My 15th anniversary is coming up & I am thinking about having my wife get me a new wheel. Has anyone tried the G27 & if so what are your thoughts. I currently have an older Logitech Driving Force wheel that I bought when I had my ps2. Thanks!

I'm supposed to get my G27 tomorrow (delay caused by a very stupid reason). As far as I've heard the issue with GT5P is that you cant use the paddle shifters. I really dont know anything about it's compatibility, but if i really get my wheel tomorrow I'll try to keep you informed ;).

So you are fifteen and married ?:sly:

I ordered one and it's supposed to arrive on the 8th but it's my christmas so I won't be able to play with it until the 24th. I can't wait.

Great! Please keep me informed!

Also I am way more than 15 - been married 15 years

Well, I just had a phone call and it's confirmed, It'll be arriving this afternoon. I can't wait dude!!! :D. Anything you want to know about packaging or something like that?

What do you use now? I will be upgrading from a Driving Force Pro.

Just wondering if it makes a difference in the whole game play experience.

I've been a DS/DS2 button masher all my life. Is it hard getting used to a wheel?

I'll be upgrading from a DFP too but I think you'll get yours before me.

It's a bit hard at the beginning, but start with low powered cars on easy tracks like HSR and after a week or 2 you'll probably be used to it. Once you're comfortable with a wheel your times are slightly faster than with a pad. You will see that GT is meant to be played with a wheel. You won't want to play with a controller anymore believe me. :sly:

Have fun with your G27. 👍

Like 2 hours ago mom arrived with the goodies, and i gotta say, the emotion you feel (Damn consumist brainwashes we've got :lol) is worth, say, a quarter of the price tag.

I haven't tried any wheel before, but now I'll never race without this one. The DS3 is ok, but no thanks, I got my G27 :D.The leather isn't very fine like the one in a real car, but it feels more nicer than plastic or rubber. Its also very kind to your hands. The pedals are very solid, and are very realistic, very well positioned as well. The force feedback is very impressive, it really hooks you up to the action.

Dude, I'm so engaged, I'm glad i bought it. That said, It's my first wheel and i haven't drove a car in real life, but this has been great fun .

Nice! Have fun. A wheel adds to the whole experience & can make you a faster & cleaner driver.

I've noticed that. Only problems i have with the G27 and GT5P is that the shiftting leds don't work and neither do the paddle shifters, but other than that it's amazing fun. The FFB is precise, strong, and quiet, very inmersive it gives you lots more information on the car. I'd reccomend it dude 👍.

Shifting doesn't work? I just watched a review of the wheel on youtube and I thought they were shifting while playing GTP?

Well, shifting WITH the paddles. I believe it's possible to do so with the gear stick and clutch but i haven't tried it.

It's not his birthday. It's an anniversary, a day to remember something, annually.

jwb351, like you said in the other thread, wait untill GT5 is released before getting the G27. Another advantage is that you'll maybe get a better (second batch) G27. I remember that the first G25's shifter had some problems. After 2 years, this was resolved. You still have a good wheel, so why get the G27 now, besides it's being an anniversary present.

Just my thought.

Thanks to all for their interest. I have decided just to keep using my current wheel for now. Now I just need to decide what I want instead!
