As we all know GTA Vice City is more than capable of giving us a laugh. So I ask you, what are the funniest events not caused by you that you’ve seen happen while playing Vice City?
What I mean by “not caused by you” is… well here’s an example. Once while being chased by the cops (3 stars) I sped by a cop car coming towards me on the left lane, he missed me when he swerved into my lane, what he didn’t miss was some dude on a PCJ 600 behind me, when I looked back I saw the dude on the bike being launched into the air and then smash into a wall.
Technically I didn’t cause that and it was pretty funny.

Others of mine which aren’t all that indirect include flipping over my Stallion and then stealing this guy’s Banshee, when I drove off I looked back and saw the guy running by the Stallion and as luck would have it he got annihilated by the explosion of the tipped over car. :D
But my favorite would have to be when I was cruising on the highway leading to ‘The Greasy Chopper’ I scraped a cop car, which gave me 1 star, I backed up to the scene of the accident and got out of my Mesa Grande ready to beat the crap out of the dumb cop when I hear this aggressive driver on a PCJ 600 coming up really fast, thing is both lanes were blocked by the cop car on the right lane and my Mesa Grande on the left, I saw the PCJ dumbass swerve to the right lane then try to correct his mistake by going onto the left and finally ended up smashing into my jeep and flying through the air, that one was priceless.

I chose to ask for indirect happenings since it seems to me that the spontaneous things of this game are the funniest. Sorry if this is all a tad long. :p

Pushing other cars into intersections can be fun...especially if there's a psycho driver coming through. That Mesa Grande one sounds really funny though. :)

I was flying down the Hyman Condo > Well Stacked Pizzas road in Downtown on my PCJ 600. I tried to cut the corner at the end of the road and hit the lamp post. The bike went flying through the door of the Chemist and killed the clerk. Mega-coolies!

In GTA 3, when you have access to Shoreside Vale, wait until the bridge goes up. Then lightly tap the cars waiting from behind and they drive off the edge into the water.

Driving my Cheetah full speed down a long stretch, hitting a guy, and having him land on his feet on the hood of an Esperanto going the opposite way. I followed them for some time just to see what would happen, and he simply stayed there. This event was topped only by the same thing happening to me, whilst causing me absolutely no damage. I could have stayed there as long as I wanted.

In GTA3, there were more bugs like that... Levitating cars, cars (and Linerunners, freakishly) that flip over backward five full seconds after a minor impact, cars that suddenly go ridiculously fast, and my fave: coming out of my hideout, I spot half a police cruiser driving along, parallel to the street, half-embedded in the facade of the building facing me. It then attempted to turn the corner, still within the building's frame, mind you, whereupon it got stuck, and just kept spinning it's wheels and shooting sparks, a perfectly placid-looking cop at the wheel. I proceeded to empty my AK-47 into it, to no noticeable effect. This event was matched by the time when I was attempting to jump my PCJ using the embankment on the grassy verge just west of Sunshine Autos, with the northward alley for runway. I got stuck inside the concrete wall, which went up to just under where my (Mr. Vercetti to you) ribcage would be - i.e.: just high enough that I couldn't jump out. I could run the full length of the wall itself, but could not, by any means, extricate myself from that position. Had to restart, of course.

I realize your thread was more along the lines of funny pile-ups as opposed to bugs, but these really cracked me up, so here they are.

I think there were others....

Edit:

Yeah, just remembered a series of motorists who fought back, including one time when the passenger got out but the driver stayed in, and he just drove me around for five or six minutes before I got bored. Also, another time when the driver got back in and we actually wrestled for control for a while before I decided to simply exit the vehicle. When I did, he did too. So I shot him. The best was the guy riding pillion on a PCJ, and when I knocked him and the pilot off to jack the bike, he got back on behind me. I took him for a little ride. Right off a bridge. Don't grope Tommy Vercetti is all I can say.

Just saw an AI Bloodring Banger leap clean out of the arena, behind their spawning site...!

Holy crap! That's pretty weird, didn't know they could carry that much speed. :odd:
One anecdote I forgot to add was when I first saw a carjacker at North Point Mall steal an ambulance that came to revive another carjacker in the first place. Watching the paramedics run after the ambulance slowly dissapearing into the horizon was pretty funny back then. :)

That happened to me, except with a Taxi...weird stuff.

For general and random pile-up fun and assorted mayhem, steal the Barracks OL from Phil's and go for an indiscriminate drive 'round the proverbial bend, taking absolutely no care to avoid anyone, even cops. Makes for some grandiose twisted steel sculptures on the thoroughfare. You could write up incidents here for hours at a stretch...

"...so I ram the Rumpo from behind, and it flips over three times before landing on it's roof, whereupon it bursts into flames, and, continuing it's momentum, slides an extra fifty yards right over the edge of the dam, taking a police cruiser with it, and explodes halfway to the bottom. Laugh riot..."

Just to make sure no one gets confuzzled, the only vehicale avalible at "Phil's Place" is called a "Patriot." You can also find one of these at the "Film Studio," and during the mission "Sir, Yes Sir" where Colonel Cortez gets you to acquire a piece of military equipment (A Rhino) that is being transported through town, then park it in a garage located in "Little Havana" before the self destruct timer runs out.

