Looks like you have to twist it

Busted out the Super of the Street Fighter 4... Whooped a Makoto newbie here and back. It seems like I still haven't lost my execution skills, footsies and analyzing of my opponent. Though Bison still gives me a ton of trouble.

Because I felt like being godlike last night :sly:

Post a story too... I'm sure you've got something you'd like to share.

Okay then tell me about one time where you fought this guy, he was turtling you out, and then...... insert the rest of your story, go!

I still don't get double elimination some times, people who lose in the pools gets a chance to fight people in the winners...isn't like getting a 2nd chance though?

Yep, losers gets a chance to become 2nd or 3rd or possibly 1st.

But any one in the winners final at any point can be sent to losers? and then the best of the losers faces the winner in the winners final in the grand finals?

So it's kind of like separating the pool into 2 groups throughout the duration of the entire tourney, where how its decided is based on who wins and loses...?

For instance, if I won purely 2 matches against my opponent. I move on and he gets sent to losers, now he still has a chance to play me again but if he loses in losers. He is purely out of the tourney.
From what I have been through, its been like : if you win 2 matches, you get to move on. Though if you lose in losers, your out of the tournament.

Yeah, so every winner is still safe if they lose once, they just can't lose again. I'm getting this right?

Yup, like I lost to NFG in the first round but I have a chance to face him again in Losers since he lost. If he continued on and I did the same, we could of met at the G bracket.

It's fair, because if N4K makes it back to the finals and competes against a guy that has won all the way up to the finals in the winner's bracket then N4K would have to win twice as many times to eliminate the winner's bracket finalist and the winner's bracket finalist would only have to beat N4K one set to take home the championship.

Scrub rant: I think I need a frankenpad in order to do good at marvel.... joystick motions are still a pain in the neck to deal with.

I'm trying to dish out a QCF super amidst battle, and I get a forward dash... 🤬
I'm trying to do berserker slash (QCB + atk), and I get a standing normal... 🤬
I'm blocking low, but then I get hit low anyway because apparently I wasn't blocking low... 🤬

This happens all the time... and it is is driving me nuts.

Have you been practicing those Bnbs for Sakura? It seems like you could of rush down that Makoto so many times. Have you tried each move on its own for wolvie?

See here's the thing..I'm not dedicated enough to practice.... in SF or Marvel... not anymore anyway. I could have rushed them down, but I instinctively don't because I'm instinctively holding down back all the time as if that was the neutral position of my joystick

edit: wow so that's what the video quality is like when it RAW from the recorder... I should just stick to mpeg and premiere next time.

You could always play older games to get use to QCB/F motions. I haven't practiced too much for Evo because internet kills me but I watch videos of Rog.
Looks like SCV will be interesting to play!

...SF is a pain for me to play on stick with because of dashing, marvel is a pain to play on pad because of the button layouts.

I wonder if I'm going to completely drop Marvel because of AE.... probably not though. Going to give X-23 a try as I'm sick and tired of my friend's bs range team....

Time to fight fire with fire.

I'm so bored today, I'm going to pick up Virtua Fighter 4 Evo, for the right price. Not having a Ps3 really sucks now.

Any of you guys playing Mortal Kombat and if so, what is your opinion?

I personally love the game and am currently enjoying all the different features online and offline. It's a little slower pace than MvC3 which is nice even though I do enjoy MvC3 sometimes I just need to slow down a bit.

Apparently, Mortal Kombat isn't general enough that it has its own thread. Check there instead.

Solid Sakura Play. <3
Spectacular show put on by Bullcat and vadirapp.
A Rose with excellent spacing on normals and footsies.

Of course not, but what's there to talk about when it comes to MK when someone went ahead and made a thread exclusively for it?
