Looking forward to this event, should be good lesson with my new DFGT ;-)

Hey Karolinho.

Not sure if you have a good setup already for that car, but I drove it in a few races before and CSL has a very good tune online (I tested @ GP/F):

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=5750690#post5750690

That tune is optimized for soft tires so you may need to smooth it out a bit for mediums. CSL likes 'em fast and a little loose so may or may not fit your driving style.

100% will try it, thank you WRP.

There will be two more weeks of Practice Test Races and on Sept 25 2011 we will start the season with Round 1 at Fuji GT/F. Welcome to the series.

Also for the west coast racers you do not have to show up to practice at 7:00am PST you can show up at 8:00 am PST as I will reset the track for qualification (ie all times set during practice are reset.)

if i'm not there this next weekend i should definately be there for the next and for the start of the season, believe king was able to show up, hope he did alright, damage heavy can ruin someone's race.

also is round 1 going to be fuji speedway gt or f?? these are 2 different tracks.

That puts the last race (assuming 9 rounds) on November 20th. 👍 Works pefectly for me as I shift into snowboard season at thanksgiving (Nov 24) and won't be seen online on weekends often after that. :sly:

I'll plan to take part in the next couple test/practice sessions on Sunday mornings. Can you post which tracks you plan to include in each of the next two Sundays so we can be prepared? (In a few other series they actually list the practice races / practice format right in the OP).

May I suggest we do a few "simulated starts" at Fuji during the Sept 18th practice. We can all get accustomed to each others driving and brake zones and hopefully when race day comes around we can get past that first corner with minimal carnage... usually they set them up as a couple one lap races during the practice session (just before the 10 lapper) so we get a few shots at the start, merge and first turn.

Yes,I will have the complete list for testing posted in the OP as soon as I get it all sorted out in my notepad. It is the Full Circuit for Fuji Speedway with the chicane so Fuji F.

Your series Gamesta and you've done it before so you probably know what you're doing better than I would, but I'll throw in my two cents anyway....

Don't you think that's an awful lot to cover in a single practice session? I would think two tracks per session with a couple "simulated" starts (for the ones with tough initial turns) would be enough for a single 3 hour practice session. Some of the tracks require different transmissions (or for 24 hour different suspension), so it's pretty hard to go through 5 tracks in one morning.

Also, I would typically do my own solo pre-practice before our organized practices so I come prepared, but no way am I going to have time to prep on 5 tracks... so for me personally it's going to be sloppy practice session on at least a couple tracks I don't spend prep time on.

I would prefer to see us focus practice on the first 4 events in the next two weeks. (Fuji, Suzuka, Laguna, Indy). I know we just did Suzuka, but there are a bunch of new drivers and only a handful showed up for that practice. Idea... Maybe do Laguna/Indy on the 11th and then Fuji/Suzuka on the 18th so those are closer to those actual events.

We can always get practice on the remaining events during the season and closer to the actual races.

Anyway, it's obviously your call or maybe you want to see what others in the series think. Either way I'll be there! 👍

It's true it will be hard to get through all of the tracks in the gathered test sessions.
So What I Propose is to Set our Sights for week 1 of Testing for Fuji and Suzuka.
Week 2 we will focus on Indy and Daytona. At the end of each test session we can decide to focus on 1 or two more tracks depending on time etc. If there are any tracks in the calander that you want to be included in the test sessions please post here.

I agree. Those two sets of tracks can use almost the same setups.

👍 good call and thanks for being open to feedback. This is shaping up to be a fine series indeed.

Ps. I just ordered a hauppage video capture pvr so may be able to post some replay action on YouTube too. Gotta figure out how it works first.
