Anybody got all the achievements yet? I dont even have half of the achievements.

I've got like 770 out of 1000. I could go back on to get some more, but unfotunately this game has the highest percentage of whiney/arrogant/pathetic/sore loser/bad sports/non team player type of people than any other game on Live. I can hardly stand to play in ranked matches to get the achievements. My feedback went from like 85% to 65% from all the crybabys on there dinging you if you don't let them have the sniper rifle/hammer of dawn/ boomshot or whatever achievement they're trying to get every single round, or just plain out stomping thier asses. Not to metion everysingle match some pathetic tools decide to quit after the first round, then all the rest of thier team follows suit.:rolleyes:

Decnt game online if you have buddies to hang out with in unranked, though.👍
 
You know, I will have to agree with you now after my last match...

I have noticed recently that players in the Ranked matches are playing more and more dirty - chainsaw glitches, and now even cheats that allow you to sprint and fire at the same time. It was bearable, until my last match. 2 people were cheating, and was just sitting there on purpose on the spawn point not doing anything. He was there playing, because his excuse was "I'm new to this game". :rolleyes: Once or twice he even ran and stood infront of one of us, just so we could shoot him. One of the 12 year olds wouldn't stop shouting "WOOOOOOOO!" down the microphone, and constantly told us not to kill anyone in his sight. In the end people were just being VERY unsporting - stealing each other's kills - so I started stealing some of their kills, as I wouldn't have stood a chance.

It's a real shame, as I've had some fantastic sporting matches with people in the past. Now you're getting more of the itty gritty people that aren't taking it as seriously as the game was when it was first released.

I'd try playing in unranked matches... sure, your kills won't be counted, but I find that unranked matches in general have people with an IQ higher than a Tasmanian buttmonkey.

Yeah, my wife has about 20 people on her friends list that she plays with in unranked who are all friendly and good sports, she loves playing it with them. Me, I'm not a huge shooter fan so I'd rather play something else most of the time. I'ts just a shame that one has to put up with some of the crap on there just to get some achievements.

One day a couple weeks ago I totally snuck up on a guy and chainsawed his ass. For the rest of the match he kept calling me a cheater using chainsaw glitch because he's so great of couse he could never die that way unless I cheated, cussing and calling me fag and whatnot. I don't even know how to do any of those stupid glitches and don't care to learn. That was the last game I played on there. maybe I'll go back later but I really doubt it, it's become quite pathetic.
 
Yep. I don't know how to do any of the glitches either - and I do not want to learn them.

And in the unranked matches, yeah, people are much more friendly.
 
I usually play unranked, I play ranked when nobody's online. I've also started playing assassination with a few of the TWR lads on ranked matches. We're not cheating to get the achievements, it's just alot more fun to play with people you LIKE to play with.

And I'm catching up with your points total GT :lol:
 
An update was released a couple of days ago. The main added feature is the "Annex" game mode, where your team has to control a point where a weapon is on the map. The only you hold it for, the more points you get. After 60 seconds, the place is changed to another weapon location. The great thing is, is that you respawn whenever you die, so you always have a chance to kill people. It can get quite insane! Encourages teamwork too. :)
 
Yeah, but I'm a little disappointed in the Boomshot and Hammer of Dawn changes. They're a little over-powered, if you ask me. It's kind of frustrating, that you cannot run away from either, regardless of your agility. :(
 
New DLC is out... but you have to pay. It's four maps, but they're a little different to the rest. They're more "active", with switches to release gas in rooms, and intense weather, etc.

To be honest, I'm disappointed with the two I've tried already: Bullet Marsh and Garden. I particularly hate Bullet Marsh, because it's confusing and slightly poorly laid out... Gardens I could probably get used to. The other issue is because they are so much more graphical, the framerate drops even when you're in a small fight. This puts me off a quite a bit at times.

So far, a waste of my 800 points (£8.50). I hope the other two maps are better... Raven Down and Old Bones were much better maps, and they were for free!


Again, if anyone is free to have a match on this game sometime, feel free to say. :)
 
I actually enjoy the new maps thoroughly. Subway is, by far, my favorite, since the layout scheme rivals that of Canals. But, in a way, Subway is superior, since it's not so symmetrical. I don't mind Bullet Marsh at all, since the Kryll add an entirely new adversary to the mix, since you're battling for the well-lit areas. I'd have to say that Process is my least favorite of the bunch, since it doesn't offer anything more than a bland taste on the multiplayer side of Gears.
 
Does anyone know how to get to players on the same machine to play a player match online? So they have a "[1]" on the end of their name? I've been trying to do it myself, but I cannot figure it out. Google isn't helping either. Or do you have to be host for it to work?


Edit: Nevermind. You can sign-in as a guest as soon as you go to the Player Match section by pressing Y.
 
I have not played this in many months but last night I put it in to give the multiplayer another chance. That new mode called Annex is awesome!! You actually have respawns!!! Not having respawns is why I never liked the multiplayer but now I am actually enjoying it. 👍 I also thought there were some free maps but didnt see them in the marketplace.
 
The only reason why so many people were peeved off with the Annex was the kills you done never gets added to your leaderboard scores in Ranked matches. I'm not sure after the very last update whether this has changed, but there are some new achievements for the Annex mode specifically, which I suppose is there to get you to play it again.

These are:

"THIS! IS! ANNEX!" - 40 points
Complete 100 multiplayer matches of 3+ rounds in Annex and capture 3 objectives in each match.

"Inconceivable!" - 30 points
Win 20 rounds of multiplayer matches in Annex by fewer than 5 points.

"Nub Pwn3r" - 30 points
Win 20 rounds of multiplayer matches in Annex by shutting out the opposing team.

"You Down With E.P.I.C?" - 30 points
Win a multiplayer match of 3+ rounds in any game type on 6 different downloadable maps.

"Green Thumb" - 30 points
Win 20 multiplayer matches of 3+ rounds in any game type on the Garden multiplayer map.

"Mind the Gap" - 30 points
Win 20 multiplayer matches of 3+ rounds in any game type on the Subway multiplayer map.

"All That Juice" - 30 points
Win 20 multiplayer matches of 3+ rounds in any game type on the Process multiplayer map.

"Purdy Mouth" - 30 points
Win 20 multiplayer matches of 3+ rounds in any game type on the Bullet Marsh multiplayer map.
 
Well I tried again last night to get into this game but it just seems impossible to play online. There is no matchmaking so the chance of getting teams that are close to even just never happens. The chances of getting a team that will stay an entire game is even more impossible. I also dont understand how someone can instantly down you with a shotgun by blind shooting over a wall when your quite a distance away from them.

One thing I did enjoy last night was the map called Bullet Marsh. OMG talk about incredible graphics. WOW. Thats an amazing looking level.
