How is a category 1 an extreme threat? I guess the building codes up there must suck.

Perhaps, but the category of a storm means nothing but its wind speed. A tropical storm can pelt it down more than a Hurricane can.

Here in Jamaica, because we not only have the constant threat of urricanes, and a high likelihood of an earthquake, the building quality here is on average, pretty good. As far as I know, most houses are made from solid concrete, while quite a lot of houses in the US are, if i'm not mistaken, wooden. So, while a Category 1 storm may not cause too much damage to homes here, it may give some places hell up there.

Yeah, up north they're wooden. In Florida they're concrete.

Either way... the media made the storm into something it absolutely wasn't. It rained and there was some wind. No need to be overly sensitive.

When has the media not make something soap opera worthy?

Well there is tons of flooding up north, but the storm moved through really quickly.

How did those even work? I never bought them... Just curious...

you press down really hard on a spot at each end of the battery and a meter along the battery shaft displays how much charge is supposedly left, the problem with it is you really have to press down hard and once you release a tiny bit of pressure the reading is stuffed.

I remember those damn things, what made it irritating was they put one of the buttons right on the edge of the bottom and it made for a very sore thumb.

Agreed. You know the media overblew the hell out of the storm when all they did on 1 station was walk around the areas hit & talk about how much worse the damage could have been whilst they walked around a few flooded streets & blown over trees/fences.

Too late... EDITED.

To all newbies, please read the rules.

It was 🤬 funny, though.

I bet Paul was responsible for the graffiti

And the Hardee's sign, well that gives whole new meaning to red meat..

At Hardees we brown our burgers, but we don't cook 'em.