Sorry, got a little carried away there, that's why they call me Mr. Vice City.

lol one funyn event would have to me when i was driving a cop car and i turned the corner and hit a pedestrian so he flew in the air and landed back onto my car but slided off eventually

In GTA3 - as opposed to Vice City, Phil's "place" has a Barracks OL. I should have been more precise about particular instances where I was switching back and forth between GTA3 and VC, but my post was long-ish already and I didn't think I'd confuzzle anyone who'd peviously played the games.

Actually, in retrospect, I'm surprised at the lack of commentary over the phrase "...ram the Rumpo from behind...".

Or is it just me?

I think it's just you. :p
I see your point though, and good effort. :D

1. I was doing the taxi missions and was just about to pick up a customer, when a cop starts to beat the crap out of him!.:odd:

2. One time when I went out of my main hideout, I saw a fat guy in shorts kicking a police officers ass!.

Countless police head-ons with other police, particularly when using the hydraulics in the cab.

This very weekend, playing GTA3, I was just about to get busted when the cop opening my door got pancaked by a Mafia Sentinel aimed at me. Got off scot free. Never thought that could actually happen, judging by the number of times I've been insta-busted, which seems to occur at roughly the speed of whizzing photons.

Oh, and I accidentally deleted my 72% game with some nice stats. Who ever thought of making a menu like:

Load Game
Delete Game
New Game

It's asking for trouble, innit?

Speaking of "pancaked" (love that term too  ) Not too long ago I was firing my M4 without targeting and this cop that was running up to me leaped to avoid any bullets ( ) he landed on the road just in time so that a cop car that was tearin' @ss plowed right through the guy. :D :trouble:

Heh... Pancaked. Glad you liked it.

So, I'd say it almost makes up for the use of "innit"...

dunnit?

Heh. The other day I was eating something at the computer, so I stopped at the intersection at Staunton (exit the hideout, turn left and that's the one) in a Banshee. What I saw happen was:
1) A Bus turned through and got stuck on a wall.
2) A few other cars just rammed into it, and got stuck too.
3)The Bus caught on fire, and another car did too.
4)They exploded, and set off a chain reaction of about 4 cars.

Then I laughed! :)

I have two.

The first one.
I was driving the PCJ600 like a maniac, when all of a sudden, I crashed with a car, and I went flying. The funny thing was that the PCJ600 went flying too, towards a pedestrian and killed her.

The second one.
I was doing the Taxi Missions when in one of my fares I had to go to Vice City docks. The passenger was in the middle of the road, with a car on his side. He had killed a pedestrian. So I stopped at his side and see the letters "Escobar International Airport"

Wow, they just keep on coming, don't they? This weekend (by the way, I deleted my game again - bugrit!) I was waiting for the drawbridge (GTA3) to lower, so I decided to have some fun nudging other cars over the brink. Well, the last car (Cheetah) I nudged just at the last possible moment, so it's hood got stuck under the descending section. At this point, I started thinking how hilarious it would be for the car to be compacted or else scissored in half by the bridge, and, guess what? That's exactly what happened. Compacted. Vanished. So then, just when the road finally finished descending, up popped the Cheetah, like some exotic Italian jack-in-the-box, wedged upright in the no-longer-existent aperture where the bridge sections once met. It then proceeded to burst into flames - and, the kicker: the driver got out, stood on the rear fender (at this point the topmost part of the car), and perished in the detonation.

It's just like real life, huh?

Tommy jacks a car, the driver gets angry and picks a fight, then Tommy gets out his Python and says, "okay, lets take this up a notch".

Ok, I got another one. 👍

So I'm doing this taxi fare on a Cabbie and I roll the blasted thing making a tight right turn at Printworks, I get out and so does my passenger (a construction worker at the time) after getting out he simply stands next to the tipped over (on fire) Cabbie, obviously he gets X'ed in the explosion along with some other dude who happened to be walking by.

That isn't funny in comparison to what came next.

Some Haitians were lurking around Printworks, also some Cubans (weird that after all the missions between both gangs they stop shooting each other  ) they [the Haitians] of course begin shooting at me, however a cop happened to be around so he starts punching a Haitian out of the bunch, I have to comply since if I hit a different Haitian the cop will beat on me (this has to be fixed in the future GTA game :irked: )

As I and the cop are punching this Haitian some guys of the Vercetti gang appear (since we're still at Printworks) and start shooting the Haitians, then the Cubans seeing the Vercetti guys start blasting at them! :D

So here I am watching this place turn into a war zone, only one Haitian remained and the cop is after him, but the Vercetti guys are shooting at the Haitian but kill the cop instead with a final bullet to his back. By now there were plenty of corpses laying around so an ambulance arrives, with all Haitians annihilated the Vercetti dudes then began focusing all their firepower on the few remaining Cubans, but as they're shooting them they hit one of the paramedics in the leg.

Finally it all became calm, and all I heard was the cop saying: “Get off of me!” and one of the Haitians: “Did you take my blood? I hope not.” When the other paramedic revived them. It all happened so gradually that I never stopped laughing.

Now you see, if i had been in the situation Sleek explained above, i would have simply whipped out my Rocket launcher and ended it all right there and then.

You kidding? :p That whole ordeal ranked like a 9.1 on my funny-****-o-meter. I had to see it through. :D

Gang wars rule!!!

i was backing out of the pay and spray( the one by the cherry poppers ice cream thing) and a guy on a dirt bike hit the back of my car and landed on the road and then got hit by a car and was killed, then the driver of the car got out and ran across to the other lanes of the road and was hit by the ambulance coming for the first guy killed, it was quite funny:lol:
