I had one lady at my church that sits next to me, and I showed her all my photos of my GT5 photo album. She was freaking out and saying "Are you kidding me!? Did you take those photos and are they real!?" and I responded with "Yes I took those photos but it was all in game I play called Gran Turismo 5." and right as soon as I got to the photo of Jeff Gordans NASCAR, she starts flipping bricks. She asked me "did you meet Jeff Gordan? Did he shake your hand after the race was over and what track where on pit road where you sitting on (obviously she actually thought I took a real photo of Jeff Gordan's car)?! It totally made my day. :)

So what's some stories that you have about GT5? I'd love to read them ^_^

Not really a funny one, but I used to have this picture as my desktop background sometime ago, my flatmate and girlfriend thought it was of a real car.

But that IS a real car!

I don't really have any real-life scenarios as far as GT5 goes, but I do have a rage moment to talk about.
It was way back when Route X first came out, I had opened a lobby titled "Welcome To Route X". Within minutes, the lobby filled up to max. Everyone was chanting "Start Race! Start Race!"
The starting grid was like this:
RedBull X2011
RedBull X2010 S. Vettel
Bugatti Veyron '09
Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR '08
Toyota Celica GT-FOUR ST205 Rally Car '95(poor guy was away from the game)
Ford GT (No Stripe) '05
Bentley Speed 8 Race Car '03
Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1 '09 (Me!)
Mazda 787B Race Car '91
Toyota GT-ONE TS020 '99
RedBull X2010
Honda LIFE Step Van '72 (Ehh...don't ask.)
Bugatti Veyron '09
Lamborghini Aventador LP-700 '11
Mercedes SLR McLaren (19 Inch Wheel Option) '09
Nissan GT-R Black Edition '12

The race had been set to Rolling Start X2 File. All assists were switched off, even ABS. The race started, and like you'd expect, the X1s rocketed off. Me and the Ford GT got behind the SRT10 ACR, and started a "slipstream train". Eventually, we were reaching nearly 330MPH by the first corner.
We looked, and in the near distance, were the X2011 and X2010. We continued pushing, until my car started to slip out. Panicking, I slowly eased off the gas, and regained control. I looked in my rear-view mirror and saw the X2010 that started at the back with the Veyron and SLR right behind it.
Eventually we had a train of 6 cars all bump-drafting each other. My Corvette was redlining at 360mph. We quickly caught up to the two X1s in the front and blasted past them.
I listened closely and heard someone screaming on the mic in the background. The X1s fought and fought but failed to catch up, as they were redlining at 315MPH. We crossed the line, with the Ford GT victorious, and the SLR in 2nd. I finished 5th, behind the Veyron, but ahead of the regular X2010.
Once we gathered back in the lobby menu, I could see someone's mic was on. He sounded as if he was around 8 years old. It was the X2011 driver. What basically followed was around 10 minutes of nonstop screaming, cussing, and whining. Finally the guy in the SLR came on the mic and shouted "Shut the 🤬 up you 🤬 brat! You lost, big deal! Nobody wants to hear you 🤬 about it!"
The lobby went silent. However, my bedroom was anything but silent, as I lay sprawled on my bed laughing my butt off. Funniest moment in my GT5 career to date.

👍 A BAWS BWAHAHAHAH

I would LOVE to see that replay

I would so post it if I could, but sadly my game locked up on the Race Results screen. The PS3 itself didn't freeze, but it was one of those "endless loading glitches".

Id rather watch a Bustin Jeiber concert than watch that horrific JG clip.

and that's sayin something

A random group of guys joined our lobby, and the host wanted to do a FIAT 500 one lap race around London. Little did he know, the race was actually set to nine laps. So as the race started, I decides to back out, but 9 out of 11 people actually stayed to race! It was an amazing race, we were on our toes the whole time! So much passing and lead changes, the race was astounding. We even commentated the race as if we were Fox Sports. That's probably the most fun I had spectating a race.

Haha sounds great. Id love to do a live commentary in a online race. Maybe... hmm... idea forming.....

hehehe ima go plan now

The Funniest story was one I heard today " The cheaters on GT5 are having their cars taken away" PMSL ROFL LOL and Damn grateful too ..👍

That would be funny if it was true, but it isn't.

All modders are not cheaters.
All cheaters are not modders.

Fixed :)

You can thank me later.

I'll send you some flowers and a life time consumption of coffee. Thank you for playing.

I guess my funniest GT5 story is from an online race I had a few weeks ago. It was a race in the Volkswagen Golf GTI Cup and we were standing on the start, ready for the countdown. While waiting for the start I had been reading a magazine and now I put it away on the table next to me to focus on the race. We used false start check, so I pressed the brake pedal and then as the race started the entire field took off with great thunder and roar.
Everyone, but me. I was still standing at the start, with my engine revving like crazy. Trying to figure out what was wrong I tried modulating the brakes, modulating the throttle, changing gear, looking for an invisible clutch pedal... but nothing! Did I damage my brakes or my transmission? Did PD secretly patch in some new damage system that would simulate random mechanical failures?

After 30 seconds of troubleshooting I found the problem. I had put my magazine over my DS3 controller and it was pushing down the right stick, which was mapped to the brakes. Dealt with it and took off.

Meanwhile, the others had stopped further on to wait for me and they asked me what was wrong. Embarrassed I told them I had a mechanical failure and it was nothing to worry about. But we decided to restart and so I told them the real cause and one of the other guys was laughing so loud that his neighbour came to ask him if everything was alright.

Haha that's a good one man. Can't wait to get my internet sorted when I finish moving. Offline sucks after 3 years of Grinding Like the wind and tuning at Trial Mountain

Really?! Oh man, thats so funny  I love it when people are drunk while they play. That makes my day right there because they drive fine but they slur their speech. We had some guy from the UK join my lobby that had a bunch of southern guys who were either slightly buzzed or drunk off their a** and the UK guy was talking to them about how they should rethink their lives and look for something that makes them happy..... Well the southern guys laughed so hard and they told him to eat a big bag of d***s xD haha MURICA!!!!

Well i can't wait to race with you man. It will be a blast :)
