I love fuji f especially that last sector lol

I don't know you Terrible1Fi (also running the Calsonic) but I guess that means we're teammates 👍 unless people swap out cars. Your on west coast time also so I guess that means we could have a team practice at some point :sly:

What up, for sure let's do it. I'm on more often than I'd like to admit, add me on psn

Anyone else that is interested in running some testing add me on psn 👍

Who are you asking? Quote the original message and edit it down to just the part you are referring to.

I just looked and believe it's not specified in the OP (unless I missed it) so it's a good point and something Gamsta needs to address so we know. FYI... I've been running my practice session with "real".

Hint: Also don't double post, just edit your original message, especially if it's still the last post... the GTP admins frown on double posting... I'm not an admin, but I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night so I'm pretending to be one.

It's an original question to anyone who might know. It's not a quote, follow up or double post. I read the OP and it was not there until updated. I thought my thanks should stand alone as you were helpful and deserved to be addressed accordingly. Thanks again.

OK... I thought you were asking me if my practice time was run on "real" grip or not so it wasn't clear to me. Then I looked in OP and saw it wasn't specified there either so figured you might rather be referring to the OP... No worries man and tried to make light of my double post comment with the Holiday Inn reference. I'll stop staying at those hotels and posing as an admin. :sly: 👍

Cool, I'll send a FR to you when I next log in and post here when I'm running practice in my lounge. 👍 Right now I'm running a priano tune on the Calsonic.

No sweat. At first I though you meant the mods banned you for a night thus the HIE reference. I read too fast.

I will be testing at Fuji for about an hour or so all are welcome to join.(in my lounge)

I'm trying the Takata. I can't get it past 489hp. Tried the oil change and drove it a while. What are the other NSX's hp at?

drive atleast 200miles

All the NSX's reach 502-504 HP and get up to 600PP and you have to put 200 miles on the car.

Thanks. I forgot spinning laps in my lounge by myself puts zero miles.

I think it does add miles but you have to leave lounge for it to register and recognize the break in... At least I think that's how it works.

Ok thanks.

Online practice times at Fuji/F with race specs and RM tires are low 1'38s so far (fairly consistent). This is not one of my better tracks and I know at least low 1'37's are attainable with tweaks to setup and some better lines/driving (more practice!!). I think the NSX's should be running "significantly" better times than that as they have historically had an advantage here.

Haven't had too much time to practice Fuji F, but after one additional online session getting low to mid 1'37s on best of laps when tires are at optimal heat/condition (alone without drafting), but more often than not in the 1'38s when I have a "decent" lap or if tires are not at their best.

Setup feels pretty stable, which probably means it could be tweaked to go faster, but it's not worth it as it would chew up tires faster and be more likely to end up in a spin.

Anyone else have any practice lap times to report at Fuji or elsewhere?

Question: Does anyone know if drafting is toned down during "practice/quali" mode in an online lounge and then ramped up for the actual race? I never heard of that before but was in my lounge with another driver practicing and could have sworn draft wasn't doing much in practice mode, but as soon as we started "race mode" it seemed to kick in like crazy.

Draft is accelerated in race mode for sure. In Practice I can get mid 1:37.5xx Fastest and avg 1:38.xxx for a session before needing tires.

Draft does not work in practice W.

Thanks. That definitely explains what I observed. Makes sense as it would be unfair for quali if two drivers worked together.

PD restricted drafting in free run because its meant to be qualifying and gives unfair advantages...

I'm gonna test the Takata NSX tomorrow. The Woodone is OK but not very stable. I'm calling dibs on the Takata even though there are two left. And are the front tires burning off on everyone else's car within the first 10 laps or I just suck?

My tires have definitely dropped off a second or two by lap 10, but I wouldn't say they are "burned off". My car is still drivable beyond lap 10. What lap times are you running in that 10 lap stint? Maybe you are just going too fast.

1.38:8's in the Woodone.

