I just know I didn't cheat at Spa.

I also know I didn't cheat at Spa - and that the results I got were at the result of much sweat and frustration!

I mean, with the continuing absence of any support by PD in that regard, there always has to be a bit of trust that drivers will spec their cars accordingly, but I actually do believe that it would show pretty quickly, if somebody tried to use a prohibited part, and especially the guys you're usually racing closest with would notice the soonest, if something fishy was going on.

I agree, and the fact is - there are a lot of people out there who will try to bend the rules set; and a lot of people cannot be trusted! :indiff:

Didn't comment on it last night, but that last corner mistake in R2 gave me heart attacks. Great run to the flag with @DrifterJoe.

If people are running 2 seconds a lap faster than everyone else, then of course people are going to be suspicious of something. We're not questioning their skill, its just that we've found evidence that their cars are un-balanced to ours in some way. And anyway, nobody wants to race in a series with three Spurgys...

We'll there was no "evidence". And Spurgy was generally faster than all of those three.

We've got the rims that are clearly smaller on the Honda's than the other cars, which I still find quite odd even though that's in the specs for the car

maybe becuase the standard size civic wheels are smaller than the other cars standard wheels, heck the spec on the ranger says i need to go one size up but i cant!

I find that quite odd, Furi said its because the Civic doesn't have the inch up 1 option.
Also On the Rangey inch up one is shaded out in the specs.

And i've just double checked. 1 inch does not make a 2 second gap either. I have had another theory for a few weeks that i'm testing now.

But it still contributes, people were also noting a Civic speed boost and as we know they're one of the slowest in a straight line

How does that make sense unless i'm missing something. A Civic speed boost despite it being slowest, and having unchangeable rims?

Heard to the tranny trick?

The Civic was a little faster than we remember from pre-season. The perfect example of this was in the media night, at Spa one of the SYM's overtook me in the first corner, but I was able to get past them just before Eau Rouge. Last night I was ahead of Yera, going into Eau Rouge (and before the 1st corner as well) then he managed to somehow get alongside me hold it around, then blast past me round the outside.

Probably tranny trick. Also account for Scania's questions about gear sounds.

What is the tranny trick? Is it legal tuning?

Oldest 100% legal trick in the book. On GT5 reset gearing ratio to it's lowest (eg 176 down to 123), then use final gear to re adjust. Could make 3-4mph difference on straights. I've not done it on GT6 yet due to being unable to actually read it (thanks PD :irked:) but if someones figure it out they get an advantage right there.

That's not how you did it, you had to do individual gears a certain way as well.

Thanks for the note about that - I'll have to try this! Not gunna let them damn Hondas pull away on the straights anymore! :P

Pretty sure it was to put final drive to max., put the quick change slider to minimum and then re-adjust the FDR.

But that was just an easy way to set up a close ratio 'box. A properly set up gearbox for the track is still better.

After R1 I longered my 4th and 5th gear ratios to avoid going into 6th before Eau Rouge (that meant I could enter Raidillon with just a fraction lift off to gain front end grip, or if behind someone and going into 6th, then just downshift without lifting off)... This and a messy entry you had into that corner meant I could pass you there...

I guess this move might have crossed you a bit, maybe that's why you rammed me off track after Les Combes...

Obviously with the lack of tuning options I had to look for the only possible thing to try and gain an advantage... that's why I ended up using Praiano's gearbox setup...

Just to end this, my opinion is people should learn how to push their car to the limits before starting complaining about other people's cars...

On A slight side note I noticed something peculiar after a pit-stop. In pre-quali I decided to change tires (they were only down to 9 on the fronts though) After coming out the pits and driving for a little bit, I noticed that I could only go to 88MPH in 3rd before changing to 4th (I like to use the whole rev range) whereas before the pit-stop I could get to 90 and sometimes if I was brave 92 MPH. I've never heard of pit-stops changing gear ratio's before...

That corners very tight, not made for 2 cars; and also you didn't take into account the Pug's chronic understeer...

This makes my point about people learning first how to get the most out of their cars... if you had checked the Power/Torque graph in Car Settings you would've found that the RCZ's powerband starts to drop after around 7000 RPM, which means you should shift around that mark, more so given the Torque peaks at 6000 RPM...

Right... me being ahead and taking the normal line into a corner, I'm still in the wrong because I don't take into account the behaviour of a car that's behind me...

EDIT: To anyone that might be curious about what we're refering to, check beginning of L4 R3...

This morning I found 0.6 seconds testing. #mycarmustnotbelegal.
