10:

* Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro (Forza Motorsport 3 Hero Car)
* Acura NSX (Forza Motorsport Cover Car)
* Nissan Fairlady (Forza Motorsport 2 Cover Car)
* Aston Martin DB9 (Forza Motorsport 2 European Cover Car)
* 2008 Dodge Charger Stock Car (with Xbox 360 livery)

Even in german version it says Stock Car, if they would mean unmodified, they whould have said something like "Serienfahrzeug","Großserienversion", "unmodifiziert" or "standard" or something like this.

Yup a NASCAR, I wonder if FM3 will have full NASCAR events.

Gt does not need nascar, or wrc to be a better game... Its the overall feel, no racing game comes even close to it!

With 8 car grids.

Just because it's called the 2008 Dodge Charger Stock Car doesn't mean it's an official NASCAR. There's no reason Turn 10 could create their own stock car based on a charger with Dodge's permission.

It could be NASCAR but it's not conclusive.

8 Cars, LOLS! They really need to step up now. 8 cars is LAST GEN!!! Unless this is like WIP-EOUT space rocket game which does not need a lot on a grid.

8 cars on a longer track (lemans, Nurb.) is damn empty.

Good point and well said.

Here is a feature breakdown between GT5 and FM3 [most of this is fact - but some is speculation based off interviews and expectations]:

Gran Turismo 5:
  • 800+ vehicles to choose from in the game
  • Dynamic Weather that changes before or even during a race
  • Real-time, realistic damage on all vehicles
  • 90-100 tracks [not counting reverse versions]
  • NASCAR License
  • WRC License
  • All major vehicle manufacturers including for the first time in the series: Bugatti, Lamborghini and Ferrari [hopefully Porsche and Koenigsegg]
  • Day and Night races with the possible transition into and from both of those times of day
  • All on one Dual-Layered 50GB Blu-Ray Disc
  • Downloadable content will be available for new vehicles, tracks and possibly racing modes
  • Real-time lighting effects producing unsurpassed visuals: Shadows, HDR Lighting, Bloom, Self-Shadowing, Vertex Lighting, Ambient Occlusion and more
  • Up to 16 cars on a track - with up to 20 cars in online modes
  • 4 Different car views with the new hyper-realistic cockpit view
  • Tune your ride with a full lineup of official manufacturer parts and after market brands to maximize your cars potential
  • Transfer vehicles from GT PSP to extend your playtime even while you are on the go

Forza Motorsport 3:
  • 400 cars available from popular manufacturers
  • 2 discs - download new cars and tracks from disc 2 to maximize enjoyment [if you have a HDD]
  • Vehicle damage and rollover
  • 100 tracks [50 regular and 50 reverse]
  • Livery Editor
  • Download new vehicles and tracks with the DLC from XBOX Live
  • 8 vehicles on a track and with up to 8 other players online
  • Next-gen visuals provide a realistic view of the race with the new [and ripped off from GT5] cockpit view
  • No Night racing
  • No Dynamic Weather

Honestly, GT5 owns FM3 in EVERY aspect. I have heard people say that GT5 doesn't look as good as FM3 - um, GT5 is the best looking game I have ever seen. Period.

Gran Turismo 5 is the CRYSIS of racing games. Forza 3 is the game that wishes it was Gran Turismo 2. ;)

Well, we don't have to worry, since we're GT fans. At least I am.

I'd say none of those are facts, but your own expectations. You should be careful with those to not cunfuse anyone...

BTW, where is Pepsi0? He sure was a funny little fella...

Totally dude! GT5 rocks, my friend's uncle who works at a car dealership in Jackonville says he has this friend who has a cousin who's Mom's nephew got to play a beta copy of GT5 and he says it totally owns forza 3. go Gt5!

A good many of those are facts - the dynamic weather is something Kaz continues to mention is in the game. The car count while racing, vehicle damage, night racing and the tuning stuff is all factual also. I did say at the start that some of it was speculative - but most likely to be included. ;)

50 regular? Are you sure about that?

I saw that on the FM3 forums a while back - someone asked Che Chou about the track listings and would it be 100 different tracks - he said something about how nothing is finalized at this point, but that it would be half regular and half reverse most likely; which is false advertising to me if I am told 100 tracks and it is really only 50 tracks with the same 50 in reverse. I'll look up the link.

