is anyone with me on the damn Jaguar XKR '10?! damnet its a 2010 model and they didnt even make it premium! Like hell they pulled THAT from GT4 >_<
Reply to that with,
Probably the 'newer' standard cars would be upgraded first, that is, (standard) cars that made their debut in GTPSP or GT5. For example:
 • Jaguar XFR '10
 • Bugatti Veyron 16.4'09
 • Mazda Furai Concept '08
 • Lamborghini Countach (LP400 and 25th anniversary models)
 • etc...

i think more classics are a must, cars that are icons of there time.

“Among the standard cars are some historical classics, and we plan on remaking them as premium cars,” said Yamauchi.

👍

Most of the recent half-off, 0 mileage OCD cars seem to be the most detailed of the standards. The first OCD update we've had since the start of the "new" OCD standards was full of classics (GT40 being the top candidate) and the "too ground-breaking to stay standard" Veyron which has been in nearly every OCD update. I can't remember if the XFR '10 was in any of the updates, but this is just an observation and a guess that the recent OCD cars that have 0 mileage will be a good chunk of the standards that are to be upgraded.

To be added to the premium list: some of the Silvias, more of the Skylines (not just the GT-R's), and the Isuzu Bellett 1600 GT-R ‘69. That little oldie is just awesome to use.

XJ220, PROWLER!, Saleen S7 (100% should be premium) and other American cars, definitely the other Shelby's. SL65 AMG, Spyker C8

The standard cars I would like to see become premium would be..

-S13
-S14
-70's skylines
-R30 and R31
-ONE version of the 3000gt
-Supra RZ
-Evo 3 and 4 GSR
-All of the Amuse tuned cars
-93' and 00' GS300
-ONE version of the Civic Hatch, Del Sol, CRX, Prelude, and 98 Type R Integra

O...and how about having the premium car's foglights actually work?

Stop wasting your time with these dream lists of cars we want, but know won't be converted to premiums.

It's not that these are bad ideas, it's just not economically feasible for PD to offer these for free. Sampling 200 premium cars is what made GT5 the second most expensive game to produce.

But if they were to do so, the Mazda RX-3 GT Savanna, Toyota 2000GT, 1960's era F1 cars, 74-77 Porsche 911 Carrera (highly unlikely), 1969 Mustang Mach 1, and possibly a 98 Ferrari F50.

I really don't want all 1,031 cars as premium cars. All that is really necessary is 240-350 premium models, and 100-200 upscaled models with customizable exteriors, while the remaining ones stay as-is.

Hey man, people just wanted to show a list of Standard Cars that they want to be Premuim, but we all know that some of our favorite cars might not be upgrade to Premuim.

People, your all forgetting that it takes PD 6 months to model ONE PREMIUM. These lists of 20+ cars are rediculous...

If that's so, then how come GT5: Prologue was able to have all 74 cars Premium?

Because they were scaled down models.
Look around the site, Its true.

All that id want is the suzuki ESCUDO and tje chap 2j, maybe the nissan r92cp

How can the cars from GT5 Prologue be scaled down models? They look like there the same scale as other Premium cars in GT5.

But you know, if all Premium Cars in GT5 such as the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG were "scaled down models", then we would have 300 Premium cars.

Before thinking about upgrading some standards to premium, which is probably already being done for GT6 anyway, there are missing cars that should have been in the game from the start.

Honda 1988–1991 Civic, 1986-1991 Acuras, 86-92 Preludes
Tercels, Sentras, Escorts
Honda HSV SuperGT
Koenisegg
M3s and M5s prior to this generation
Ferrari modena, maranello, 348, F355, etc.
Lambo Diablo + SV
classic rally cars, older F1 chassis, open-wheels from Indys to Radicals
GT racing chassis, the game is called "Gran Turismo", too few of them
only premium DTM is a proto from Lexus?
wouldn't mind Nationwide and Trucks from the NASCAR licensing, some V8 Supercars also
etc.

We don't need conversion, we need representation.

ON TOPIC: Supra '97, the '97 JGTC chassis is premium'd I don't get it, also the '86 and '97 MR2s.

Frequently Used Standards to be Upgrade to Premium Models?

I was just thinking, since PD promised standards would be upgraded, what cars do you think will make the cut?

I wouldn't hold my breath for it. Nearly a year from release and we still don't even have mid-enduro saves yet. If they haven't accomplished even that after all this time, I definitely won't be anticipating upgraded car models that require countless hours of labor to produce. They can't simply push a button on some computer back in their studios and suddenly Standards are now far more detailed, but rather they'll be putting heaps of time into each model they update.

Honestly, it's too late for me to care anyway. After spending almost a year with the game, I've went back to FM3 and will be heavily into FM4 come October, and GT5 will likely remain irrelevant for me from here on out. The other guys aren't sitting around twiddling their thumbs, but rather things keep moving forward while GT5 just sits there with its thumb up its butt. But, I reckon I digress a bit here with this paragraph....

You all need to have a little faith I mean sheesh they did have an earthquake this year!!!

No, you're not right, the cars in Prologue weren't scaled down, in fact some were actually (slightly) more detailed (interiors) in Prologue than they are in GT5, so some were actually slightly scaled down for GT5 albeit ofcourse with more functioning features and visual damage applied.
The cars in Prologue were full Premium cars, if you looked around this site properly you would've known (or if you played Prologue).
They are perhaps showing more detail in Photomode which obviously wasn't available in Prologue.

No, I was mainly just trying to say it takes 6 months to make one premium.

Also, Prologue cars have about 10k less polygons then there GT5 version.

Sorry.. but you clearly don't know what are you talking about.

1. Premium cars in Prologue and full GT5 are the same (but in Prologue they have way more detailed shadows - I'm not talking about their resolution).

2. It does not take 6 months to model one premium car.

The whole point and the way I see it is, if they are different no one can tell. So if they were less detailed then I would be happy with that because we could probably have more.

Sure, it can take 6 months to model a premium car, but how many of Kaz's employers would it take to model one premium for 6 months? Mind if I do a little math?

If it took 6 months to model one premium car, does it mean that 1 employer would model one premium? If GT5: Prologue was able to have all 74 cars premium, Kaz would need 74 of his employers to each model one car in 6 months. Let's say one employer was modeling a premium Viper, and another employer was modeling a premium NSX, so it could take 6 months for two employers to model two premiums at the same time and number of months.

If it took 12 months to model two premiums, then it would just be one employer doing two premium cars.

I'm not sure if I'm correct about this, but please don't say that I'm stupid, cuz that would start a fight, and I do NOT want to fight anyone here on GTPlanet.

Brilliant idea. 👍

Well either way the cars are way over hyped. They look no better then a Forza 3 car (not being a fan-person)

This has nothing to do with Forza it's not even on the same system. Don't bring it to this thread.