I was able to get a fast lap yesterday of a 1:37.1 avg mid to high 1:37's until lap 7 then avg 1:38s by lap 13 i was avg 1:39's.

With the Raybrig NSX over 13 laps I'm running mostly low-mid 1'37's, 1'38-9's for the last 3 laps, and the odd 1'36. Any laps over 12/13 are generally 1'40ish.

What are the other NSX's hp at?

504 Bhp, 600 PP
But I just noticed this:

Car Regulations

- 606 PP Max
- 502HP Max
- 1100KGS Min

So am I required to limit the BHP to 502, even though it's 6 PP below the limit?

And are the front tires burning off on everyone else's car within the first 10 laps or I just suck?

No, mine aren't too bad, and I really doubt you suck :D
I find it more of a problem that the rears lose traction. I can live with a bit of understeer from worn tires, but I hate losing the rear end, which seems really easy on Fuji.
Depending on your brake balance, you may be able to save a bit of tire wear by lowering the front sensitivty setting. I dropped the rear by 2 points, and found the tires wear a lot more evenly, and keeps the car balanced better.
Realistically I'm looking at pit stop on lap 12 w/RM's.

Best lap on Fuji so far is 1'36.531 👍

@Hamster1984 - let me know if you want to trade tuning ideas, test, etc.
I love this car :D

I'm thinking braking balance will be a big issue in the actual race. Naturally in practice, I'm running a braking setup that conserves tires but still produces a medium-fast lap time. It put me around 1:37.4 for the first 3 laps, then on to 1:37.9 through lap 9, and then onto mid-high 1:38's until lap 17. However, I noticed in Gamesta's practice lobby when we did the small 5 lappers, I couldn't run my practice brake line at all. The heat of the actual racing was just too much to maintain that steady pace, and I'm sure it was the same for the others as well. The 5 laps we did run completely ate my tires, so I guess I'm just posting this to say that we should be aware of others' braking lines. I tend to brake a bit early, so if I get rammed off track in the chicane, it'll most likely be my fault. So just be aware of your own and others' braking guys! :)

looking forward to tomorrows practice session...

:D

I believe both settings have to be below limit as gamsta will switch randomly between limits. Maybe that will slow you a bit. :sly:

Great point re: being aware, but I don't think that you are at fault for braking early. None of us are professional drivers (I hope :nervous:) and we are in slightly different cars, with different setups. My brake point won't be yours, and vice-versa. Everyone I'm sure will be aware of this and make sure to give a bit of room, so as to not bump the car in front.
Remeber - the car that does the bumping usually keeps on going, it's the car in front that gets punted, so the rear car basically has to brake earlier than it would with no one in front.
Of course, in a real race, theory sometimes goes right out the window :dunce: :)

Maybe, (NOOOOOOO! I want my 2 BHP! - I'll trade you straight up for 2 PP :D) but here's your inspiration for tomorrow :sly:
Just re-tuned the car and ran 12 laps. Lap 1-7 were all 1'36.xxx :dopey:
Raised the car a bit from the tune I sent you, and set the camber higher to keep the car more stable. Really improved rear traction, but ate the front tires a bit faster.
New best lap of 1'36.131 👍

Ah okay I'm just going to hang out in the back then! Wait.. the back isn't where I want to be in a race.. :grumpy:

Hahaha you are absolutely right about theory being demolished in a real race. I'm going to work on different lines that allow me to brake later, and then (hopefully) I'll be ready for race one. Can't wait guys. Going to be a competitive season! 👍

I'm under the impression 502 is our HP limit and PP is in place like a weight restriction. I understand that if you tweak ballast and weight in some cars the PP will increase. Same is true for downforce in some cars. I believe the 606 PP is purely a cap to ensure that any particular car will not have a mechanical advantage over another. But all the hogwash above could be wrong. Just guessing.

Should be nice practice session, see ya on grid fellas! ;-)

i should make it, see you all there :)

yeah looking forward to tomorrow 10 am EST?
