I don't really have any real-life scenarios as far as GT5 goes, but I do have a rage moment to talk about.
It was way back when Route X first came out, I had opened a lobby titled "Welcome To Route X". Within minutes, the lobby filled up to max. Everyone was chanting "Start Race! Start Race!"
The starting grid was like this:
RedBull X2011
RedBull X2010 S. Vettel
Bugatti Veyron '09
Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR '08
Toyota Celica GT-FOUR ST205 Rally Car '95(poor guy was away from the game)
Ford GT (No Stripe) '05
Bentley Speed 8 Race Car '03
Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1 '09 (Me!)
Mazda 787B Race Car '91
Toyota GT-ONE TS020 '99
RedBull X2010
Honda LIFE Step Van '72 (Ehh...don't ask.)
Bugatti Veyron '09
Lamborghini Aventador LP-700 '11
Mercedes SLR McLaren (19 Inch Wheel Option) '09
Nissan GT-R Black Edition '12
The race had been set to Rolling Start X2 File. All assists were switched off, even ABS. The race started, and like you'd expect, the X1s rocketed off. Me and the Ford GT got behind the SRT10 ACR, and started a "slipstream train". Eventually, we were reaching nearly 330MPH by the first corner.
We looked, and in the near distance, were the X2011 and X2010. We continued pushing, until my car started to slip out. Panicking, I slowly eased off the gas, and regained control. I looked in my rear-view mirror and saw the X2010 that started at the back with the Veyron and SLR right behind it.
Eventually we had a train of 6 cars all bump-drafting each other. My Corvette was redlining at 360mph. We quickly caught up to the two X1s in the front and blasted past them.
I listened closely and heard someone screaming on the mic in the background. The X1s fought and fought but failed to catch up, as they were redlining at 315MPH. We crossed the line, with the Ford GT victorious, and the SLR in 2nd. I finished 5th, behind the Veyron, but ahead of the regular X2010.
Once we gathered back in the lobby menu, I could see someone's mic was on. He sounded as if he was around 8 years old. It was the X2011 driver. What basically followed was around 10 minutes of nonstop screaming, cussing, and whining. Finally the guy in the SLR came on the mic and shouted "Shut the 🤬 up you 🤬 brat! You lost, big deal! Nobody wants to hear you 🤬 about it!"
The lobby went silent. However, my bedroom was anything but silent, as I lay sprawled on my bed laughing my butt off. Funniest moment in my GT5 career to date.