No its not, man, i hate it when people think stuff PD is working on or rumors are confirmed and spread this. Nothing of this is confirmed except car count while racing and damage (and we still dont know how its done).

GT Ace is correct. Kaz has said a lot of things in the past that they're working on & don't always finish or incorporate them into the game.

[*]100 tracks [50 regular and 50 reverse]

I am sure it's less then 50, in FM2, there were few tracks that out of one track you had more then 2 variations.

So FM3 should be between 30-40 MAX tracks. FM3 is about 2 years in making, so how they will get 50 tracks? no way!
Bit lame compared to 90 tracks GT promises not counting the reverse and other variations of same track, so that is 90 plus locations they promise.

Even if GT5 comes with 50 different locations from day one, I will be happy. Heck we only have 6 diffrent locations in GT5P, and we still play it till this day, (at least some of us)

Turn10 doesn't count their reverse tracks. Stop trying to twist their info to make GT5's promises appear better.

Because thats what they did with FM2, at the same time GT4 did the same. Give us where you got the info please... Maybe they don't count reverse, but like I mention above, they might count same location with different setup. Something tells me all the tracks (except the fake ones) will be modeled like crap.

Facts are facts, speculation is speculation. Of thoes things listed most of the things for GT5 are speculative. GT5 will no doubt be amazing, but we don't have many facts about it.

Of course they counted the same location. They themselves said there would be 12 environments which was a clue on how many actual areas there would be.

Very fanboy orientated post, and as for claiming Forza ripped off GT5s cockpit view, then you could say GT5 ripped off Project gotham 3's view. And before anyone makes assumptions, i don't own a 360 and don't intend to.

I don't even know where you came up with half those features... As Dave has already said, most of those are pure speculations, originated from rumors too.

Oh, and...

Next-gen visuals provide a realistic view of the race with the new and ripped off from GT5 cockpit view]

...and this...

Forza 3 is the game that wishes it was Gran Turismo 2. ;)

...makes it look you sound like a fanboy. It really does. Attacking the oposition isn't the smartest way to make a game sound better than it.

Let us way for both games, people...

Lol we both typed that at the same time.

Wow, I've just parachuted into fanboy central. Thank god I remembered to wear my fanboy repellent underroos. At least I am not alone in condemnation.

Honestly, FM3 will be a great game, better than GT5? Shouldn't be, but this is by far the most ambitious GT yet and things can go wrong when adding so many things to a game. FM3 has received good feedback from people who have tried it, GT5 is still more of a question mark at this point if compared.

Thanks for trying so hard!

:banghead:

If you all will just read the part in brackets before the list starts - you will see that it is made up of facts and speculation from interviews and the like.

Of course I know that dynamic weather has been talked about many times by Kazunori Yamauchi - but not confirmed yet - but it still belongs in that list, because most likely it will be a feature in the game.

Yes, I am a Gran Turismo fanboy - but aren't we all posting here? I'm sure Forza 3 will be a great game in it's own right - but come on, the stuff that Dan Greenawalt said was just incredibly childish and his game will not live up to GT5 - not a chance. "The definitive racer of this generation" and "True, next-gen visuals make this the best looking racing game this generation" are my two favorites. ;)

We dont need to be GT fanboys to post here, im a Forza and GT fan. Your list is not only based on much speculation (like damage in all cars which is something we dont know), you also forgot to post a few things about Forza like fully customized multiplayer modes. That was extremely biased.

I cant wait to have both games, especially now that GT5 looks like a big step forward after the dissapointing (for me) GT4, i would tell that if is not for Forza probably GT5 wont be stepping that much, by the years Forza have been the only real competition for Gran Turismo in its own right, thats were Sega GT, Group S and other have fail.

Il recommend you to play Forza 2 or 3 for a momment trying to not think the is an enemy for GT. Luckily with the time both series continue evolving and we will have something refreshing each time.

We did, & you're taking things out of context & making up stupid things like, "Ripped off from GT5" to make Forza 3 appear less than GT5.

But, you're honest about where you stand.
