It's amusing because we never got the chance to see if some, or all, of those things could have been done better by private entities. Because the government outlawed it. There are exception, of course. Pretty much anything the military or NASA has ever come up with is awesome. From highways, to duct tape, to machine guns and velcro. And the internet, of course. All of which were invented for a really good reason.

But then again, the military and NASA don't have much to do with the guys in congress giving each other wet willies and betting our tax money on how many fillibusters are going to take place during the next session.
