A little word humor (for those who don't know, wash is pronounced warsh by a few accents in the US.)

Lmao, are the cubans holding sponges?

Haha yeah they're sponges, there are a few different styles I threw in, and of course one does indeed look like strawberry cake.

By the time you start shopping for baby food it's too late. What has been done cannot be undone.

Picture removed. Looks like I missed the language.

It doesn't have to be faster than the speed of light. It has to be faster than twice the length of time it takes the light to go between the mirrors - which could be billions of years.

I find it a little more disturbing that the brand name is TROJAN - first thing I thought of was a Trojan Horse.

That's kind of the whole reason it's called trojan. You can't get your Greeks into Troy without it.

My understanding is, if there's a constant supply of light coming from the torch, does it really matter anyways?

You need to get the second mirror in place before the wavefront/photons have a chance to get from where the second mirror is cutting off the light to the first mirror and back again.

Not to mention absolutely parallel to the first mirror.

And if the first mirror wasn't absolutely perpendicular to the light beam from the flashlight (which it can't be, unless the reflector and bulb are rather better made than any flashlight I've ever had) then even if it's placed well the light will escape very quickly.

All this reminds me of the Galilean experiment to measure the speed of light: Two people with covered lanterns stand some distance apart from each other. The first uncovers his lantern and starts counting. The second uncovers his lantern the instant he sees the first lantern's light. The first person stops counting when he see's the second lantern's light.

A friend of mine in high school propsed that the experiment should work, given modern technology. Rather than covered lanterns we would use electric lamps. Rather than counting we would use a digital stopwatch. (At the time, a digital wristwatch with a stopwatch function was a new toy, and rather expensive at around 60 to 80 bucks for cheap ones. We were looking for a justifiable way to play with our new watches.)

Results were inconclusive indoors, just not enough distance, so we dragged extension cords outside and set it up 400 feet apart. He clicked his lamp on and started his timer, I clicked my lamp when I saw his, and he stopped the timer when he saw mine.

Speed of light, verified through several repeated trials: ~62.5 MPH +/-15% :dopey:

We later found our science to be flawed. It never occurred to us to account for reflex times, we judged our reflexes to be insignificant compared to light speed. :dunce:

Sorry, no funny pic to go with the story.

Just found this:

This one particularly caught my eye:
Fap: Drunk, confused, intoxicated.

 If only they knew the real meaning.

Also Piece: mobile phone

Maybe it is in Beverly Hills...

What about a cube made from those one way (technically two way) mirrors?

I would love to see the date on that article. If they don't know how to use Urban Dictionary, this won't help them.

It appears to be some sort of lexicon from Australia that is being built up with all these sort of words. Of course, who knows where they're getting all their info from.

Edit: Here's a site that has all the words as well.

What about a cube made from those one way (technically two way) mirrors?

a one way mirror is basically just specially tinted glass, the room with the "suspect" in it is brightly lit and the room with the "observers" is dark, this along with the tint causes enough light to be reflected back into the "suspect's" room that whatever going on in the "observer's" room is not visible. The same effect is visible under the right conditions in any room as glare. If light can get through one way then it almost certainly (for all practical purposes with conventional materials) can escape. Not to mention the fact that it can be absorbed by materials and converted into heat.

SORRY FOR THE COMPLETE LACK OF FUNNY IN MY POST KTHXBAI

I checked the exif data to see when it was captured. Scanned in with a deskjet on 2008.09.15

Cracks me up though,
