Next week's target... To get back into the Top 3 in the Championship and to get within 20 points of the Championship Leader... And to help @rolo912011 get further up the Championship tables!

Peugeot's quick at Ascari so no worries ;) Also you've still got a fair points lead in the Indi championship.
 
Ascari is good track for the Hyundai, it was not far off the Ford's and Honda's in testing(Media Day).


Might be missing Race 3 though(VLN).
 
14pts between 5th and 12th...and then another 13 between 12th and me. :grumpy:

The Peugeot is quick in general. It's certainly a second faster at Silverstone than the Renault from what I've experienced. Speaking of those, I thought that the Renault was struggling for spots? Seems like the Peugeot was instead.... Very little on the points front and I was surrounded by more Renaults than anything else...
 
I was doing it because the car literally refused to turn, and I let everybody back through afterwards. No positions gained. I see absolutely no issue in it, but if you feel the need to do this then fine. 4 points is way too harsh for something that avoided accidents and didn't benefit or damage anybody's races.

So I got bored of doing career races again.

Specced up a Focus and Civic and took them for a spin around Silverstone:

Focus: 1:08.129 - Can only see another tenth or two in there. Really not my cup of tea, nice entry rotation into mid corner understeer, then getting on the power just spins the wheels and you understeer even more. And modulating the throttle to stop the wheels spinning just means the exit speed is pretty crap. :yuck: It might just be me of course, but I couldn't get the hang of it. Fastest I've tested on the straight though.

Civic: 1:07.665 - Now we're talking. :D Stable entry with nice rotation (not as oversteery on entry as Focus) good mid corner front-end grip so the power can just be slammed on. Decent in a straight line too and great off the line (6000rpm launch ;)). Could easily be another tenth in there as well.

BMW: 1:07.416
Range Rover: 1:07.813 (with 2 tenths left in)

Peugeot: 1:07.574 - Probably another tenth left in as it is, if I could tune out the outside wheel spin on corner exit I could probably gain 3/4. Not particularly nice to drive though, very planted, but also very mundane. Monstrous on the straights though.

On a side note, I picked up 2 tenths in the Focus (to see a comparison between it and the Peugeot) for a 1:07.93x (I think a .934, but honestly can't remember). I ran wide of the ideal line at Stowe though, so that probably cost me about a tenth. Love that entry oversteer, but the understeer on the power is just so frustrating.

Also worth noting that the Focus was about 2 tenths faster than the Peugeot up to the checkpoint just as you enter Hangar Straight. :eek:

Plus I like doing all this. Doing career mode races gets boring quick, and while SRF is allowed in TTs I won't be putting effort into doing those. Add to that that there are no series in viable timeslots at the moment, so I'm not practising for them. So I end up doing this. :)
 
Consumer advice for the masses? May be a job opportunity there.
