....I swear the Lambo is just too wide sometimes....

I'm quite sure about that! At first I tried this with an F355 but just kept knocking those barrels all the time. It has to be too wide. And the Lambo must be a lot wider! I'm not sure if it's the wing or the car itself, I didn't look at the replays...

Today at work I just thought about the challenge for a minute and realized that short wheelbase and 4wd is just the simplest way to go. It is pretty hard to set up properly, but if you manage it, it's just so fast. :)

Thanks for the tip. 👍 Now to pull 10 seconds out of my 🤬

Actually, I'll share the Delta, feel free to try and see if it's any good! If someone took the time to set the wheel alignment right, it would be much faster. I just guessed the angles and never touched them again... :guilty:

It would be nice to see what kind of results others get with it. BTW I'm using a Fanatec GT2 and G25 pedals, so I don't have any idea how it works with a controller!

Cool, I may give it a go after I try a few other cars. I'm also using a Fanatec TurboS with the Fanatec standard pedals and H-pattern shifter.

So the cars in our shared garage...I can only test drive them? I can't use them to complete races in career mode, or am I just missing something?

And, congrats Crispy! 👍

You can use them in rivals events and online races. Not sure about career since I haven't done much but I don't think you can in career mode.

Kind of figured that. Bummer. Just trying to get all the 'hard' events done in career mode before I race online again. I did pretty poorly the last time I raced with y'all.

Jerome

I haven't really noticed that. You can't "get in" one of the club cars, but maybe when you go to "change car" at the event screen you can choose from the club garage then?

Ran a sloppy 3'06.2xx in the qualifier with 2 barrel hits, so it should've been a sub-3-minute run. I think these autocross events are probably the most fun thing I've tried in Forza so far. 👍 👍

Edit: I more than likely won't be free to race on Saturdays until college football season is wrapped up (or the SEC championship/bowl games are over with anyway)... definitely looking forward to racing after that, though. Until then, these qualifiers will be my competitive outlet.

Most fun and most annoying at the same time. :D Takes ages to get a clean lap if you're half as impatient as I am...

Yeah, the current lap I have down, took me around 30 minutes to get. Every run I do, I hit a barrel, and it tells me, "Gate Failed +5sec" :banghead:

Tell me about it... And usually it's one of the easiest gates, like when you have those bunches of three in a straight line, I always clip the last one as I try to get the line right for the next corner = Idiotic! :D

Yeah, I know the first half of the track pretty well, and because of that. I tend to push a little harder, and screw up the most, and end up restarting. Second half of the track I don't push as hard, since I don't run it as much.

I really should just run the whole course, regardless of how many barrels I hit, just so I can get a feel for the layout.

Yeah. I think the ghost has too much of a psychological effect, even though you try not to look at it nor pay any attention to it. I wish I could just turn it off! Or maybe I should just pick a ghost that is very much slower or very much faster, maybe then I could "drive safely" and get a clean run... :D

If this race is around 9.30 Australian time I'll try to make it :)
I'll try qualify too, put in a few runs tonight but I was getting way to frustrated so I needed a rest

Damn, I'm falling in love with this autocross thing! Try the Indianapolis one with the old American Muscle, superb fun! :) And really easy compared to this Mugello layout.

I know what you mean. I was getting annoyed yesterday morning with the ghost being too close. Sometimes I couldnt even see the gate. I eventually switched to the first place ghost. Much better. 👍

Sorry but race is the same time this week which is something like 5am for you however next Saturday I plan on a much later start which should be right around the time your looking for.

Yeah it's terrible. I just finished improving my time on Silverstone with the 190E and was struggling in the first third behind someones hideously tall Vauxhall Agila or something (who admits owning such thing?!) Couldn't see a thing!

Ps. Just hit 24th overall! YAYY! Those top 10 guys are pure aliens! :scared:

I'm starting to see this club's biggest strength might be autocross. Your approaching those aliens and are right there among them in our qualifier. We might have to run some experiments on you. :mischievous:

I think we could be quite high on the lists if most of us posted a time on every autocross event! Last time I checked there were only two guys with a time in every autoX event, I think.

And yeah, even though I'm quite high in that event, the no.1 guy is still miles ahead and my head will explode before I reach him! :D Also my hands are already so worn because of the stitching on the GT2, maybe I should invest in a pair of gloves, eh?

By the way, I just shared a couple more cars for autocross, if you find you don't have proper ones to compete with. I find the Merc really well balanced even though the gears could be shorter. I couldn't bother to shorten them before sharing... :D And this morning I built that Mustang, it is SUPER FAST in the autoX for old american cars, try it! And still don't know how those work with controller, please let me know if you try!

We might just have to take that chance. kidding

I actually have been wearing gloves (batting gloves to be exact, however im thinking of getting some football gloves instead) ever since I got my TurboS. The only reason I wear them is to not get my wheel all grimey from my sweaty hands. Thanks to the gloves my wheel still looks brand new and nice and clean.

And still don't know how those work with controller, please let me know if you try!
I tried the controller just for a sec to get an idea of how the autocross was laid out on Monday when I was deciding on what event to do for qualifying and was total rubbish. I have been using a wheel too long to be competitive with a controller.

Heheh, maybe we'll do...! :D

I think that the alcantara on the GT2 becomes even better when it's a bit sweaty, much grippier! And it hasn't stained a bit even though I've ran quite long sessions with it! Time will show if it stains, but I don't mind. Still I could try those gloves. :)

BTW...? What time is the race on saturday? I somehow missed it or just didn't understand. It would be great fun to take part, but I'm at work till 6p.m. It's GMT +2 here, so if someone did the math.... 💡

It's 2pm est. (I think maybe 9pm for you??) I posted it right beside the announcement of what Saturday's race consisted of. So be on the lookout for that each week as I plan on switching it from time to time to give people over seas a better opportunity to race. Also note that there is a 10-15 minute warmup before the actual race starts.

Edit: in bold (Thanks Carlos)

But what he actually was asking, is what 2 pm est is in gmt. Est is -5 GMT, so for you that is +7 hours, what makes it 9pm (21;00).

That's what I put in parentheses. Thanks for the correction though. 👍 I had it at 6pm for him but your right it's 9pm. :dunce:

OK, so it seems I'll be able to race! That means I need to start prepping a car! :) Good thing my BMW affinity is at 12! Still somehow haven't bought the e30 m3, it's about time!

Quick, someone hurry and join our soccer match! This is the first time I try this, great fun :D I keep messing everything up! Had to switch from wheel to pad instantly, it was a nightmare!

Sorry I had to leave guys -dinner time! Hopefully I can re-join later if you are still playing...

(BTW, I couldn't really use my mic much as my wife is studying)
