how does qualifying work now then

Qualifying is the same. Leaderboard position will determine qualifying....if you can't beat your old time then pm your time to Chris and save your qualifying run to your storefront for verification.

I've made my first qualifying run and put up a 1:40.559. Probably can squeeze another .5 out if pushed. I also decided to do some testing of the competitions cars for comparison. I only ran 3 laps in the competition's cars.

LoadedLove - 1994 Honda Civic VTi 1:42.0xx with a base tune
Teewiggs - 1991 BMW M3 1:40.559 properly tuned/tested for Hockenheim
katpeeler - 1992 Ford Escort Cosworth 1:40.4xx with a base tune
A Man Hamster - 1987 Mazda RX-7 ???No 1987 RX-7 in game???
Forcone - 1965 Ford Mustang 1:41.7xx with a base tune

Kat's Escort is clearly the best car in the group, but I don't have a problem with it. It is the best handling car and has excellent acceleration. LoadedLove's Civic has great acceleration but was a little loose in the corners. Forcone's Mustang had the best acceleration but was also a little loose in the corners for me...but he's the fastest driver in the group and knows how to tune, so he'll be alright. My M3 was mid-pack as far as acceleration but handles better than everything, other than Kat's Escort.

These are just raw results (other than my M3) and only for Hockenheim....the other tracks may prove to be a different story. I think the B class races will be very competitive overall.

Wiggs you made me feel a LITTLE better about my car choice....But you have to understand YOU wont be driving it. So you can go ahead and add about 5 sec on the time you put down....

What R2 cars are forbidden
You can only use numbered race cars, no upgraded sports/supercars.

Lol, 5 seconds? Not likely....you should be right in the thick of things with that car...provided you properly build/tune it and you keep your driving mostly mistake free. ;)

Wiggs, you actually got my time that i just got with my base tune. 1:42 Is what I got as well. Just need to figure out how to tune for the Hock.

I think we're pretty close in driver skill so that sounds about right. BTW, Forcone has already taken the early lead in qualifying. 🤬 He's about .4 ahead of my latest time....back to work for me. :yuck:

All I can say is: my car needs a LOT of work... What a boat...

A boat that's almost .4 faster than my M3 right now. That first corner kills me.....so hard for me to get it right. That one corner makes or breaks your whole lap. :banghead: I think I can get in the 1:39's if I can get it just right.

I just got 1:41:3xx but yeah that first corner always kills me and the very last turn I tend to mess up on. I can get into the 1:40's but I couldnt run more than 10 laps right now because I have to go.

Any tuning tips for Hock? My car is set up a little on the stiff side, but it handles pretty good. My second gear ends up being a bit squirly around turns, everything else is alright.

Hmmmm, should I be giving tuning tips to the competition? :mischievous: I'd have to tinker around more with the Civic to give any concrete advice. I did engine and drivetrain swaps on the build I ran. It's a pretty flat track that favors high acceleration and good handling. I don't think the Civic needs a rollcage...I'd focus more on cutting weight to get the acceleration up and tire upgrades to help the handling, as far as the build goes. I'd probably use max downforce to help get around the corners....the track's not long enough to worry about losing top end speed due to max aero.

I don't know if you guys know this, but if you screw up in the first corner, rewind till you cross the finish line and try again. Your lap will be clean again.

I used some of your advice. I took the rollcage out, but instead of swapping the engine I kept the original in. My reason is that it kept it closer to a 50/50 weight. I also took out my race transmission, I figured since I hardly tune my gears than I wouldnt need it.. It also saved me a good amount of usable PI. I have the same HP as my last build, but about 100~ pounds lighter. It really made a difference, managed a 1:40.6xx

I always forget this because I race with rewind off to get more money! :dopey:

Is there still a race today? My wife has a flight at 11 that I have to take her to. Also thunderstorms are prevalent this AM. If it's still on, I'll try and make it in time.

and today i just ran a 01:23.426 in a Nissan GT-R'10

Are you going to race with us? If so you know you need a numbered race car, right? Good lap. So is this the car and class you're running? R2, #12 CALSONIC IMPUL GT-R

Today? :odd:

The schedule is in the OP.

Sorry, I seem to remember in the other thread about when the best time is to play, I assumed it meant this Sunday.

I will probably only be able to race on Saturday's, I work Monday's thru Fridays.

Ahh. Well only the top 5 race finishes count and there will be 5 Saturday races. 👍
Don't forget to select a car.

Hi guys, I was just wondering if I could still join in the Class B races. If I can then I have to look through my class B cars.
You bet! Review the schedule (op) and try to make at least 5 races to achieve the most points. But the more races you make the more fun you will have!

Once you pick your car (try to pick it by the end of today) let zr1chris know so he can add you.

Looking forward to racing with you!

Remember, have fun, race clean and enjoy Season 3.
