Race 1 was close, me and jack under a second each lap - til the last one when lag hit 👎 Finish between me and bdubclub was 0.021 and the rest where under 2 seconds 👍
race2 was alright, just slighty annoyed I couldnt catch bdubclub or jack - but still good racing and leafing :)

The battles I had were very cool, it's a shame when leaders of a battle loose slipstream.

Yep lol had the pace of jack but had too many battles to keep me

Still fun 👍

me and strawman had a epic race1 before the lag passes after passes and out braking at chicanes :) bdubclub wouldve caught me on race 2 if there were 4 more laps was losing half a sec a lap cause my tires were bit knackered :)

Just want to say it was great racing with everyone earlier today. The first race was an epic battle that had just about the whole field within reach, I think I was as low as 6th and as high as 2nd most of the race. The pack split up and me and sy put our heads down to close the gap with Frag in tow. Closed up in the closing stages and I manage to sneak thru to second with a chance at the win on the final lap. Unfortunate what happened to jack and mcglone. Would have been even better. Second race I knew jack would be hard to beat, he had the pace of the front runners and was starting up front thanks to his unfortunate incident in race one. I was planning on pitting early but had my race face on and before I knew it I was one of the last ones still out. Seemed to play out well as Andy and I were neck and neck when he went in, and I had about two seconds when I came out. Tried to put in some fast laps but jack was too far ahead, it seemed for every two tenths I would pick up, he would take it back in the next sector. Seemed to be between 4.5 - 6 seconds the last 5 laps, and that's how I finished, 6 seconds behind. Congrats Andy and Jack, good hard fought races.

We were missing a good 7 drivers tonight, strange when people were fighting for reserves to then just not show.

From the positioning of Mcglone and jack, it seeped they were wiped by lag from you (bdy). The race was smooth ip till then so I was a"il annoyed.

I may use here what I was looking at for BTCC, where at the end of the series, everyone's lowest two race finishes are ignored. This gives people who get D/C'd, can't make a race or get wiped out from lag, a small chance to stay closer with the top of the leaderboard.

Say what you think.

Shouldn't the safety car have been deployed?
It's amazing that in 4 races we've not seen it and to be honest I think everyone forgets about it. Well I do anyhoo.
Great racing last night. The first race was well intense. It's great to see peeps like jack & frag who didn't fare to well in the BTCC series coming through and taking wins and stuff. Cracking.
Such a lovely car to drive the Mazda and the noise! I LOVE the noise it makes. Still not unlocked it's potential yet though.

Strawman Andy
No point in the safety car - it was the last lap so I won't deploy it

Was it the last lap? Couldn't remember I was so enthralled in the battle. Race 1 was the nuts.

Yeah the lag smash was last lap, really un-lucky. Would have been the perfect use of the SC.

Can I ask about race starts - Do i have to follow the SC right up to when he pulls off, or can I do a F1/BTCC style and leave some room and nail it when I want/when he's off the track?

I'd say the restart relies on you. You are the lead car and you control the pace as such. That's what I said before the races started, If I'm in pole, I'll have you at my pace on race start regardless to wat the Safety car is doing.

I just didnt know what I did so I did back off after the chicane, let the SC go ahead a bit and then went for it when i could - worked well and I dont think I held anyone up

Doesn't really matter if people were held up, the point of a safety car start is to pin it when the lead car does. I don't see any problems and it definately adds more excitement to see how people can react to such things.

Has anyone watched the replay of race one last lap? I am curious to see if I was the one that caused the lag bump halfway thru the last lap. I have never really been accused of lagging and this would bother me if I ruined someones race because of a bad connection.

The initial Safety Car plan is that once the SC pulls away, the leader holds pace, until full-throttling OUT of the final corner. It's full pace from there.

All reserves, please turn up to events at normal time (8:00) from now on.

Yeah but in theory, the lead car holds there own pace. I prefer having freedom for the lead car to slow down the pack and gun it away leaving others dead...

Have been doing consistent low 1:10s. I reckon the fast guys will be into the 1:09s easily!

Looking forward to this - leading the championship (somehow!!) and I really enjoy Grand Valley East so Im hoping to have some close battles :)

1:10's are very safe, easy to hit consistently. (1:10.6)
I feel so confident going round at that speed, but there's nowhere to knock time off!!!

I won here in BTCC series 1 after a 14 lap battle, so I hope to match my results this time round.

I'm in my lounge if you're interested.

Cant doing some History work and wont be practising tomorrow (if you are) as Im racin in the V8's, but Ive done some testing so hopefully not going to be last :sly:

I think you dont really have to know the track well, you just have to push very hard out of the corners and stuff

Yeah, it's very different to other tracks. You cover so much ground for such a short (timewise) circuit!

Hit a 1:10.392, running very close to the pit wall into turn 1, and a very pacey first corner.

I plan on being there, reverse grid second race could get a little dicey. Of course running these cars I wouldn't expect anything less, should be fun.
