Well.... Looks like my efforts have gone to waste. Xbox still doesn't work. Put a game in, says reading for a couple seconds then says open tray. :( Not sure when I will have the extra funds for a new console.

Yeah, all hope isn't totally lost yet. Since I did it during lunch I didn't have much time to mess with it and see if there were any mistakes I may have made and there could possibly be one I already thought of. I think I forgot to completely lower the laser after closing the tray. I also haven't had the opportunity to try and reset the laser.

Thanks guys, It's working. You guys have no idea how pumped I was when it finally worked. I did have an issue for a moment though. It was saying disk unreadable and asking for me to clean the disk. Turned it off and back on and all was well again. The way I got it working was to turn an adjustment screw on the laser to the right just an 8th of a turn. It may need just a bit more turn to the right. If I have anymore issues I'll take it apart and turn it just a bit more but I played for almost an hour after that one issue and had no more issues.

BTW, Up to 2nd in qualifying. Forcone is officially an alien.

Damn the no hidden assist makes a huge difference. It's like a totally different physics engine. Going to take some getting used to. Got to get me some MS points to get the new DLC too :D So good to be back on FM4!!

Hey great to hear you're back man!! The new steering is quite different, isn't it? :D Much more realistic, but so much more challenging. I completely suck with it. I think my wheel settings are way off - my GT2 doesn't "catch" the drifts quick enough. I don't really know if it's the settings or the wheel itself, if the motor is too slow. 720 degrees works just fine, but I want me 900 degrees!! :lol:

I did two official laps after spending like an hour tuning the Abarth at Tsukuba and had some issues with the transmission. As it turns out, the gas pedal on my CSRE was not working right, giving me 75% or %50 throttle, I had to restart the wheel a couple times to fix it (not happy at all here). The whole time I thought it was my tuning because one lap I got it up to over 100mph, but didn't save the settings and came back and it topped out at 70 :odd:

My settings for the car are not very good and the top guys are using the VW, so today I'll try using that car. I haven't driven the car yet but if guys are in the 1:24's maybe I can squeak into the 1:26's 👍

Oh and the updated physics are incredible, going back to my pre-patch tunes they all still work great, just like before, thank god! :lol:

Also, good luck trying to beat your old Rival times with the new patch! I was going to take a whack at Dynamics' Hockenheim Audi TC lap but the new physics are making it much harder to pull off, but I did manage to beat my old time by a fair margin (although it was 'dirty' :()

Crazy times with the Scirocco! I tried 4wd too but couldn't get it setup properly for me. I lose so much time with the Abarth trying to pull away from the start! :banghead:

Thanks guys! So glad to be back. I was having trouble loading early this afternoon so I took the console back apart and made a slight adjustment and seems to be working perfect. It's amazing how sensitive that screw is with adjustment. The tiniest turn makes a difference.

Damn! I went from 2nd to 7th pretty quick. Not sure if I will have any opportunity to improve on it since i'm at the airport picking up my cousins.

I will be back to announcing the weekly events on Monday.

Yeah, things changed big time after everybody started using the VW. I try to stay away from leaderboard cars, but I may try it tomorrow. I can probably only shave around 1 more second off my time, if I stick with the Renault.

Good news! My wheel is arriving today! Which means I'll suck tomorrow, and tonight for the Spec-Miata race! :lol: I wonder how good I'll be though. I'm quite used to both the controller (on Xbox) and the wheel (on PS3) so, let's see how this goes down!!!

Nice! Timing couldn't be better as the 900 deg bug just got fixed! So all of us wheel users are almost on the same line :)
 
Well I figured out the issue with my CSR E Pedals. It's the same thing that happened to my G25 pedals after 2+ years of use; the pot is faulty 👎 Sure I could expect this in like 3 years or so, but after 1.5 months of use and not even daily use? C'mon...

Any other CSR E users have this issue? My work around is to use the clutch pedal as my brake pedal, it works fine, but I can't press the pedal down as far (not a big deal).

Blah, I give up. That #1 time is unbelievably fast, I don't just have the car for that! No matter what I try, 1:26 is the barrier for me :(
 
Thanks to Melting Brains and Chilldomination for some clean, close racing! Thanks for racing with me earlier today DeadlyDC and TheEpicDriver. I'm probably not racing tomorrow, so I'm not putting any more time into qualifying.

I must be out of the loop... I saw the videos about the steering ratio changing even in sim mode when the car oversteers... but they've patched this?
 
I seem to do better with the lower class cars right now, really enjoyed this qualifying rival. Thank god no one voted for that SX4 on Fujimi, I was bouncing off of every guard rail in 2nd gear, LOL.
