Is it just me or the game has become too dirty in the past month for some reason.

Either players have become less in EU region leading to terrible matchmaking or people dont care now about their SR coz they want to win Everytime and gain a position desperately.

Atrocious divebombing i have experienced over past month, people take a corner as if there is no car in front of them and just ram.

All this in the past month. My fluctuating DR SR could be a reason but this is getting too much now.

PEOPLE SIMPLY DON'T CARE. PD has to do something.

Maybe in the last month those who thought they were good are no longer after the patches. Maybe that was the first time they played and thought they could do whqt the used to do. Maybe its the internet wild west and not everyone plays in the same fashion another expects.

Basically I just accept it will happen and just enjoy the time I put in.

I also usedto think I was very good at these games and a fast driver but there are many better than I and I accept it might be me being rubbish or braking to early and causing an incident.

As long as I play the way I would like others to play then I enjoy what I have in front of me and not rage mode enabled evenings.

manufacturer race going almost perfect , qualifying 13th , climbing up to 6th , until a obviously -frustrated that he got lapped- guy launched me onto the barrier at turn 1 as i was lapping him , fortunately it only costs me 1 place but still man!

I'm trying to get the second clean race bonus and I'm b/c. So I'm sure someone will take it away from me. I've been qualifying last on purpose and trying to just keep a decent pace but always wind up 5-4th due to everyone taking each other and themselves out. Then I have to defend the inside line and risk getting punted or just give away position and even then people have tried to hit me.

I think people have realized you can get away with way too much, the penalty system is way too soft on collisions, likely because it got the wrong player too often in the past. Although I hit the back of someone in turn one the other day and whilst I did try to avoid them it was clearly 100% my fault and should have been a big penalty and yet I got nothing except an orange drop notice. I was going to give the place back but got knocked off anyway as I was too slow because of the contact and me trying (and failing) to get out of the way but if I wanted too I could have carried on and likely won the race, so I know I could hit cars in certain ways to knock them off and get away with it if I was a dirty driver.

I think it's the higher up you go the dirtier th racing becomes. Up to B rating and it has gotten nasty

The thing that boils my blood is when I'm on my racing line and somebody cuts in and hits me and it negatively affects my rating. Seriously, I'm in front of the other person, they hit me, I'm penalised!!!

How about when you are in the pit lane just about to come in and someone sweeps across the track and barges into you so they can pit too, that gets you a SR down and it happens a lot at Maggiore, well at least to me.

I race a lot and it has become more dirty. People seem to care less and less about making a clean pass and abuse track limits more. Getting bumped from behind when slowing down properly to drive bumper to bumper with the car in front, is now a given. I have to leave extra space now not to get bumped into the car in front of me giving me an SR down. Of course that only makes them hit me harder as I now brake a bit earlier, sometimes resulting in SR down anyway. It's a no win situation.

Today I've conceded places to pushy drivers, ditched to the outside not to hit people messing up in front and went down nearly 8000 DR, back in DR.B now. Not that it makes a difference, at max SR I get matched with the same people anyway. Hopefully the race selection will improve again, it has been dog **** the past few days. I hate the Sirocco and have driven Bluemoon far too much for credits.

I don't understand how there are still people in SR.S with all those red ratings after every race.

I think you should name and shame the guy who did it to you.

I think it's true that people are no longer caring about the rating system but I don't see that as a bad thing. The crappiest of drivers will end up at the bottom tiers, sure they will continue to wreak havoc but it's not so bad for an honest driver trying to level up. Just avoid them for a while and run conservatively at the back, that's what any rl driver would do, if you can't get past clean and find a comfortable spot up front because it is too dangerous ...

The reward is enough to move up into better classes and as you ride this sea saw gaining more skill, you will find you have enough skill to eventually avoid and pass and beat these idiots. I think of it as a way to hone my racecraft so I don't get to worked up over it tbh.

It's not much worse than the ai anyway lol

The real issue I think is that it's way too easy to get SR S. I've been purposely keeping my ratings low the past 2 weeks or so to be able to get the win/pole trophies and it's laughable how quickly my ranking jumps back up again. I have to do a race to drop my ranking back down to E twice a day on a weekend and once a day on weekdays when I only play in the evenings. All it really takes is one day of clean driving and you can get from E to S. That's maybe 20-25 races or so, I'm not sure. So yeah if you're already at SR S and you hit someone once to take a win it's very easy to get those SR points you lost back again. In my opinion if you hit someone your SR points should be dropped more and it should also be much harder to actually get to SR S. That should make the SR S races a bit cleaner.

