freezing problems

My game keeps freezing up.If im in any menu and the music stops playing, and i try and enter another menu the gt logo shows up like its loadng, but it never loads. I have alot of cars, i dont want to start over....
 
Out of all the games I've ever Played gt5 cuts out sound more than any other game. It seems every time I play the car noise or the sound track stops.( don't mins when the music stops. The worse sound track of any game) I can usually get it back with some fancy button smashing. I feel your poison! And I just bought the xl edition lady week so the game is brand new, and yet to leave my ps3.
 
i have cleared the cache, it was less frequent for a little while but still continues. If i jump right into online and do everything from in there i have no problem. but from main screen, constant freezage(i dont know if thats a word but it is now)

Damn, your auto correct is going crazy lmao. Read what you wrote lol.

To the op, try doing a system update of the ps3 (even if its up to date, it restores any damaged system files). Doing this fixes some problems. I just recently updated mine and everything runs a little smoother.

Off topic but update 4.11 is worth skipping...
 
make sure your clock is on summertime and adjusted to the right hour..... i had issue's myself but when i took care of the summertime things brightened up :)
 
I do hope we have backed up all our game files since we have been experiencing all these issues haven't we 💡 I would hate to see you here in a couple of days crying about loosing everything!
 
Crap I should do that! (thanks for reminding me) anyway back on topic, you should try switching the disk for a new one. if it continues then take some compressed air and clean the disk reader. that should help if it's having trouble. if it's just a black screen with the logo on it, then quit out of the game and restart it. and update the system and run a repair command on the PS3 to see if files are damaged.

I guess bloopers in loading the content is much likely to happen in GT5 for its extremely high storage capacity of datas and specification of cars in the game... Any simultaneous input without much care could sometimes lead the game to have an unexpected cease out of order.

I'm afraid this doesn't have much to do with this focused problem mainly the load error being lugged in this thread than problems related to other parts of the console.
 
I just reinstalled my game data, and that didnt help. I am thinking since it froze on brand new save data and new game data it has to be the disc
and yes i do have my save data backed up I was really hoping my save didnt get corrupted but it doest seem so
 
I just got a new copy of gt5, started the dreadful hour install, im actually glad i have to go to work, should be ready when i get back.... o wait then i have to update YAY!....
 
I've noticed that games with more content freeze much more often. Gt5 and grand theft auto 4 freeze a bunch. Unlike games like army of 2 or lil big planet, which I don't think have ever froze on me. With that said no love is lost for this game! Never freezes in the middle of a race so I deal with it.
 
it got 2 the point everytime i opened the game it would freeze before i could tune a car for race. I had to get a new copy, waiting on install still. Another flaw of gt5, but one i can live with
 
seems the new disc fixed everthing, i have had the game running for probably 2 hours, and am gonna turn on the 9 hour tsukaba before work... havent frozen once
 
i am having this problem right now. few things, i have a custom playlist of 3 songs that i like in the game that play in the menu, and the top of the disc is scratched. this exact freezing when the music cuts out and the game is just "loading" happens whenever i try to buy certian cars in the UCD or in the regular dearler... the problem is is that i have the C-West Silvia in my UCD right now and i cannot buy it because this glitch happens. i have a new disc comming so hopefully that helps. i aslo tried deleting the game data and reinstalling it but it got stuck with "aprox. 2 minutes left" fro like a few hours... i tried buying a car on another user that i had never played gt5 on (so there was no "custom playlist"and the glitch still happened)
 
Well guys, figured I would tag an existing thread. I'm jammed up. My GT was occasionally glitchy. Especially when the disc was swapped for a blue ray for a night. It seemed the tiniest bit of dirt or smudge and it would freeze.
Tonight, I can't get past the loading screen with GT mode, Arcade Mode, Course Maker, GT tv , settings, DLC save. I can move the pointer but anything I click sends me to the large PD logo for eternity.

I just copied my save data to TWO USB sticks and the other account on this PS3 for temp holding. Play it safe LOL....

What's my best move now?

Delete saved data or back up data and replace with my save .

Re-Install GT5 ? I bought a brand new disc today $19. And using that disc helps none at all.

Any suggestions for a clean, safe, re-entry into my little world of personal enjoyment ?

Now I'm worried.

No luck with my PS account. Logged over to the family account and opened GT5.
"You can not open another PS account profile, a new one will be created"

Ok, I knew that.... And the game opens! Plays fine. Does that mean the GT5 Game install is fine and my game data is corrupt?

If I delete the game data on MY PS account will the game automatically load from the back up? Or give me the option to load from back up?

It will give you the option to load from back up for your save data but not your game data. Game Data and Save Data are two different things.
