Chaps, car specs will be finalised and altered. Civc appears fixed now, RCZ is surprising, and Megane and Focus are being put through paces

It was close, I tell you that! The last corner can be a killer of a good lap, and so can the first corner!

That Pugs a lairy thing, riding onboard with Paul now :scared:

It really doesn't like the comers! Goes really light and just under steers like a pig. Peugeot is designed for fashion in Paris.. Not the racetrack at Brands Hatch ;)

Rangey get a speed boost after Brands? Because it really sucks on the straights at the moment. @gtpanoz when from being half a car length behind to 2 car lengths in front at Willow.

I'm still getting the hang of Brands Hatch and Willow Springs. The tricky thing about WS is there's not a lot of reference points.

Brands Hatch, I'm happy with.. But Willow - it's like a roller coaster that spits you into the landscape that you bounce along. There's only one fairly good corner and that's the flat out, 6th gear one (near the end) :p

And the Tarmac is one flat colour so its hard to see racing lines.

I think the Evoque might need a speed boost but maybe have a little weight added back on?

Is the BMW going to get a boost? It's like 7 tenths off the pace, and from what joe said it sounds like one of the worst handling cars that has ever been in TOCA, which means you will be lucky to stay with the other cars during the race.

BMW's at max specs unless I lower weight. I'll make sure it gets tested 👍

I think a boost would make it worse. It's the oversteer under acceleration thats the issue. It can't put its power down

Edit:LSD?

I know, I was .3 up going into the final sector and .1 down at the end. I think @DrifterJoe was the same?
Yep, I was losing .2 to .4 in the final sector every lap. I had 1 wheel spinning up, so I'm just smoking out of the turn, and the Focus is one of the slowest at accelerating (much like my old BST SLS). Very poor at grid starts too. Druids hairpin is the same, but I've found an alternate line that doesn't lose me time.

WI'll post up the FF test results from @paulmac2k9, which I also watched the majority of.

FL = Fastest Lap
CL = Consistent Lap

Civic (NO ECU, 342hp)
FL 48.0
CL 48.3

Easy to drive and get a rythmn, Paul looked at home in the thing and very surprised the Honda's not been a popular pick - @DK is the only Civic driver right now.

Focus (Current specs)
FL 48.5

May have been over-nerfed, Paul to test a slightly upgraded version later. @DrifterJoe @gtpanoz @FlyingFox

Megane (current specs)
FL 48.1's
CL 48.3

Seems on pace with Civic, despite the understeer. @Scaniabebe

RCZ (current specs with LSD)
FL 47.8
CL 48.1

RCZ (No LSD)
FL 48.7

RCZ (LSD+361hp via power limiter)
FL 47.9 (better all round)

Bizarre. LSD makes it OP, none makes it awful. Reducing power helps, All-round this spec will be better as it is harder to be consistent in @LancerEvo7

120d (current specs)
FL 48.8
120d (Weight S2)
FL 48.3

The pig may have been fixed. Turn in is a little more muted but this brings additional stability @gokartman78 ;)

Look whatever happens after the first race this thread will turn into 3 conversations.

Conversation A) Car X/Y/Z is too slow, needs a boost!
Conversation B) Car X/Y/Z is too fast, needs to be banned! Someone will then make a comparison with the VW Scirocco era.
Conversation C) OMG RAGE PERSON X TOOK ME OUT RUINED MY SEASON FFS.

Popcorn is ready 👍

Well we're stopping that happening Nel ;)

Megane (current specs)
FL 48.1's
CL 48.3

To be fair, didn't find the understeer too much of a problem during testing. It seemed to turn in not too bad but on longer, sweeping corners - it world start to go wider. Really, I think it depends on how you drive the Megane to how it behaves. Like yesterday, I found it handled pretty well!

See Willow Springs turn 2, I was able to hold a much better line than you through there in the Focus.

Who said you can't get some air in a Hyundai.

@Ninners you were flying last night. Literally .
I will sign up for this too (if I can). I'd like to keep busy online. Just got to decide on my car.

I did around 75+ laps around brands indy yesterday and got no where near a 48.3 let alone 48.1, my best was in the 48.8's
