It's a really interesting car, but this part is hilarious.
With the world of passion assets opening more to the digital age, Non-Fungible Tokens, or NFTs, have found their way to the forefront of digital collecting. Ever the innovator himself, Moroder wanted to be a part of this movement and not only offer his prized 1988 Cizeta-Moroder V16T, but pair it with an exclusive NFT

Mr. Moroder is about 3-4 years too late. NFTs are practically dead & will add no value to this car.

Saw RM advertise this car today & remembered @SPhilli911 shared some info about it.

Since 2017, it has now had a whopping zero miles put on it.

Surprisingly, doesn't look like the value has really gone up all that much since the $2.25 million price. They are estimating $2.5 million - $3 million.

Just a small update for Mr. @SPhilli911 . It blitzed Sotheby's estimates & sold at $4,664,440.
 
Wonder if it will ever loose its cosmoline coating? - will it hold that value if its ever actually used?

I remember when the car was first found that this was debated, restore it or leave it. Even Sotheby's says, "Cleaning it would wash away the history of the car." I suppose a big part of the story of the car, and thus the value, is that it was found in this condition with almost no miles on it.

The white "sister" car sold for a little over $2 million USD and that car was discovered in a similar way (though not covered in dust as far as I am aware) and is now immaculate with almost no miles as well.

I wonder if it was a Brunei collection car originally? Buying 6 similarly spec'd cars (four Turbo S's and the 2 RSRs) is very on trend for Brunei royal family purchases. Especially having what are ostensibly stripped out road-legal race cars re-trimmed with luxury interiors. The purple highlights are a very Prince Jefri touch as well. Two of the Turbo S's were spec'd in RHD and Brunei is a drive-on-the-left country. Being left to sit and gather dust and grime is yet another hallmark.

The car was initially sold in Abu Dhabi so not sure it came from Brunei as the second owner was in Bahrain. Unless it came from Brunei to be sold in the Middle East, I can't say.

But since we live in a small world apparently, the neighbor of the previous owner in Bahrain likes to collect Porsche scale model cars like me and I asked him about the car last year. Either he is full of it or I might be able to get more info.
