Since the GameStop preorder is a free upgrade... does that mean it's automatic and there's nothing to select?

I just want to make sure I don't accidentally select the standard edition because I missed a setting somewhere.

I inquired about this very issue inside my local Gamestop and was assured that by simply pre-ordering the game, we'll automatically receive the Anniversary Edition upon its release.

All it does is print a code on the receipt to be redeemed. Unfortunately, we are getting bent over a barrel and not truly being upgraded to the the REAL Anniversary Edition with the steel cover and what not. We are just getting digital crap for buying from that particular store, as opposed to the store we might prefer to do buisness with. Thanks SONY. And 99% of these GS stores are not doing a midnight launch. Thanks again SONY for releasing this game on such as odd date...morons!!!

hmm I think Friday is a good day for a release, much better than the more common Tuesday releases. Kids and many adults will be able to play late into the evening and over the weekend without having to miss school/work to do so.

Midnight launch does not interest me much. I can wait till morning to get the game. If I were to get it at midnight I would just end up not getting any sleep and be exhausted the next day.

As for the "digital crap" I think that is a much better thing to have than a box, I mean can you drive the box, race it, upgrade or tune it? I've gotten some games that came in nice boxes and some that come in a very plain case they both just set on the shelf and collect dust, at best I may say to a friend who visits, "Check out this box" Somehow they tend to get more excited over the cars than the box though.

Which wouldn't matter when you (or I) are attempting to beat the 48 hour straight record you (I) set with GT5...

LOL 48hr straight, nope not me, not a chance. I love racing but I also have a life and need my rest.

If I did want to set a record though I would want to get the game first thing in the morning not a bit after midnight when I am already tired.

Gran Turismo and Forza don't sell as fast as a Blizzard game or Call of Duty, hate to say it. I don't blame them if they don't want to round up employees to keep the store open just to satisfy like 5-10 GT fans. Also it's being released on a friday, is this odd?

I keep hearing about the "RE" & "LE", but my gamestop (US) only has 1 SKU. The guy actually seemed annoyed at the question.... I'm sure plenty of people are inquiring about it.

Odd date? We in europe get most of our games released on a friday so this is neither moronic or an odd date

I am just wondering if we will receive the pre-ordered games on Friday Dec 6 or will that be the ship date from Gamestop. Anyone know what the deal is?
