Gearbox in KPH!?

I have the main settings set to MPH but on tuning pages the gearbox shows KPH. This really bugs me having to convert all the time. I'm in the UK and wondered if it's the same in other territories?

You’ll probably notice that torque isn’t displayed in lb/ft, either. Whereas the Americans get both mph and lb/ft.

Well, when it comes to gearing, it's better to be very precise.. and mph is more of an estimate than a precise measurement of speed.

Ok, no jokes.. I really don't think such things are OK from PD and that also shows that some things in the game are not fully thought out.

The american version of GT7 has the transmission settings in kmh for us as well. I have to google the conversion every time.

this really bugs me too and I do hope PD sorts this out. They are probably not even aware of it though. I’ve just been suffering in silence until now, begs the question how many others are doing the same. You’re the first I have seen to complain about it publicly (and rightly so!).

It's such a simple fix and yet they have not/will not fix, it's cosmetic, doesn't affect the physical gameplay, therefore low priority...

I created a cheat sheet that I keep with my other tuning notes. Whenever I need to tune the tranny I pull out my card for reference. I just don’t think about it anymore at this point. It bothered me at first because why bother to give us a choice and then ignore it?

It makes me think of a time when I was a kid and my brother and I had our choice of potatoes when we were ordering our food. I got fries because, well, because I’m a kid. My brother asked for fries too but the guy said, “Nah, you’d rather have a baked potato” and flipped it on his plate. He was so stunned he just took it. Now I realize that PD keeps giving me baked potatoes too, and I just take them. So I guess I’m used to it by now. So the moral of the story is, always remember that there are starving children in ________ who’d love to have your KPH, so quit complaining?

it's actually really annoying as a Brit being brought up using half n half! I use mph, but mm's and Kilograms for length and weight.

That's what we rest-of-the-worlders feel when some american hard code mph or the weird mm/dd/yy date format onto a software.

Just get over it like we all do. 🤷‍♀️
