Fuel saving is more important than taking the lead in most of the longer races. Surely it shouldn't have such a big influence. The guys in the top 24 races have incredible skills, but the races are stale because the drivers are restricted so much, because they have to conserve fuel to be competitive. With the finals only a few months away I think PD should be looking at ways to reduce the effectiveness of fuel saving so those races will be as exciting as possible.
I think that refuelling time should also be multiplied to match consumption rates. This way conserving fuel might gain someone tenths rather than seconds.
What do you think? Is this even an issue for you? Has anyone got any other suggestions?
Edit
A lot of people are commenting that fuel saving is part of racing. I am not disputing that fact. My point is that the benefits of fuel saving are so exaggerated in the game it's having too much of an influence. That's why I think quicker refuelling would make the effects of fuel saving more realistic.
