Oh yeah? What makes you say that? I knew after a while he was waiting for a good time to dash up > ex Slide. I figured out it was a read more than a reaction because the likeliness of someone dashing in on a fireball to react with a ex slide is low. Thus I threw fireballs until I felt he would do the whole process on nothing and I should've buffered ultra on reaction to his dash from full-screen and hit 3P the moment I saw flashing yellow lights.
 
Oh man. I didn't do anything successful tonight. I got 4-0'd in the best of 7 against a Honda. He space everything just right. When he neutral jumps about 2.5 characters away I can't find something to do. When he does his butt splash, he completely read me on the follow up with an ochio or a second buttsplash. It doesn't help I don't play against Hondas enough to react to buttsplashes with parry instinctively. He also nailed me with his pokes before I do so he gets CH on a lot during footsies. I don't know if I can really do much against his st.hk. That j.mp of his also kept throwing off my timing on AAs.
 
OH MY GOD. I just had the most pathetic match ever. It was me (dudley) against ryu, and this guy would jump backwards, fireball spam, then teabag the floor so he could fluke a shoryuken every time I got near, or even when I was far away. Although it was pretty difficult to get in, he never changed his tactics, just kept on spamming. In the final round, he was nearly outta health, and used Metsu Shoryuken FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SCREEN. So I just corkscrew crossed him as he landed. Then he sent me a message. I quote, "wtf". Hilarious. Saved the first replay for teh lulz.

That should be noted with a caveat that Smash has a spot reserved in the line up if legal issues are cleared up. Which version, however, maybe up in the air as Smash 4 is slated for release in the next few months.
 
Kirito (SAO) will be a playable character in Dengeki Bunko FIGHTING CLIMAX.

I could be wrong on some of these things but:
It seems that he catches you when your just pressing buttons. He reacts to your fireball than a read. Are you currently practicing 1f links with Gouken? I think you can apply your fireball game when he doesn't have any meter or at least half a bar. I see some dropped combos. I wonder what are your os' against cody. If you stop him from getting in, then you should be good. All Cody has is rocks, slide,ex slide and probably his ex sliding kick ( that probably has a few invulnerable frames like Bingo and probably ex upper.)

For now, my orange JLF and eight orange sanwa buttons arrived. :) Now I'm waiting for the MC Cthulhu, and the three 24mm buttons. Then I'm off to work. I just need to figure out a way to get myself a wonderfully polish look on wood (again).

At first I thought of opting for clear paint again. Except now, I may just stick a sheet of plastic all around. Weight's bound to be added - a side objective - but I won't have to worry about paint chipping or leaving finger prints.
 
Worst order made from Focusattack ever though. Thought international buyers had to use that Bongo mail forwarding service. While I only paid $5 to ship it to that US address, Bongo charged me $31 to ship that box to my house.


edit: I'm blown away I didn't think of it earlier, What Fighting Game Climax can definitely use is Black Rock Shooter characters.

And Amane Suzuha... and Bakemonogatari heroines for that matter. They pushed the envelope with Kirino and if all it takes is a popular moe female heroine, then the clouds (not skies) are the limit.

I never imagined it pushing it to characters originally designed for ecchi-material, but simply female fighters of the recent years of anime.

Seeing as how there's only one character per game (minus the assist), Black Rock Shooter could be paired up with Dead Master. It doesn't make sense in that these two fight to the death, but it's supposed to be main characters so these two would be it.

I don't even know who Suzuha would be paired up with. Kurisu sound like the most logical, but the two have had beef with each other. Kurisu also can't fight, and neither can Okabe. But I suppose Okabe could use his future gadgets and make a mockery of Frank West and Phoenix Wright with their silly movesets.

Hell, if they were willing to suck it up and add a few non-moe characters, Faye Valentine and Spike Spiegel would be awesome additions. Akane and Kogami would be cool zoning characters. Major and Batou would wreck the tier list. I suppose they're too old to fit in with all the young girls. Then again, Wilhelmina is in it.. Disregarding that, we could add Kallen and LeLouch, or Ura Moka and Tsukune (the manga finished recently btw), two madoka characters, Kyou and Tomoya, hell even Neptunia characters and those characters from [C].


The only problem I see here is licensing. :lol:

@AOS- I like the ideia, to see B☆RS and Stein's Gate characters in the game, also Lelouch and Kallen C.C. would make a great pair (better than Kirito and Asuna, IMO).
Unfortunately is a Dengeki Bunko X SEGA, thus we will only have characters from these two companies.
However, I am waiting to see Hatsune Miku as a playable character.:drool:
 
At one point, I considered getting "Dead or Alive 5" when I saw it in a bargain bin at a Wal-Mart and after seeing a video review on YouTube. I still kind of want to get it, but I wanted to see a little more before getting it. I previously had "Dead or Alive 2 Hardcore" on the PS2. I'm told this DOA is the best one. To my surprise, it even includes Virtua Fighter characters like Akira and Sarah among others.

I'm sure some of you DOA fans would approve and recommend DOA5, right?
 
I thought that DOA2 was so far the best one. Your best bet is to pick it up anyways, its casual friendly.

People started to complain the online experience but I just thought about simply outplaying them. Unblockables are apparently gone.
 
I'm considering learning a different character if I have to deal with the very strong games some characters had in previous editions. As much time I've put into Gouken, I still have to work a lot only to be shut down with a single mashed uppercut.
 
Haven't posted here in a while, but I'm seriously considering getting into Soul Caliber (since its also made by Namco, why not) and possibly Dead Or Alive. Wondering how both of those games are in terms of fighting mechanics, I figure SC will be by default different since its mostly weapon based, but unsure what to expect with DOA.

SC to me is alot of timing between GI (guard impacts) and ground game. Aris does a good tutorial on each character.
