Anyone who uses computers at school knows you can have some fun with them. The computers at my school have a server that blocks out all the sites deemed unsuitable for school (basically every site), and we've had a good time trying to bypass it. On all Win98 comp in the school you can just deselect the proxy server in IE from the Internet Options menu, but on the XP computers you are not allowed to change the internet options. However, a registry entry has been hidden in the shared network that when entered, takes away the proxy settings. The file dates from last year. The funny thing is, our computers teacher who is a great guy, caught us fooling around, but didnt do anything to us, and actually wanted to see how we got the block off. I think he was more interested in what we were doing than getting angry at us. Pretty fun stuff 👍.

Sounds like fun. You know you can't get a cooler computer teacher when he give you parts for free and helps you make a Christmas list of computer parts, though! :D

I wonder how much money they pay to have a system that a high school kid can bypass quite easily.

We have 8 computer labs in our high school. All have about 40 to 50 Dell computer's that were purchased last year. The screens are 15 inch LCD screens. All the classrooms have 2 of these computer in them as well. The only thing our school can get money for it technology, as you can probably tell. Our town is a little rich as well. Some teachers from town next to ours tell us we are snobby kids from Beverly Hills 90210. Most people live on one of the 10 lakes around here that are right next to eachother. Our network, if it isn't down, is great. You can type in your username and password, and within 10 seconds be logged into Novell. One day I went on when the network was down, not knowing it and it took me 39 minutes to log on. Almost no websites are blocked out at our school. Novell PageBorder, the program for blocking sites, barely blocks anything. The computer do use a proxy server though. All the computers have XP professional and a few have 2000 professional. Those are only in classrooms where the teacher didn't want a new computer. I used to design our school's webpage so I have acess to everything the administrator has access to where other kids are blocked from some drives and stuff, so if I wanted to I could go anywhere. For me to get past the page border I just type in my Novell username and password. Other kids can't do this because they are restricted from doing so. I never told any computer teacher's about this when the school district took over website design. All the computer's are set up so all users are administrators giving us lots of options. The only thing limiting your administrator abilities is Novell. My friend's mother is one of the computer teacher's so she will let he and I do anything. There is this sycroneye's program that lets the teacher remotely watch your screen and control your computer if wanted and he and I figured out that you could hit control alt delete just at the right time while logging in and choose to end the task for that program and it doesn't run. They also have a program that they can make your computer screen go black and say look up at the front and when that goes on you can hit ctrl + alt +del and end that task as well. Another thing you can do is hit ctrl and an arrow key and the screen will flip to the direction of the arrow. We have all these computer lookholes.

Our computers run DeepFreeze, it displays an image of a "perfect computer" onto all the computers when you boot.

Our computers are easy to mess with. Plus our Computer's teacher tells our class the passwords, because we are the Senior year.

But, just using Anonymous Proxies works on our school's computers to bypass "blocked" sites.

you mean a websense server? those get really annoying. if you manage to get to a site enjoy it, because tommorrow it wont be available! webNONsense!

Fun little thing you can do is, when you’re in my documents: right click and make a new shortcut: then input cmd.exe and you can name it whatever you want. Now you have a Command Prompt have fun :)

We changed the boot screens to funny picture and the teachers get mad, also I have ERD comander, I dont need a passworrd to get into any of the comps I just load te cd reboot and I'm in, free to change any settings, or grades, or anything I want... but I just use my laptop, no filter :)

Yeah...in my science class, the teacher leaves up the grade program. I could change my grade but i don't want to get caught. On topic though...I'm in 7th grade and I've bypass all the filters but that's because I am in the richest school in the town...they are just too stingy to spend any money. Oh well...our school is over 50 years old and I get to be the first graduating class in the new school! I talked to the supernintendent about new computers and what he should get. i talked him into buying all the parts seperate and assembling it with me and the computer teacher to have full control over the computer. He said I saved him a lot of money...

We tried a prank at our school where we locked all the computer keyboards, no-one could log on. We stopped 3 classes from using the computer labs! The teacher knew our class was the last one in there before that happened though so the next lesson we got yelloed at like ****, even though it was only me and one of my friends that did it.

Yeah, I'm interested. I think you told me once before, but it was when I was playing Vice City, so I wasn't really listening.

Press the Fn (function) key on you keyboard, and F11, it will stop the keyboard from working.

What I did is I changed the keys from the keyboard. Its so funny to watch people try to use the computer then. I should try to change the keys from my teachers comp...

You don't notice that if you touch type though. I have used computer's with a messed up key because the teacher wanted to know what key was in the wrong place and I couldn't find it because I don't look at my keys.

Yeah, I 'look' at the keys but I don't really 'read' the keys. I can touch type it's just I'm that little bit quicker when I'm looking at the keyboard. So switched keys doesn't really phase me.

Fn and F11. Which is the Function key? I see F11, but no Fn. Unless your keyboard is labelled differently to mine? Is Function Alt? (Excuse my Dumbness please).

I don't have it on my personal computer, only the school ones, I'm not sure what would be the equivilant.

Meh! I've got 10 weeks to wait, before I use another school computer. Our computer labs suck. The internet is SOOOO SLOOOOOOOO*system malfunction*................. *System back on line* OOOOW.

Our's was shocking a while ago when we upgraded to CASTnet but now it's working alright.

I think our school went to Xtra. BAD, BAD idea. Meh! Still better than this compy at home. The net on this compy is Slower still.

Yeah, our school comps "Broadband" Is about as slow as my 56k during the dasy, after school though it's fing fast!

i didnt take Business Systems Tech my freshman year. BST is fancy for "typing" btw...but our teacher is the head of the academy of finance, so he makes us do all this extra stuff with politics and economics. meh.

anyway, my class is full of freshmen. all freshman suck so hard. i was never like them my first year. they are like annoying little bastards who need to get their faces dented. so, even though our school filters are pretty tough....is funny to see how easy it is to access certain things.

this one bastard kid that is assigned to the computer next to me always goes to yahoo image search when the teacher leaves the room. can anyone say, graphic pornography? well...its true and thats what happens....sometimes i just wanna rat him out to get him expelled.

one day i'll bring my digital camera and make him a star. muahaha.

BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Some students at my school do that (except with Google) While the teacher is still in the class. Dumb ****s.

That ahppens alot at my school (except people bring in there own porn 'cause the internet filter is really good). It's really sad to see people gawking at the moniters with the teacher still in the room doing god knows what under the desk, I mean at least do it in your own home.

Ewwww Gross!!! Back in primary school. One guy got suspended for attempting to sell pr0n. He was 11-12 years old

It's amazing what some people do with computers. Then again it's also wierd and sometimes disgusting and downright wrong.

I'd hate to see what the teacher would do if he confescated the magazines

C'mon that's just disturbing. I think this has started to drift from "Fun with school computers" to "Fun with school computers"...and that's a little frieky.
