Hey everyone

Just did a few rounds at the new Fuji 750 online race.
I always ever finished 3-rd in the first few races in my trusty EvoX tuned against the almighty Nissan GT-R that seems to win every race.
But now! finally - I won. 3 black GTR-R35's chasing me all 3 laps but I managed to stay far enough ahead so that they could not catch up that quick on the straight.
Was lot of fun. Laptimes are low1.38's.
I know there are a lot of complaints about the update but I think that collisions have improved as I do not get bumped out that much.
I always drive very clean and defensive but still I like the update a lot.

Its rare for me to see any punters...

Well I end up from positions 6 and up if its a ok run.
I get 1'39's and rarely a 1'38. (Mines R34)

Survive first feew turns and its a great race from then on

punters paradise , enough said

Damn right! its like the wacky races down there! Too many cars trying to take the same corner at the same time, its like that all the time. There is no racing etiquette whatsoever, just talentless punters ruining a good race!

It doesn't help that there are some VERY generous run-off areas too. I have seen people blatantly cutting corners, or take them very wide at full speed, and get no penalty whatsoever! I thought the patch was supposed to sort this out (along with the punting)?

Fuji 750pp has to be the cheesiest race of this update!

I've managed to do a 5:06 with my Evo X... i notice when a couple of us guys break away they give me a push down the straight it seems to help break away even further. So i've been doing it myself except for the last lap.

There was this stubborn french guy in a GTR he refuses to let you slip stream on any lap... this only led to our lead being sapped away and he got taken out by the following cars LOL

I have my Evo setup to do 285KM before the braking point... seems to keep up quite well with the faster cars.

yeah the punting on the first lap is just ridiculous sometimes, and the guys who dont brake in time can still be rewarded in a few areas. the GT-R seems to own this track for the most part, i rarely ever finish in the top 3 b/c my vette cant keep up. i usually end up with a time of about 5:10 give or take. if you can get a drafting partner to stay with you the whole lap you can get into the 4's ive seen it

I seen a 5.00 dead today done in a GTR.
I love racin there if you get out of turn 1 and 2 okay its good.

Also i was gonna post this somewhere else:)
I tried loadsa different cars on there today and couldn't go any faster in any of them.
I get the same times in every car 5.08 to 5.10 mostly depending on the first lap iv'e been quicker.
Using the Mines,Tuned Z06,Amuse S2000,GTR,F430,Tuned Viper i've been getting the same times.
Is this normal? or is that the limit of my skills :)

That pretty much sums it up for me.

well, after work today in about 50 minutes, im heading straight home and im going to tune the ford gt 06 and see how the thing does on FUJI

Impressions? Rammer's paradise, very laggy and GTR heaven. If not for rammers I'd won few times in my Ford GT, so far managed 2nd place quite few times. I'd not use GTR there, too easy and what's the point! Get a proper RWD car and win, that's the challenge! :grumpy:

Hi. Do you have Frame Rate problems in the beginning of the race when most of the cars are on screen? I have never before noticed Frame Rate problems in GT5P.

Yeah, the first corner is a chugfest! I almost always find myself punting someone because the PS3, just can't keep up with the action on screen. Nowadays, I go in slow, so as to minimise the hazard.

I was racing Fuji last night and these guys from the GTLM squad kept driving their cars into the pits every lap??? What the hell is that?? some sort of cheat?!?! cuz it seemed as if they didnt get penalized for anything... and just cruised through ... but I cant imagine its shorter or anything... very weird...

The Amuse S2000 is very nice to drive but no matter the setup it is just about 2 seconds slower per lap when I drive it.
I tried the GTR-R35 too but I do not like the back end being so twitchy and sliding around (lift throttle oversteer). The Evo does not have that and I just like to have a car I can control with "my eyes closed" for online races.

I've heard of a pit driver cheat and also saw some drivers do that last night.

It varies from race to race...... if you get caught mid-pack, it's flat out chaos. If you can keep your nose clean and be P5 or less after the first lap...... you'll be in line for 5'00 to 5'05's....