As for dirty driving, I've noticed that SR B races are often worse than even SR E races, I don't know what's up with that but it's a bit strange.

It seems worse to me. I'm getting penalties for passing spun out/ghosted/cars off track as well as when someone hits me. I went from B/B to D/E in two days ( I went from SR S to B mostly from other peoples problems ) D/E is just like everyone says, its a horror show. I've been looking at qualifying times in the lower ranks, and sometimes the #1 spot is very close to the top 10. Seeing folks I know from S/S and B/S means either these folks are having a bad time like me, or they trashing their ratings to get more wins and fast laps.

It worked for me in the Blue Moon Gr.3 just now, got 1st place, but it was not an intentional exploit of ratings on my part.

Edit: I was writing this as @Firehuntah posted and he confirms what I'm saying.

Hit on purpose or hit on accident? PD will never know right? I get what you are saying but all these types of suggestions to the rules are coming from a gamer's standpoint which creates a disconnect from simulation of any kind. There is a middle I'm sure, equally sure PD will not find it.

This is how I view playing the game; I don't rely on the penalty system to save me, or the ranking system to recognize me, I rely on my ability to improve and excel in the environment given to me, I've had enough success to feel satisfied with the game.

Yeah that's true, with the current system you'd definately get some SR drops when being hit while only the other driver should actually get it. But overall I think the system isn't that bad. It's very hard to create a 100% (or even 90%) accurate system anyway so you'll always have some situations where you get SR drop or penalised unfairly. But a dirty driver will always get more SR drops than clean drivers so it would still work I think if you lose more SR when hitting someone.

I think your starting to see the effects of this game targeting such a niche market.
One of the moderators posted the other day the percentage of people that have even completed one online sport mode race and it was something like 6%. That's just sadly low. This is why you don't get matched with others your skill level. People are getting put into rooms with other drivers who are much better and faster than them and they are starting not to care anymore in your SR S rooms.
I can go on about the other problems within sport mode but I think the main problem is the low number of online racers and unless more people start playing its only going to get worse.

I had an ninteresting evening last night in the FIA race at Tokyo. Coming into the tunnel towards the pits, I was leading and the second place had caught a tow off me and was up the inside. I lifted inicially to move behind him so I could enter the pits.

During this attept the guy brakes. I assume trying to block my attempt to pit. He stays beside me and I end up braking harder and moving over. He trips himself up and in an attempt to push me off line and away from the pit entrance he manages to use my bonnet to pit move himself. He caught the slide but hit the beginning of the pit wall really hard... At first I felt bad, but in watching the replay it's clear he was trying to punt me away from the pits.

I went on to win the race with a clean race bonus..

Well... I still get 10s penalties when other cars bounce on me or brake check me so I doubt the penalty system is more forgiving. Maybe I just know how to avoid these dumb incidents.

Love these threads, seriously go try Forza7 and see how much they crash, bump, not give a crap about anyone else. Seriously, deal with it and move on. Life could be worse.

 I've been in some fabulous lobbies in other games, often reminded of motorstorm antics.

Somehow asking PD to perform better is quite funny to me. Deal with it and move on is my stance also as long as the organized fia racing is clean and monitored I have no quarrel. Besides, racing has never been fair or honest.

This is the sort of thing we are looking for. Edit, start at 54' or so.

I've handed the PS4 and GT Sport to my son who plays nightly and loves it .
I've spent hours with him teaching racing etiquette, at 11 he's moderately quick and very clean .
He will come running into my room upset however while I'm on the PC dad dad, this guy...I saved the replay you have to see this.

He'll start on about he wants to race PC Sims. I have to explain it happens in them all it's not what you drive, it's how you drive it.
In most cases you were rammed because you allowed it.
Drive more defensively, expect it and watch your mirrors.

I think this will forever be an issue racing in public lobbies with unknowns.
There is a certain excitement that comes with not knowing your competition.
But, in my 20th year of sim racing I like the predictable pace and skills of my small crew in AC.