Doesn't the pit lane run parallel to to start/finish straight? How does that work? The only thing I can think of is that you're out of the way of the punters?

Yeah but when you enter the pit lane it hands you a shortcut penalty... I tried it to see what happens... but I didnt get any advantage?!?!? very weird.... just got a penalty and drove through

I dunno, its a good track for hot-lapping, it has a good flow, but the punting in the races is just ridiculous, always get some imbecile punting me off. We soooo need private lobbies or at least the ability to turn collisions off.

Fuji is my favourite circuit. I like the combination of long sweeper corners, the short technical section in the last few corners and the braking duels into turn one and the hairpin on the back straight.

Sure there are punters, but there's punters on every circuit. At least with Fuji there's heaps on tarmac run-off so if you do get a bump it doesn't necessarily ruin your race. Unlike Suzuka where a gentle nudge will find you digging your way out of the sand trap. Plus Fuji is wider than the other tracks which gives more racing room.

If this race wasn't so biased towards the GTR, it'd be fun. Quite simply the points for the GTR are to low it out classes everything by miles.

No idea why they took the 600pp Suzuka event out. I hope they include lower pp races soon.

Agree.

I think the punting is not that bad as it may seem from reading through these threads....if you're patient and drive a bit cautious until you find some open space you can 90 percent of the time have a clean online race on Fuji. Just survive that first corner and and outdrive the punters and you should be set. :)

Yea i had a few races, but the ruining factor was nice cars to drive seem to fail, i love having a light as possible Amuse and bombing through the curves, only to be foiled on the straights.

Basically it is impossible with the Driving Force GT wheel. One tap or bump from anyone trying to cut inside or hitting me from behind and I am out of the race. There is no way to turn off the rumble feature and if someone intentionally or accidentally rams you the wheel vibrates and spins harder than my washing machine. It is damn near impossible to correct from getting spun out and then you are right back into the rear of the pack with the mongrels fighting for a scrap of 10th or 11th place. No thanks. The PP600 class is just what I am looking for. After driving the PP600 Daytona I have met some of the cleanest racers ever and have had some of the most fun, clean, skilled races so far. Fuji is a joke. I will leave it for the demolition derby racers with the JP next to there names to bash that race. Enjoy! It is a shame there isn't more 600PP events. I have a feeling this is where all the skilled clean drivers go to.

Only if you like to battle it out for the ldwer half of the positions...It's unfortunate that when you get around the punters they just take you out at the next corner after a straight. I even went off the racing line to brake only to have a a punter move over and take me out anyways even though I gave them room..

It's not racing when you cant race on the racing line...I dont like constantly checking my mirrors and driving off of the racing line to avoid collisions...Doesnt help that the ones thinking their fast use a 4 wheel drive sedan with abs/TC turned on and they dont understand that without those you cant brake as early or accelerate as soon as they are out of a corner so they just hit you..

Had about 10 races and was hit everytime...Suprisingly HSR right now has some of the best racing I've seen online.

100% agree czech. I am not the fastest driver and I will pull over and make room for someone faster. I get guys moving all the way over just to hit me. Is there some kind of bonus point ramming feature I need to turn on? Is it the American Flag next to my name? I do not understand. I REALLY love the track it is just maybe the start from 0? Maybe if it was a rolling start it would be better? It all goes downhill right from the start man. RIGHT at takeoff guys are either dead stopped in front of you or slamming you from behind. From there we move into the lovely turn one where it all goes even further downhill. I really REALLY try and drive clean but my GOD! If someone has completed a completely clean race online with 12 people post a video lol. 12 guys trying to go through a tight turn at the same time would be pretty sweet if damage was turned on. As it is what is the ramification of not bothering to hit your brakes and gain extra time by smashing the poor sucker who dropped it down to second to make the turn (me!) Maybe instead of a shot of nitrous they could give you a shot of GHOST where if you see someone coming up behind you not braking you turn on your bottle and give er' a 3 second wet shot of ghost mode and watch that poor sap fly right through you!
